Seems like a lot of pointless extra effort for a plate of hot dogs.

It really does make the taste better, I would buy this is if I did a big cookout or something every year, but...you know
>you know, /ck/.
>hold me
>>7191768
seems like a waste of time but i see the upsides:
>increased surface area allowing for better condiment to meat ratio/blend
>potentially better texture depending on how its cooked
i could see it being pretty good if prepared like in the OP, especially if they're not just shitty oscar-mayer plastic crap
just sayin'

Can someone give me the lowdown on pressure frying? The instruction manual says never do this but manuals say a lot of things. I fry most of my food and this seems really fast. How dangerous is it really? French fries in 1 minute sounds incredible. I don't mind getting oil on my clothes; most of them are soiled lol

don't kill yourself.

I have seen these warnings, but as the author here admits, many people have used their regular pressure cookers to fry without incident for decades, which makes me wonder if the danger is overstated by pressure fryer manufacterers to sell more pressure fryers.
>>7191593
Frying is quick as shit, what is the fucking point in pressure frying? How obese are you that you can't wait the extra 30 seconds for your fries to finish?

Has anyone got a good honey roasted ham recipe? Most recipes online are for pre cooked ham. I would like a recipe for cooking with raw meat if possible.
>>7191125
You want to look up "home curing ham".
Time's pretty short if you want it for Christmas day though. You might be able to cure a thinly butterflied cut, but a whole leg takes weeks at least.
>>7191125
Ham is cured I don't think I've ever seen one cooked.
>>7191392
Well I guess you can. I ways thought they were just cured. Google turned this up OP. You might have time

Do you have any original recipes that you came up with from scratch /ck/? Are there any left to discover that aren't modernist laboratory tier stuff?
I mean something that doesn't even have a name known to the general public yet, rather than simply your personal way of preparing an existing dish.

I recently acquired a metric fuckton of Potatoes.
Like, 4 bags for 5 dollars.
What are some simple French Fry, Potato Chip, Potato Wedge recipes you guys can share?
Im thinking of making Potato Chips, but most Online Recipes require me to have a fryer, dutch oven, etc.
Im talking more practical, like olive oil and a Baking Sheet and etc.
Thanks! Im cooking now, so chosen recipe will be done
>>7190958
Honestly, deep frying them in a pot of oil is pretty damn simple. Fast too. All you need is a pot you can put on your stove and some oil to fill it.
>>baking sheet
Oven is a pain in the ass for fries and it's difficult to get them to come out nice and crisp. There's a reason they're called "fries" and not "bakes".

Cut into wedges, peeled
Into boiling H2O for a minute
remove to another big pot, SHAKE THEM for a few seconds
Place on greased sheet, cover w foil
Exceptional crust
Hey /ck/, my gf has developed an allergy to milk (Not an intolerance.) Anyone got any decent lactose/milk-free recipes for some decent meals I can cook for her? Preferably not hot/spicy as she doesn't really like that sort of thing.
I can't have dairy either - you can literally just substitute 1 for 1 with almond, coconut or soy milk. I find almond has the creamiest taste but Alpro does a soy cream that tastes pretty good. Their yogurts aren't bad either. Also coconut cream is good in coffee.
You can use nutritional yeast if you're lacking umami.
Most asian cuisine is dairy-free which makes eating out easier.
If it's only cows milk then you can try using buffalo mozzarella or goats and sheeps cheeses. I'm intolerant to the protein in cows milk so I eat these when I need them.
If you tasted them side-by-side then the thing made with fake milk will be inferior but I can't actually remember what dairy tastes like so food still tastes good to me. Plus I cook dairy-free for others and they don't seem to notice.
