Stop fat-shaming me, anon.
Peel and eat shrimp with cocktail sauce and lots of beer. I've tried to fill up on those shrimp a few times but it never works. I just keep eating and eating.
food picture thread
I figure this would belong here rather than /lit/ because I don't think many people there would have read it, but is it worth the read?
Also, I suppose you can discuss Bourdain and whatever else to keep this food related.
>>7269869
ya nah
It's 100% worth the read if you're in the industry or interested in the industry. Not because it's cool, or because the example set is something to aspire to, but because the contents are something you should be ready to expect at some point down the line.
yes, its a fun read. lots of good general information as well as interesting tidbits about the service industry. bourdain's a fun writer even if he comes off as pompous as fuck.
i ended up buying his les halles cookbook after and its an excellent beginner guide to cooking and complements the introductory stuff he mentions in confidential. never cooked mussels before that book and now make my broth and sauces that are way tastier than the store bought shit. the two books pair really well together.
What is your favorite vegetable? Mine is pic related
Probably broccoli. Or green beans
I don't like vegetables much because humans are carnivores, but sometimes I like lettuce on my burgers. Normal lettuce mind you, none of that high falutin snob shit whatever it's called.
You vegans can have your cow food, it tastes like shit but then again the cute widdle animals didn't die (except all the millions of mice that died in the field lol what are you going to do now faggot)
Anyway, vegetables are icky.
>>7268531
I am OP and I usually eat the broccoli rabe with Italian sausage
What do you cu/ck/s think of vending machines?
>>7268197
Why dothey put the chips in the top row? They crash and crumble when the bag falls down that long fall.
>>7268197
Pretty good for 4 bucks
>>7268197
>the guy who actually buys the Lifesavers on the bottom row
Post it, /ck/ocks!
>>7268183
Lol
>>7268135
>apples
>god tier
>peaches
>shit tier
I think you have those backwards.
So uh /ck/
How to get dough out of pubic hair?

Take a fucking shower?
ITT: Which foods or drinks are overrated
>Water
Haven't drunk water in 6 months and i'm perfectly healthy.
>>7267341
Creamy meme, dude.
>>7267341
every type of fruit, it's all pretty shit
>>7267341
Beer. It just tastes like fermented ass.
I was drunk last night shopping for my lactose-intolerant gf and bought this thinking it was dairy free.
>>7267057
>lactose intolerant gf
You fucked up at choosing grills.
>>7267057
>lactose-intolerant gf
So you're into black chicks?
>having inferior genetics
ahahaha I bet you wear glasses too
You guys tricked me into eating spicy noodles! I thought this would be like the Top Ramen oriental kind! SHIN RAMYUN IS A MEME! I HATE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!
I like spicy stuff maybe I should give it a try
>>7266049
I bet you think Big Red gum is spicy too.
on a scale from 1 to spicy spicy being the spiciest what would you rate it?
What are some of the dumbest things you did when you were first learning to cook (or perhaps more recently)?
>Boiling a pot of rice
>Remove pot from hot burner
>Need somewhere to put it
>Don't realize bottom of pot is still hot
>Absent-mindedly set pot on plastic cutting board
>Loud hiss, whole suddenly smells like burning hot wax
>Remove pot to find large, partially melted spot on cutting board
did you only have 1 burner? I normally cook on the back burner and move to the cool front when done
>>7258864
I used to "fix" bad tasting dishes by adding more stuff to them.
>>7258864
That's flat out stupidity. That's not a fuck up. You're just dumb.
>St. Louis style "pizza"
Bought some of this today for the first time ever. It was the biggest mistake in my life. That Provel Cheese tastes like melted plastic and the aftertaste is still in my throat hours later.
Seriously who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
>>7258509
that looks like garbage. at least its big tho.
pricey?
>>7258533
>It tastes like crap. At least I get to eat a lot of it!
Nigga what the fuck are you talking about.
>>7258509
How do you even eat the middle pieces? This makes me so mad.
It's the ceremony that makes the tea tastes better.
I don't disagree with that.
>>7258086
>muh culture
Yeah no. it's the milk and sugar that makes the tea good
>>7258090
"I'm pretty sure you get your ass kicked for doing that."
For Tea and Coffee snobs.
Hey /ck/
i use to date a Chinese girl and her mother made the best Steamed Buns. I would like to make them too but dont have a steam-plate or wok as all the recipes call for the use of these online. I really dont want to go out and buy one. Is there any substitute?
>>7255273
I've had success with a pot / cooling rack / upturned pot configuration. All you really need to do is produce a lot of steam and concentrate it.
buy them frozen
>>7255273
ask her to make you a kawaii (cute) bento (food)
