What is your go to liquor?
I'm looking to get a bottle of gin. Does anybody have any good suggestions?
>>7263267
Just get Tanqueray. Don't get Tanqueray Ten. If you want to be cheap, Taaka makes a respectable bottom-shelf gin.
>>7263267
>Does anybody have any good suggestions?
I suggest suicide. It's a better idea than you think
>>7263282
If only every person on earth did this, everything would be fine.
Why are corn chips with salsa the best snack food?
Because you are bad at making snacks I guess.
That's a strange way to spell hummus and pita chips, OP
They're not. Ranch flavored sun flower seeds are.

I don't get it.
Table has a b in it, tea doesn't.
ITT: foods that pair really well with a thick amber beer.
I'll start.
>>7263161
"OP is currently drinking thick amber beer and eating stuffed peppers" detected.
Stuffed peppers have to be the worst non-food I can think of.
But instead of ending my post on that pessimistic note, I would say nothing hits the spot like a good old bacon burger with blue cheese and a cold beer. Maximum comfort.
>>7263161
Stuffed peppers are like the niggers of society, you need to tolerate their existence.
Hey /ck/, any tips/recipes for tomato soup?
All the recipes I find online say to use canned tomatoes, but I hate how much salt is in that shit.
>>7263099
wut? Don't buy tomato sauce, buy whole peeled tomatoes. Preferably a good brand. Don't remember offhand but America's Test Kitchen usually does staple ingredient reviews.
>>7263099
See what you gotta do is, cut the soup with a big handful of bread crumbs
>>7263099
Check the Contadina labels.
One has much less salt.
Does this stuff taste as good as it looks?
It looks like little burritos wrapped in cabbage instead of corn/flour.
Better, man. They're like tiny little juicy meatloafs. Don't know about goblaki, but the hungarian variant is fucking amazing.
I like them best when they're made out of chocolate, hollow and shaped like rabbits.
>>7263122
I like them best when they're cut with bread crumbs
Why can't I make anything that tastes really good? The flavor never enters the food, it merely sits atop it as if it were added after being prepared. No matter the method, whether it be baked, braised, barbecued, poached, or slow cooked for 8 hours, it is never satisfying.
>>7263033
That image is from many 4chan posts ago.
You're a seasoned troll.
Now learn to season your food.
>>7263033
You have to go into detail. Add the salt and seasoning at the beginning of (or even before) the cooking process to meld.
The thing is, if we could watch you cook something we could definitely help you. But we don't know why your food sucks without information.
just a thread with some awesome food
ok you start lol
Anyone here smoke brisket? I'm using an electric smoker with hickory chips, planning on doing 225 uncovered until it gets to about 160 internal then wrapping it in foil until 205 or so
>brine, marinade or neither
>inject? If so with what
>what should I put in the rub
Thanks
>>7262992
>brine if you have 24 hours to spare
>apple juice
>if you are creating your own, brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, cumin...
>>7262992
How hard is it to smoke a brisket in one of these? I've always wanted to try.
>>7263008
>apple juice
As a side note, we also injected melted butter last time before wrapping it in foil. It was amazing.
How many times a week do you eat sandwiches?
2
fun thread
>>7262928
I have maybe a sandwich or two a month.
Every day. I fucking love sandwiches. Tons of mayo on one side (sometimes mixed with siracha) and deejohn mustard on the other side.
When are we going to get frozen/dehydrated food that doesn't suck? I'd gladly never cook again.
Here's some current problems as I see them. Feel free to add to this:
>high amounts of salt and fat to improve flavor rendering them in many opinions as unhealthy
>foods don't crisp
>crisp foods don't stay crisp (for example, microwaved french fries)
>crisping trays aren't quite there yet, let's be honest
>too expensive
>takes too much space in freezer (we need dehydrated pizzas that expand instead of a 12" or larger pizza taking up space)
>wasteful trays and cardboard
>raw foods like fruits (apples) and vegetables (lettuce) are AFAIK currently impossible (that is to say, they are disgusting)
>ingredients cook at different rates (think of how each ingredient in a frozen burger would cook)
Whoever solves this shit for mankind is reaaal fucking cool in my book. He's going to make Elon Musk look like the inventor of the Segway by comparison.
Fucking you. Get a death.
You can have convenient foods. You can have healthy and flavorful foods. You rarely have both.
>>7262919
Everybody who talks about or mentions that scene always fails to notice the most horrible thing about alternate future food: if the pizza is that small before going into a rehydrator, then that means that pizza is like 90% water.
So I like well done steak
Why does that upset everyone? I don't understand why folks get upset about how other people prefer their food.
>>7262878
It doesn't upset me at all. It's just the insufferable sperglords that feel compelled to dictate to everyone else how they should prepare and enjoy their own food.
Continue to eat whatever you like and ignore what anyone else thinks.
>>7262878
It's a waste of quality meat.
>>7262886
if its well done then it probably wasnt quality meat. op is likely just used to flank steak from walmart
>Lost job
>Lost foodstamps
>Have friend who could get me free fast food
>Have been eating almost nothing but fast food for the last month
>Haven't gained a pound somehow
How fucked am I /ck/?
You're yoing to turn into an SSBBW model, yes, even if youre a guy
>>7262718
Nutrients are a myth.
Calories in = calories out
>>7262718
Fast food doesn't make you gain weight, calories make you gain weight. There's no magic shit that fast food pulls out of its containers that makes it worse for you than anything you could make yourself
What's the difference between olive oil and extra virgin olive oil?
If a recipe calls for olive oil, can I substitute extra virgin olive oil?
>>7262708
You can pretty much substitute any fat for any other fat.
>>7262708
Extra virgin means the grapes matured longer I think
extra virgin is unrefined olive oil.
What do rich people eat?
Subway and McDonald's salads.
>>7262609
I know a family that is incredibly wealthy. They eat filet mignon from Walmart with asparagus 3 nights a week.
Depends if you mean rich and cultured or just rich. I know rich people that live on garbage.
