I don't want anything sweet. I'm all about the salt if I'm hungover. A BLT is perfect for me. I also hate that hungover feeling so getting drunk drunk isn't something I really enjoy.

I've tried to pan-cook steak several times now, using various Googled recipes, on a cheap electric apartment kitchen stovetop.
Every single time when the meat hits the pan it generates so much smoke I'm afraid I'm going to set of the smoke alarm. I open the sliding door and turn on the fans but it still seems like far too much smoke for what's supposed to be a stove-top operation.
What am I doing wrong?

your doing it right... lots of smoke if your super heating the skillet before you start cooking

Might be using an oil with too low of a smoke point. Also, proper overhead ventilation helps a bunch.

I made a thread a couple weeks ago asking about the quality of food at Dairy Queen, as I live by one and I've never been. I have always heard mixed opinions on the place, some calling it bottom rung garbage worse than mcdonalds, while others hold it with highest regard reserved only for whataburger, in n out, and other popular fast food establishments that garner a cult following. I've now been twice and will share my experience.

Since the blizzard was good I was a little less apprehensive about ordering the second time. There were quite a few things on the menu but nothing off the wall. I chose to order conservatively anyway and settled for a #1 combo. Basic hamburger, fries, and drink. The burger appears to be dressed almost just like the original whataburger with mustard instead of mayo or ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. Also like whataburger the flagship item does not include cheese. The difference between the two is that Dairy Queen uses rings of red onion whereas Whataburger uses diced white onion. Dairy Queen also uses thicker crinkle cut pickles, whataburger uses thinner straight slices. She asked if I'd like to add cheese, bacon or jalapeño, I agreed to taking all three.

This is my first time posting on /ck/ since I started coming here in 07' and wanted to know what you guys thought.
How bad are Microwaves to the human body? My mother and I use it almost every day for food, when she buys veggies they're the frozen ones you put in the microwave, leftovers we use the microwave.
Now I don't know if this the cause of his death but my father died of brain cancer two years ago and he's never had brain cancer in his family.

I don't believe there is ANY juice in "Orange juice" anymore. I think it's just another artificial drink like soda. They have a financial incentive. 2 liters of OJ sells for $5, but 2 liters of soda is <$2.
