I have a hard time believing you couldn't find another restaurant or starved to death...

>Who the fuck closes their restaurant for lunch?
You are supposed to eat at a cafe for lunch.
>>7477359
You need to get out of bed earlier you lazy prick.
How do coffee people feel about Keurig coffee machines? Do they harm the coffee in any way?
They're overpriced, wasteful, only offer the illusion of convenience and make coffee that's mediocre at best.
They're understandable in a workplace setting where you don't want assholes spilling grounds everywhere but if you use one at home you're a dummy.
It's instant.
May taste good, but is automatically shit.
>harm the coffee
i lol'd
those keurig machines suck and are expensive
i dunno if they "harm" the coffee or not. coffee is coffee and if you're concerned about quality you should get a french press or something or cold brew it.
I was meeting up with some sales reps to get out wine list in order and of course everyone was showing off their rose wines, since the warm weather is about to hit. I hear people at more upscale places complain that the trendy/prestige bottles are hard to come by, but I was impressed by how many good roses there are this year at completely reasonable prices. Provence had a good year, evidently.
Already we've had a one day run on the stuff when the weather warmed up, and we're still pouring the last of out back up from last year!
I'm actually excited for rose season to start. I don't plan on going for any expensive ones this year, because it appears at least some of the cheaper ones came out excellent.
Does /ck/ do rose when April hits?
>>7477197
No, I hate light n fresh cotes du le fucking eurotrash summer plonk. The only roses I'll drink are musar, Lopez de Heredia, and cornelissin. Although bonny doon has a nice one that I can never find.
>>7477216
I'm not as fond of Cotes-du-Rhone roses, but I love the stuff from Provence. As for it being plonk, yeah, it's pretty much picnic or cookout wine. But that doesn't make it taste any less good when the warm weather hits. And I'm obviously not alone, because we sell a ton of the stuff during the spring and summer (and even during the fall, for that matter).
>>7477224
it is still shit, no matter how many people slurp it up
just buy a verdicchio, god damn
Why do you hate me, /ck/?
>>7477125
I don't, you're the only spread I enjoy apart from Vegemite.
>>7477125
No nutritional value, not filling, overrated taste
not peanut butter/10
but I don't hate you nutella, you're still alright to me. I might even mix you with some peanut butter and if you're lucky :)
>>7477125
You see, straya still loves you
>take friend to Korean barbecue for the first time
>he immediately takes control of the grilling and giving me advice
>insists on keeping raw meat tongs and cooked meat tongs separate
>"sterilized" tongs by putting them inside the slots in the grill
>still got sick, nobody else in the group did
>other friend just won't eat anything besides fast food/diner food when we go out
>excuse #1: too broke for a restaurant
>excuse #2: doesn't feel like something different
Why is it so hard to find a culinarily compatible friend? Or am I somehow the fag?
i don't understand. whose barbecue was it? was it his barbecue? if not, why on earth was he taking control of the grill?
>>7477113
I think OP is talking about those barbecue places where they bring you raw ingredients and a small grill to the table so everyone cooks their own shit
I've seen it in Korean films
what's homer mad about?
Amazon seems to be cheaper for several groceries these days, and has free 24 hour delivery. The only problem is that you sometimes have to buy in bulk.
Does anyone buy anything on Amazon or other places rather than their local supermarket? What are some tips/deals etc?
You reminded me of the last time I made artichoke dip in the crock pot.
It was absolutely fantastic but I ended up paying like $10 for just the artichokes.
Sure, just buy the largest size you can store of dry staple foods you like. I just buy 10 or 20kg bags of corn, buckwheat, quality rice etc., the savings are immense
The problem with 2.5kg canned foods is that the stuff has a limited shelf life after opening and needs to be refrigerated. I mean I don't really want to eat the same stuff 4, 5 days in a row, so supermarket sizes tend to be optimal anyway
I've been getting a few supplements and niche items from there. b12, vegan D3, algae oil, dulse flakes (my only consistent source of iodine), flax seeds, broccoli seeds. Flax got really expensive at the local grocery.
explain how this is done

Science has gone too far
rice cooker
Had a hankering for some hard boiled eggs and followed my usual procedure;
Put eggs in a pot of cold water, put pot on the stove at high heat, when it reaches a roiling boil, turn off heat and cover for 10 mins, (which I timed with the microwave) drain hot water and replace with cold water, do this a couple more times, eat hard boiled eggs.
Except this time, as soon as I smacked the egg with a spoon, I could feel that it was soft boiled and sure enough, they all were soft boiled.
They were still tasty and none of them were floaters, so WTF?
I'm thinking I swapped the hot water for cold water too many times / too often.
>struggling to make a hard boiled egg

You mean to say you boiled multiple different batches of water for one batch of eggs?
did this take you an entire hour?
is this bait?
anons gimme the best recipe for the american style pancakes (the ones that your sexy moms make to you)

My mom isn't sexy, you sick fuck.
Is it really so hard for you yuros to put cake mix in a pan?
Sup /ck/. So it turns out I have high blood pressure, it's nothing too extreme and I've only been advised to cut back on the sodium. I need recipes, meal ideas, anything at all. I'm taking this opportunity to eat healthier without bullshit once and for all
>>7476176
Just don't eat heavily processed foods, stay away from commercial lunch meat, control your salt content when cooking, switch to something like lite salt. Drink more water, if you drink soda limit it or try to stop drinking it. You'll be on your way.
>>7476182
Thanks. I've had soda cut from a diet for a while now so I got that handled. I assume it's okay to use spices and herbs instead of seasonings or even lite seasonings right?
>>7476189
Yes, most herbal/spice blend seasonings are fine. Salt based seasonings, like BBQ salt, etc., you should probably avoid, but a little won't kill you either.
onion rings general.
whats your take on these? better than fries? best place for them?
>>7476159

Hey /ck, how does it feel being cheated your whole life?
Jesus, you're just finding out about this? What rock have you been living under? I haven't bought italian olive oil in maybe 15 years
>>7476151
>"I haven't bought italian olive oil in maybe 15 years"
>>Italy one of few places to find legitimate olive oil discussed in link
I've been living under the rock that watched a 60 min episode from a couple weeks ago.
>>7476158
Sorry, I don't own a television, but why would you travel to italy just to avoid counterfeit italian oil? Are you one of those new jersey "eye-talians" who thinks that a thing is automatically better if it came from italy? There are like 40 other countries that produce perfectly good oil, the united states being one of them.
This thing is heavenly, I am going as soon as Taco Bell opens and getting more.

DROPPED
Another shill thread.
Reminder that taco bell meat comes in bags as a sludge, that that they place in heated water so the sludge solidifies into a brick which is then chopped up into "Ground Beef".
Wala~

Da fuq , is this real?
Sup /ck/. Gonna show you how to cook a steak.
Obviously your first step is to heavily butter the steak.
Time to throw that hunk of meat into the microwave. 10 minutes should do it.
>>7475959
i think 10min is abit too much , but go on...
After 10 minutes, my steak came out perfect! Well done is the only way to go with steak like this.
Anyone else get annoyed when people saying cooking is hard?
Literally just follow the instructions. Cooking isn't hard, baking is.
>>7475944
Nah, it's not for everyone. Some people are just terrible at hands on stuff. What bothers me is when people say they hate certain ingredients that are in tons of stuff they eat. No, you mean you hate raw onions.
I want to start up a food product: a flourless cookie.
How do I get it to store shelves? When I make it for myself, I just throw it in the fridge for around 30 minutes and eat it (and sometimes I skip that since it's good as is).
But obviously I can't sell it that way. Would be impossible to package. If I lightly baked it -> put it in plastic wrapping -> put that in a standard box package, would it keep together in the refrigerated section of a store or what?
