Let me start off this thread by saying I am not a shill being paid by Orgain or any other company. I am legitimately interested in this topic.

With that said, has anyone tried Orgain's Creamy Chocolate Fudge nutrition shake? It tasted like fucking cocoa pebbles milk. I remember a few years ago Naked Juice was sued for 9,000,000 for not being "natural" and lying about its ingredients. I only bring that up because I find it so highly unlikely that Orgain is actually good for you considering how good it tastes.

Furthermore, why aren't any of the competing nutrition shake brands anywhere near as tasty?

Organic and natural does not mean healthy.

It tastes like that because its pumped full of sugar.
>>
>>7679185
11g of sugar in 11 ounces. is that a lot?
>>
12 oz of soda has like 42 so that's like a quarter of a sodas worth of sugar and considering these nutritional drinks are meant to at least partially supplement food, that sounds fine.

The problem is it is probably loaded with some kind of fake food like stevia and sweet things can cause you to eat more sweet things so basically it's all and well unless you start eating more because of it.

Now the blueberry is one that can't work on its own. It has to have something with it, like the kiwi. It's not a...a stand alone...a stand alone fruit.

Um.

>this isn't Burger King. You can't have it your way

Their slogan has become so ubiquitous, that it's spawned its own anti-slogan/figure of speech, but why is "having it your way" so special? Every fast food restaurant accommodates to requests like no pickles or extra sauce.

Because us eliquent people in burgerland are so prestigious (in all tax brackets mind you) that we will scoff at even the slightest of errors just to be able to complain about it. Because as we know here, a complaint = free stuff/money. You step on my big toe? You owe me $50k for emotional damages to my toe's feelings.

>Definitely Using

When i make it i like it almost like a tomato slurry. Put it in the fridge over night and it gets good. Mine is simple. Lots of tomatos, white onions, jalepenos, garlic, cilantro and salt. All fesh. Food processor until it is tiny chunks and tomato juice.

The chunky stuff looks better but trust me. After a day in the fridge you will want to drink this stuff.
>>
>>7678971
put some fennel and serrano over jalepeno , always. habaneros if possible.
>>
>Put chili, onion, tomatoes, garlic in oven on high heat, let it get charred on the outside
>Take out from oven, let it rest until manageable cooled
>Chop everything up with a knife, add salt, coriander, lime juice other spices

I'm having some friends round for a few games of poker and some beers this weekend.
Instead of ordering in pizza I'm going to have fondu. So far I'll be getting cubed fillet steak, tofu and tuna.
What else is good in fondu?

I'd recommend a spicy broth or heated oil for simmering meat.
Sourdough bread chunks are also mandatory dipping material.

I gave your mum a golden shower

Just made a big pot of pork and beans and honestly it doesn't have the big flavour I thought it would have. Have no idea how to make it, so I just threw everything in a slow cooker and left it for 6 hours.

I put in
>4 cups navy beans
>cup of ketchup
>half cup of brown sugar
>3 cloves of garlic
>pork hocks
>pork feet
>salt
>2 tbspn dried mustard
>lots of water

Pulled the meat off the hocks and mixed in after 6 hrs. And I just fucking realized I meant to put in 1 cup of molasses and forgot... Should I put it in now? What can I do differently next time?

Recently I was in Tanzania working in a hospital in Dar es Salaam. The local food at the hospital canteen and most street cafes was amazing, simple filling stuff.
I'm really craving the beef stew and beans, anyone know a recipe? Been searching online but I've found no recipes that seem authentic.
Pic related, pretty much exactly how I had it. Beef stew on bottom left

They have small portions of the stew, presumably because meat is expensive.
Found this pic on a hotel menu. From what I can remember the sauce looked deep red, often there were carrots or okra.
It was usually a thin sauce though, all the recipes I've found online suggest coconut milk and potato. While I've eaten that there, it's not the dish I'm thinking of.
We just called it "wali nyama", meat and rice

i stayed in moshi for a couple of months on my gap yah

i remember having beef/goat and plantain/banana stew with ugali quite a lot, sometimes with braised greens that i'm going to guess were collard/mustard greens or something like kale. the meat varied quite a lot but i would use shank or oxtail or rib meat personally. i remember cumin, turmeric and coriander, probably some kind of curry powder was generally used.

the beans we used to have with chapatis. i feel like they were cooked down with coconut milk and sometimes a puree of onions, peppers, tomatoes and spices like what might be used to make jollof rice.

little bonus tidbit - we did kili and when we came back they offered to cook us our favourite white people food and the consensus was that we wanted spag bol. they made it for us along with a huge heap of grated cheese, something none of us had eaten for ages. we all put shitloads of cheese on top of the sauce and watched in amazement as it seemed to melt incredibly quickly. turns out it was butter

Anybody living in a flyover place have trouble finding lots of things? All we really have here is a Walmart and they have hardly any cheese, they don't sell ducks, no good seafood (sashimi grade is non-existent), etc.

We also don't really have much of an Asian community so lots of ingredients used in Chinese or Korean cooking are impossible to find.

As for the stuff that doesn't need to be refrigerated, you can usually get it off Amazon but it's about 4x the normal price.

Is there a better place to get these types of ingredients over the internet? Does anybody order raw meat online?

I'm in the UK and ive tried it but dunno how it translates in the US. It works, your stuff comes with cold packs and shit to stay chilled and is well insulated. I've noticed local butchers and farms have started selling 'meat boxes' with next day delivery in their own vans and stuff so you could google that.

You could always pay premium for the delivery if the seller is across the country. Duck seems to be rare in murrica but I reckon there are some breeders out there. For asian stuff, look up asian grocery sites in your area. A quick search for 'asian grocery us' shows me http://www.asiansupermarket365.com/.

Look up reviews for the site before you buy.

Google, google and google!

But your kids and grandkids will make fun of you, and you'll have to live with the fact that you're expending more effort to achieve inferior results.
I just think some part of my humanity will die. I guess it's true of any task humans do now that can be replaced, but for some reason this just hits me harder.

Okay, I am a food novice and don't have a very refined palette. So laugh at me all you want, but I seriously want to know: is pic related Salmon? It was stated at the restaurant that I bought it from that it is in fact Salmon, but I have heard stories of restaurants swapping it out for Tuna instead? Is that true? Any stories to share?
