What was your favorite thing served in your school cafeteria? Said cafeteria food can be from elementary school, middle school, high school, and even college. Or if we have any senior citizens here from the nursing home cafeteria.
What's your favorite cafeteria food?
Mine always was an open face turkey sandwich.

I always liked that square cafeteria pizza... I miss it.
>>7693240
>your parents could afford the cafeteria meals
i think it was every thursday we would have the choice between fried chicken or pizza and it wasnt the shitty white square one it was some fast food tier pizza
How do you eat your eggs.
>>7700712
Usually sunny side up desu. I always used to flip them and make em all ugly, but then I learned to do it properly, and ever since I've been a sucker for that runny yolk.
I also make tamago once in a while, and I'd like to get more diverse and creative with omelets in general. Unfortunately I've got a crooked ass electric range (college) which makes it really difficult to keep egg from just running to one side of the pan. And the temperature control on electric ranges is garbage. Avoid at all reasonable cost.
>>7700730
>I also make tamago
Doesn't tamago mean just "egg"?
Sunny side up, poached, medium boiled or scrambled
What are these things supposed to be called?
>>7693420
Little Hugs is the brand I believe.
they're just juice boxes in a different shape.
muh memories ;_;
>>7693420
Pretty sure they're just called juice barrels
What is this? A cook-along?
Diced onions carmelizing and 90% gb for less grease
Meat onion garlic dill
Microwaving a potato wrapped in wet paper towel because I forgot to and it's important
Whenever I eat lasagne I scrape the cheese off the top layer. I've never done this in public because I haven't ordered lasagne at a restaurant, but if I did I would scrape there too. I just really hate cheese.
I only open up canned drinks partially, just enough to hear the gas escape, and suck the drink out.
when I get a fresh hot pizza for myself I always stick it in the freezer 10~20 mins before I eat any so the cheese will be congealed

My girlfriend is exactly the same. Its because once a bug got inside her can.
Is this true?

breakfast is a dumb meal
supper is a dumb meal
the only two meals you need are dinner and brunch
>>7685853
Eat only a giant lunch each day to grow some big-ass titties.
I only eat dinner and I have abs. My dinners are like 2500 calories
Do any of you hold an actual "Chef" position; i.e. not a line cook, sous chef, etc?
How did you get it? How long did it take you?
>>7699027
and how much are you making?
I'm a chef at Wendy's.
>>7699027
I am a chef at one of Gordon Ramsey's restaurants in LA. Not executive chef but I will work up hopefully. I got the job initially because my dad new one of the people that does the hiring, and I got it right out of college.
Its been pretty awesome, I don't think I'm a very good cook yet but I am happy I deserved the chance to work here.
>go to five guys
>order bacon cheeseburger with a small fry
>no drink, just a free cup for water
>$12.78
>burger was tiny
Why the FUCK is allowed?
>>7698562
Five Guys is meme food.
>>7698562
If it's not worth that to you then don't pay for it.
Wanna know why I like to eat at "overpriced" restaurants? I do it because there are fewer disgusting poor people with their fat, sweatpant-clad asses sweating all over the place and talking about prole-tier sports and TV in their uneducated trash-language. I'm paying to eat in a better atmosphere.
Go back to McD's where you belong.

Living far away from Texas, I always dreamed about eating USA styled ribs. Longly smoked then roasted on the BBQ.
A ribfest is taking place where I live and some Texans were there selling their meaty creations.
I was so deceived. The meat was dry and it was a salt bomb. It wasn't bad but definitely not worth the hype.
Also the coleslaw was actually a cabbage flavored mayonnaise.
>meaty creations
>>7693864
>I had bad ribs
>I will base all my thoughts on one experience
And what the fuck does Texas have to do with anything? We're a brisket state, KC and the Coastal south do ribs.
You are A#1 special ed
>never had real stroganoff before - only instant hamburger helper kind
>decide to make the real thing from scratch with fresh mushrooms and white wine, real beef stock, real sour cream etc
spend a good hour making a gigantic pot
>take first bite
>it tastes exactly then fucking same as the instant box crap
fucking kill me now
>he fell for the homemade is always better than boxed meme
>>7691696
It might taste similar, but at least the taste of yours is being produced by actual ingredients, not some powder. Stop bitching and eat your stroganoff.
>>7691696
yours was probably healthier tho'

Why are so many people anti soda? How shit must your diet be if you cant fit a can of soda in with a meal, which is like what 220 calories st most?
>>7689984
The theory is that soda is sweet and sweet things are enjoyed more by children. Adults prefer more bitter flavors like beer and bold red wine with their meals
That being said I love a nice Coca Cola and there are a lot of specialty sodas that have very interesting flavor profiles. I once had a cucumber rose water soda and it was quite the experience
I for one can do without kidney stones.
>>7689984
It's nutritionally void
It tastes sickly sweet
It contains an unhealthy amount of sugar
I'd rather spend the money on other things.
Well, /ck/?
You guys are expert in food, right?
>>7689628
Nuget
Nachos
Nectarine
Nuts
>>7689638
They want something tasty, not repulsive.
>Nigella
Would /ck/ ever open a restaurant? What would you serve?
I have an opportunity to open a small eatery in a busy suburban town across from a courthouse. The thing is, I'm a vegetarian, I'd like my menu to be vegetarian, although I realize this would largely be a mistake. I'm having trouble justifying including meat though. I wouldn't claim to be a vegetarian eatery, I just wouldn't want to serve meat. What do?
Also, restaurant general
bait thread
fuck off
Well you can pretty easily justify including meat by remembering that most restaurants hemorrhage money out of every orifice, so you really need to be goddamned sure that a niche exists that make vegetarianism sustainable here.
>>7689104
I'm working on culinary school to open a reataurant someday
I think vegetarian/vegan is definitely doable but you want to not play it up. There are many many many different cuisines in the world that have a lot of really tasty, filling vegan and vegetarian dishes. Go from there and then don't even let people know it's a vegetarian restaurant. If the food is authentic and well made and not shitty and flavorless people wont even think about it lacking meat.
