Hey /ck/
Any of you guys tried these cinnamon rolls at Papa Johns?
Gonna order a small pizza for football today and thinking of trying these out.
Any good or no?
I thought they were pretty good. Warm, gooey. It's what it's supposed to be.

Sounds good. I'll try em out then
So for christmas i want to make a bunch of gingerbread and i used to have a good recipe but its lost anyone have one thats better than what i could find on the innernet? Also i wanted to try baking some other kinds of biscuts but i dont know what really goes with gingerbread. Any help would be appreciated, im not the best with this shit

375g/13oz unsalted butter
300g/10½oz dark muscovado sugar
150g/5½oz golden syrup
900g/2lb plain flour
1 tbsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tbsp ground ginger
For the icing
3 free-range egg whites
675g/1½lb icing sugar, sifted
3 tsp lemon juice
Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6 (fan 180C).
Melt the butter, sugar and syrup together in a large pan. Sieve the flour, bicarbonate of soda and ground ginger together into a large bowl and make a well in the centre. Pour in the melted butter mixture, stir it in and, when cool enough to handle, knead to a stiff dough.
Roll out and cut into desired shapes bake the gingerbread for 7-8 minutes.
For the icing, whisk the egg whites in a large bowl until frothy. Using a wooden spoon or a hand-held electric mixer on slow speed, add the icing sugar a tablespoonful at a time. Stir in the lemon juice and beat the icing until it is very stiff and white and stands up in peaks. Cover the surface with a damp cloth if not using immediately.
Let cool then ice using a piping bag or a resealable bag with the corner cut out.
Might not "go with" gingerbread, but shortbread is easy to make and it would be a nice alternative to offer people who don't like gingerbread (if you're baking for others, and not just stocking your own pantry full of gingerbread men). You could make them into the same shapes too.
To mark the joyful appointment of President Elect Trump this week... I'll show you how to make that classic American dish: burgers.
You join me as my butter-milk dough has doubled and my beef is semi-frozen.
Roll out your dough into buns and place them on a greased baking tray. Cover and leave them back in your warm place for 30-45 minutes.
Get to work dicing your semi-frozen beef as finely as you can. Once it's diced, pound it (I used a pestle and mortar) to encourage some cross linking of proteins so that it just about sticks together as a patty. Don't overwork.
Carefully uncover the risen buns and carefully brush with an egg yolk wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Throw them in the oven.

How do you guys prepare your tuna for a tuna sub?
I just open a can and add mayonnaise and lime
Enjoy your mercury poisoning

I mix a tsp of dijon mustard and a tsp of mayonaise, some chopped green onions, white pepper and a little lemon juice. If it was packed in water instead of olive oil, I add some EVO.

Extra virgin olives?
I currently have not enough free time, a good amount of disposable income, and only a microwave to cook with. So I've been trying out TV dinners, and I haven't been impressed with most of them. Best one I've found so far is the Stouffers italiano Lasagna, but most other ones are bland at best.
Does anyone else eat stuff like this on the regular, if so, what's your favorite variety?
Michael Angelos is superior desu.
If you have the money, just eat out.
Dr. Oetker pizzas are pretty good though.
The "health food" section has some good stuff, not sure how healthy it actually is and don't care but they actually have interesting dishes and try a little harder I think. Some regular grocery stores will have this stuff. Otherwise you may have to go to a more upscale store like harris teeter or trader joes (but I would still avoid whole foods since the markup is so ridiculous).
Amy's, bertolli, kashi, evol, saffron road to name a few reliable brands with lots of options. You will be surprised by how good some of this stuff is, and if money wasn't a concern for me I would eat this shit all the time.

Is there any difference between McCormick and store brand spices? I know store brand sugar seems to clump a lot.
>>8269470
They're both awful.
>>8269470
I think store brand products are typically made with the leftover or shittiest quality of the same stuff used for the higher tier brand stuff.
>>8269489
>thinks mccormick spices are higher tier
Uh, no.
Today I realised I love beer but I never use it for cooking.

So, what is the patrician way of preparing oats?
pic unrelated
I don't know about patrician, but I do know about making it taste good. Make thick porridge (I like to add a good handful of sultanas), don't add any sweetener at this stage, but salt it reasonably well (teaspoon per pint sort of thing). Let it cool and solidify. You can then slice it - take a slice about an inch thick and fry it in butter, sprinkle it liberally with demerara or muscovado sugar, and eat it.

Please tell me you're not one of those degenerate slobs who lick their fingers after every bite, are you, /ck/?
