I ate something I didn't have to label like a 4 year old.
>>8258941
What'd you have, uptight faggot stew?
>>8258947
I considered having that but I went with goulash.
Thoughts on raw broccoli?
It has an unique spicey flavor that i relish.
>>8258160
SHIT TIER EATING. BROCCOLI IS BETTER COOKED IN VIRTUALLY EVERY WAY.
>>8258160
I like the crunch more than anything. It's about the only thing I'll eat with ranch dressing.
what do they taste like then? I was always Quaker guy myself. Its cold up here and nothing beats a warm bowel.
>>8258133
HONESTLY THEY TASTE LIKE APPLE
>>8258133
Sweet with a bit of citric flavor. Most people like them.
>>8258133
Kaffir lime leaves with a touch of cinnamon. Basically they're slightly different Froot Loops.
>warm bowel
You need to drink less before posting homie.
>steak sauce saving an undercooked steak
>>8257980
What's your point?
>>8257980
IF YOU NEED A SAUCE TO SAVE A STEAK YOU NEED TO SEND IT BACK OR THROW IT IN THE TRASH. NOT WORTH THE CALORIES.
There is no such thing as an undercooked steak.
I want to make pumpkin challah stuffing this thanksgiving, because it looks interesting, but it looks like it would take almost as much time to shape and braid the challah as the rest of the recipie combined, even though I'm just going to end up cutting it into pieces. Does the shaping add a purpose, or is it just decorative/religious? Can I just use the recipe, but bake it like a normal loaf of bread instead of doing it all fancy?
http://toriavey.com/toris-kitchen/2010/10/pumpkin-challah/
>Does the shaping add a purpose
no. it's just decorative.
>>8257648
It's decorative. Looking at the recipe you could use bakery bought challah and hack it with the spices and pumpkin purée; I personally wouldn't go through the trouble if I was just going to make stuffing out of it tbqh
>>8257648
Shape it up. Challah is fucking awesome, and shaping it isn't hard, just takes a little practice.
Protip: make Challah for weekday dinner, then use the stale slices for weekend French toast. Egg bread in egg dip with powdered sugar. 10/10, goyim
Does /ck/ approve of my improvised Alfredo?
>>8257638
As long as you like it...
>>8257638
Would have looked better if you took the picture with the dollop of sauce on top of the pasta, instead of already mixed.
Looks pretty tasty tho, would eat.
Is he right?

God, I hate you OP.
A few days ago I posted a thread saying the few attempts I've had at cooking steak had left them really tough and chewy any time I tried cooking em any less than well done. A handful of people gave me simple advice and after a few attempts it and today I feel I accomplished what I'd always hoped for and I am proud of myself (nohomo)
Never had a steak at a restaurant or anything so juicy medium or medium rare stuff I'd see on TV or pictures always looked so good. Mine came out juicy and tasty. Pic related. Wasn't like mind melting or anything but the whole experience of preparation and cooking and applying advice, experience and the timing of my last 2 attempts was an overall satisfying experience
so I wanted to say thanks to the ppl who responded and thank u /ck/
I wish u tasty meals and opportunities to learn
>>8256818
You're a fag
>>8256818
Now you need to learn how to something else, maybe a side dish that isn't sad fries.
Did you let it rest after it came off the heat? You lost a lot of juice.
Also get a better cut of meat. If you can shop at a Costco, they have pretty good deals on packs of ribeye and they're usually pretty damn good quality.
I just started the soylent diet. Tastes really good, like a breakfast shake, and don't have to waste any time either. DEfinitely a delicious thing, these soylents.

Question for the cooks
How do you deal with being the new guy at your new jobs?
I want to be cool with my co workers, but the last 2 jobs I've had people just have bad vibes. Maybe it's because I look young as fuck.
At the jobs where I'm instructing new people I always try to introduce myself and be nice. But since I've moved to California my co workers have been real cocks; whether that be because I'm just new or what I don't know.
I'm just venting I guess.
I used to work at a place like this. Kitchen crew worked well enough but everyone was a jerk and gave me a hard time. Eventually I decided to get back at them. I got to work early before everyone else and dropped a deuce into the deep fryer. I wasn't working on the fry station that day, so the poor schmuck who was had about 20 minutes of heating up oil (and a few handfuls of pre-dinner rush mozzarella sticks) fried with my fresh turd to deal with.
The head chef realised something was up pretty quickly once the stench started filling the place. Dumbass on the fryer ended up being fired on the spot and we had to take all fried dishes off the menu that night.

hey those guys kinda look like the republican frog :D lol
I'm working my first industry job right now. Luckily, the bartenders, owner and kitchen manager already seem like me better than everyone else in the kitchen. Try being a better, more likeable person.
having a party, is this a good party favor?
I want something tasty, but not too tasty where the slobs at my party will consume it all leaving none for the cool guests. Thanks,
>>8256180
they're pretty good
bring some hummus for dipping
I rally like them but there is a special flavor with pepper and garlic, dont remember the name but they are super addicting
Do you know what a party favour is? Are you ganna send your guests home with bags of pretzels as a gift? Fucking moron.
Also, I think they taste like shit. Go for pita chips. They're tasty, but dry and fairly bland.
hey /ck/... you in bro?
What the fuck do I do with shallots? I've been cooking for a few years and just bought a few. Put them in a beef stew and it turned out incredible.
What else can these things do?
they're good in stir fry, good in peanut sauce, you can do tacos with them, etc.
>>8255416
What's something that'll showcase it? It's such a unique flavor and I really want to enjoy it.
