/ck/, I feel like treating myself to something special but I'm not sure what. I just got test results showing that my cancer is in full remission and I want something nice to celebrate. Normally I'd buy a steak but I'm a little tired of always doing the same thing. So what do you make or buy when you're in a special mood?
Pic related, my normal standby.

Congratulations and best of luck with the cancer thing!
Whenever I have something to celebrate or I have a good friend over, and I have plenty of time to spend in the kitchen, I usually make a big beef stew with amongst other ingredients sweet potato and stout beer.
Make one for two days and you'll have another day of celebration. It will taste even better the second day.
What's the best way to prepare hot dog sandwiches?
Smith and Wesson revolver, one bullet, one barrel in mouth.
Pull trigger.
Total time: 30 seconds
Fuck your bait thread

Grill hot dawg, throw it into toasty bun. top with caramelized (or raw I don't care) onions and brown mustard .
is this the God-spice? it works with almost everything. name me one thing other than salt and black pepper that is so versatile.

Ghirardelli chips are oishi.
>>8290440
i just buy proper chocolate instead and cut it up with a knife, i like that the chunks aren't all same sized and it's cheaper
plus better variety of chocolates to choose from

Just finished my lunch, I had pommes anna with rice and now I ask
>why this useless board never told me to try simple yet perfect food?
>should I buy some expensive butter to improve the pie?
I used the cheapest butter I found and it came great anyway. My only regret is not pouring the remaining melted butter on top of the rice.
>Thinly sliced potatoes soaked in butter
We didn't tell you about it because we generally don't recommend peasant food soaked in grease to stop you from turning into fat fucks

>peasant food
you had to google what it is you fuckin pleb ahahahah

Not him, but you are retarded and awful at baiting.
So I bought some chicken drumsticks about 10 days ago, then today I took them out of the fridge and put them in my marinade to make fried chicken. I noticed there were parts of the drumsticks that had turned green. The use-by date was only the 16th of November so I thought it'd be fine, but now I'm no so sure. They were in a sealed package that I only opened just now. Anyone experienced this before? Is it safe to eat?
I'd take a photo but I haven't got a camera right now.
Pic related, it looked a bit like this only green and the discolouring was much fainter.
>>8289805
Does it smell bad?
>>8289826
Yeah, the smell almost made me throw up, but it's not a bad smell, just a really strong chicken smell.
>>8289831
>Yeah, the smell almost made me throw up,
That means they are perfectly fine.....
fucking idiot; please eat them and die. The world needs to be cleansed of all you imbeciles
What's the BEST thing at Weinerschnitzel and why is it the Polish Sandwich?
I hate how the bread sticks to the top of your mouth, but otherwise it's still pretty ok. My dad used to take me to get one of these on his off days when I was a kid. We stopped going there because we had so many.
I dont eat meat im vegan

Fermenting ground meat? I've never heard of it until recently.
Post stories/recipes/methods/opinions.

Many dry and semi-dry sausages have bacteria cultures added to them and are fermented during the curing process. It provides an important flavor component that you would immediately notice if it weren't present.
sounds dangerous
What are your favorite meals to cook on a budget?
This is my hamburger patty steak, my family loves it.
Wow, how cool to be from the future where your parents raised you on the Starship Enterprise!!!
>>8289380
Doesn't look good, but who am I to judge; I don't even know how it tastes.
I just buy lots of chicken breasts at a cheap grocery store and freeze it. I also buy whatever vegetables they have in bulk and combine that with he chicken.
Every now and then they'll have something like beef, or pork, or fish on sale and I'll buy as much as I can afford and freeze it alongside the chicken.
This month I'm dining on chicken breast and alternating broccoli and cauliflower every night with the odd meal of shrimp that was on sale.
All other meals are salads because some form of leafy greens are always on sale where I shop and, luckily, spinach was on sale last week.
Looks like a bunch of burnt condoms
What's your favourite poverty meal, /ck/? Mine's dandelion salad.
youtu.be/51VhG8MKxJY
Bread balls.
You take 3 slices of bread, cut off the crusts, roll one into a ball, then wrap it up with the other two slices. Then you microwave it. You give the crusts to the outside cats, everyone wins.
>>8289247
Tuna and peanut butter.
>>8289247
>dandelion salad
Have you checked the price of dandelion greens at whole foods lately? It's big time hipster.
Sure, if you pick them out of your yard, along with lambs quarter, in the spring like I do, it's poverty food. But if I have a yard, am I poor? Not by most measurements.
Lately I've taken a real interest in cooking with local, fresh ingredients whenever possible, given that we have a twice-weekly farmers market where I'm studying. In your opinion, where are some of the best places in the US to live in close proximity to fresh, local fish and farmers markets?
Bonus points if there's good places to hunt in relatively close proximity.
>>8289172
Do you want access year round? California would be your best bet.
>>8289209
This. Especially NorCal around the Bay area where all the produce is actually grown. There's a reason it has the highest concentration of Michelin stars in the country.

Does smoking cigarettes fuck up your taste buds? If I was to quit smoking and switch to vaping, would they recover over time?
it fucked up mine. when i quit smoking, i noticed a huge difference in tastes as well as smells
no idea if they're 100% back to normal but they recover, yea
I quit smoking and started vaping. Then I quit vaping. I would advise you to do the same and not end up a vape cunt.
Literally nothing but pros from doing this. And yes food does taste different. IDK about better, but it tastes different.
>>8289087
>switch to vaping
miles well start smoking fedoras
Do you cu/ck/s like orange juice with or without the pulp? And explain why.
I don't care either way, as long as it comes from a ripe valencia orange. Commercially available oranges juice is so shit most of you guys have no idea how good it can be
>>8288893
With, it adds thickness and is more satisfying. Without it, it's like any other fruit juice, too thin.
Without. I do pride myself in french sauce making so I would have to strain out any pulp or I'd be afraid a fat chef would scream at me.
