So I bought some chicken drumsticks about 10 days ago, then today I took them out of the fridge and put them in my marinade to make fried chicken. I noticed there were parts of the drumsticks that had turned green. The use-by date was only the 16th of November so I thought it'd be fine, but now I'm no so sure. They were in a sealed package that I only opened just now. Anyone experienced this before? Is it safe to eat?
I'd take a photo but I haven't got a camera right now.
Pic related, it looked a bit like this only green and the discolouring was much fainter.

Does it smell bad?

Yeah, the smell almost made me throw up, but it's not a bad smell, just a really strong chicken smell.

>Yeah, the smell almost made me throw up,
That means they are perfectly fine.....

Chicken is fine.
Heat it until it is pink the the middle and eat.

Nope, too long.
Some foods you have some wiggle room with regarding the use-by date. Meat is not one of them.

bin it mate

Consider it a lesson learned and don't make that mistake again.
If you buy meat you should be using it within a day or two, or freezing it, not letting it sit for over a week.
