Here's the dinner I served for you.
>Roast duck with a chili pepper honey glaze and garnished with lemon slices and pomegranates seeds
>Asparagus seared in a olive oil coated cast iron pan and covered with salt, ground pepper, and finally garnished with thin slices of parmesan cheese.
>Chopped up potatoes, leeks, and carrots and placed underneath the duck to cook in the duck's fat.
Rate it.
asparagus out of season probably tastes like wood
everything else looks good
>>8446921
Pomegranate was out of season too apparently cause I couldn't find the fruit, only this kind of containers full of it's seeds. Tasted slightly fermented.
I enjoyed the aspargus though. I peeled the stalks so it would be more raw and lessy stringy and dry.
Also this was my first experience with duck.
It tastes like beef. Like, I wouldn't have been able to tell it was duck if I didn't personally carve it off the bird. Except for the thigh legs though. The thigh meat tasted like chicken.
How many soft drinks per day is too many? Sometimes it feels like I'm addicted. I drank two Powerades this morning, three Cokes this afternoon, and I'm drinking a Coke now as I type this. I rarely if ever drink water or tea.
I'm skinny, btw.
>>8446876
One is too many.
>>8446883
this, I drink sweet tea and I feel guilty about that
doesnt matter how skinny you are im skinny and i got diabetes
you need to switch to water and non caloric beverages like tea immediately
Why do people only eat chicken with their salads? Is there really no other meats that go well with it?
>>8446872
>eat chicken tenders
>"how childish"
>"so immature"
>"embarassing"
>chop up chicken tenders
>add sliced lettuce and tomato
>add buttermilk dipping sauce
>"wow, so healthy!"
>"you really have good taste anon"
>"you're really inspiring me to stick to my diet"
wtf is wrong with normies.
>>8446872
You've never seen a lamb salad or a beef salad or a salad with cured or dried meats?
>>8446872
>what is ham
kill yourself
Does anybody actually enjoy pulp, or is it just something that edgy kids pretend to enjoy for the sake of being edgy, like black coffee or something?
>>8446852
First off, black coffee is delicious. Secondly pulp in any juice isn't something you'd appreciate unless you've had it hand squeezed.
Enjoy page 10.
This is /ck/ so I'm sure you'll find some edgy contrarian who likes pulp.
>>8446865
Half true. Black coffee is the best coffee. Pulp sucks. OP is definitely a faggot.
And....
Wa-la
How ARE the Colts doing this season?
Woo! Go home team!

Bread and butter pickles
Light mayo
Thin tomato
Red onion
Arugula
Little bit of horseradish mustard

it's,
Is avocado really that good?
Ive had it a few times and while not disgusting, it isn't some amazing food that God himself bestowed on us.
>Is Avocado good? I've eaten it before but need the internet to reinforce my opinion otherwise I can't allow myself to have it
That aside, Avocado is a meme food.
>>8446558
I enjoy using it with spicy foods. I make a bacon avocado burger with a chipotle sauce. Cold avocado counters the spicy nicely.
>sourdough toast
>avocado
>more black pepper than anyone should allow
always will be my favorite breakfast
Muh momma met him in NYC other night. Very nice and even gave them a tour and everything. Also he's a Buddhist

did they bone?
Uh, yeah. You already told us.

His show on Netflix is surprisingly boring. I don't give a shit about Australia.
Later today, I'm going to go to a Chinese grocery store and pick up a big 20 kg bag of rice to cook in a rice cooker. There are a dozen or so different brands that make a bag of rice in this size. Last time I just bought one at random and it was fine. I don't even remember the brand I bought - Calrose? Kokuho?
I figured this time I might get a suggestion to see if anyone knows anything about this or has a reason for preferring one or the other. Which brand of rice should I buy?
>>8446197
Depending on the dishes, you may want to use different rice.
I personally use basmati rice for asian dishes, and round grain rice for mediterranean dishes, risotto or milk rice.
Just ask the female staff there. Explain what kind of dishes you make and she will help you out. Buy 1kg from 2-3 types/brands and try them out. Once you've settled on the type, go ahead and buy your container shipment
That jasmine right there in your pic is a pretty good all purpose choice.
If you're looking for standard short-grain rice, just don't buy the cheapest kind. There is a wide spectrum running from cheap and cheerful to high end koshi hikari whatever. What I personally would buy depends on what's on sale, where the rice is from, how rapidly I intend to consume it, etc.
Depending on your rice cooker it may be able to cook different kinds of rice too.
Does anybody actually order these when they go to the burger dispensary? Do they actually eat the third bun?
Is that a food?
>>8445994
Burgers are prole vittles.
Try not eating with your hands in public, savage.
I need some advice, /ck/.
I am terrible at cooking and don't know what I'm doing. I can follow many recipes but always awkwardly and I'm sure I'm not doing basic shit right. How I can get better and learn the fundamentals, short of attending classes/cooking school?
I don't own a recipe book, but feel like I am probably missing the tools (both physical tools and fundamental skills) that I'd need to really use a cooking book properly. For example, basic shit like how to use a chef's knife, when to use a cleaver, how to fry food in a pan, how to tell when certain foods are done, how and when to simmer vs boil foods, etc. I'd eventually like to learn when and why to use one spice over another, different ways to cook different foods, what foods go well together and so forth, but really what I need most right now are cooking skills and knowledge of how to use different kitchen tools.
eres un vejetariano amrica idiota

Try google.

>I am probably missing the tools (both physical tools and fundamental skills) that I'd need to really use a cooking book properly
so, you can't read?
Is it wrong to love a sandwich?
No, but it's wrong to endlessly shitpost about it on a scandinavian poetry forum especially when that particular sandwich is only decent at best and not worthy of the praise you espouse.
>>8445974
Not if it's a Cuban.

Gravy is good for fixing up dry dinners with potatoes. But what do you do with rice?
I've tried soy sauce, but it's not much of a sauce at all really. And by the time you've added enough to moisten the rice, it's way too salty.
There's a lot of rice in my cultures diet. We usually use meat gravies or stewed beans. Sometimes both.
>>8445874
I use ranch
>>8445874
I like to use Chicken Kitchen mustard-curry sauce on my yellow rice when I dine there. It's mostly mayo, but hey, it's addictive.
At home, rice is usually the intentionally bland counterpart to something very nicely flavored, from a stir fry, to red beans and sausage to a spicy yogurt chicken.
If I wanted my rice to have more than bland flavor, it'd be some kind of casserole, from dirty rice to wild rice with mushrooms, to cuban moros y cristianos to risotto.
Who /fastfoodworker/ here?
>>8445740
i used to be. what are you planning do with this thread?
>>8445747
Nothing
>>8445753
ah, so the same as with your career
Are there any flavors you enjoy which you don't like the artificial version of, or vice versa?
Or, otherwise, any ingredients you enjoy in dishes but not by themselves or vice versa?
Like grapes but hate grape flavored candy.
also wish blue raspberry was a real thing.
>>8445769
artificial banana flavor always tastes wrong. I've heard the flavor of it is based off of a banana cultivar that is no longer grown today, but that's probably a meme.
sour apple flavor is dog shit. I hate it
Watermelon and strawberry flavors are usually trash too.
blue raspberry is dope, even though it tastes nothing like raspberry, and orange is a good pick too.
cherry flavored anything tastes like cough syrup to me.
>>8445849
>I've heard the flavor of it is based off of a banana cultivar that is no longer grown today, but that's probably a meme.
Odds are it's a meme.
The flavour of a fruit is really complex, you need at least dozens of different molecules to mimic it properly. However, actually synthesizing and adding all of those would cost too much, so only the main components are added.
For banana, this means good quality stuff will get a half dozen different esters and alcohols... but cheap stuff goes with only isoamyl acetate, the main component. It makes the distinctive smell of banana by itself, but things still tastes/smells really off due to the other molecules missing.
