What do you think about The Food Ranger?
>>8452877
A massive pest, troubling Chinese people who are known to be closed to foreigners.
I didn't think anyone could be creepier than mark wiens, but that is very certainly FALSE

This is a secret sauce.
Can /ck/ decrypt the ingredients.
It's spicy, almost as liquid as water.
Based on my smell and taste research here's my possible list of ingridients:
Cayenne pepper
Black pepper
Vinegar of some soft but not sure which, when smelled it very strong spicy smell
Are you good enough to crack the recipe code for this?
Yeah from the information given it has cayenne pepper, black pepper, vinegar, and potentially water.

what's the tiny white stuff?
>>8452726
what does it taste like? compare it to something
So a quick question on the matter of cooking legumes in a rice cooker.
How do you recommend cooking dried split peas with rice?
Normally I soak the peas in water for about 6 hours, then put them in the rice cooker with the rice and cook them together.
Now here's the problem, when the rice cooker finishes, the rice is far more soggy than normal, and the peas are harder than they're supposed to be.
Also, any advice for a broke af student in terms of cooking options would be nice. Pic related is my pantry

The suite of Fuller's is pretty good, their ESB, porter, and london pride ale. Samuel Smith is great beer too, their oatmeal stout is heavenly. Maybe the best stout I've ever had.

I spilled a bunch of garlic juice on my carpet.
Anybody have some ideas on how to get it out?
It's a pretty big spill and my room smells.
>>8452475
Rent one of those carpet steam cleaners from the supermarket.
...and why the fuck were you carrying garlic juice anywhere near a carpet? Are you one of those fucks that eats in their room instead of in the kitchen or dining area?
>>8452484

Marinate in soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic, honey, mirin, black pepper, hot red pepper, cilantro and lime juice for 2-4 hours. Skewer and grill over charcoal. Blow me a kiss for thanks when you've tasted it!
I just did a blind tasting with my friend tonight. I wrote a list of a dozen types of wines I've had (bordeaux, ventoux, beaujolais, california cab, oregon pinot noir, australian shiraz, argentinian malbec, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Popped by the liquor store and bought 4 (at random).
I put on a blind fold, the wine was in brown bags, he poured all four, and with prescision I got each one correct without having to guess.
I didn't think it would be this easy.
>>8451800
You idiot, of course it would be easy. They are all distinct styles.
Try comparing say, a shiraz from one country to another.
My friend popped down to the liquor store and bought the wine. I sat at home watching the Critic.
I didn't see the labels until after I tasted the wine.
I remember back when a Mouton Cadet and a Bouchard Aines et Fils tasted exactly the same to me. Now I can tell if I'm drinking MC or BAF if poured one in my glass on a random night without telling me.
It's as obvious as Pepsi and Dr. Pepper.
>>8451802
> Try comparing say, a shiraz from one country to another.
I didn't want to make it that hard on myself.
I'm not sure I can differentiate Australian from South African Shiraz yet. They're both peppery, red fruit, medium body, high-mid tannins.
Where would I start trying to tell the difference unless I started drinking both and picking up on where they diverge?
The last time I had South African (two oceans 2011) Shiraz, I think it may have tasted thinner/waterier than what I'd expect from the usual Australian Shirazes, so there might be that.
is this the ultimate patrician /ck/ redpill?
>>8451763

Hey /ck/ I've seen a lot of threads about regional dishes so I thought I'd post one of mine. I'm from Bismarck, South Dakota and we have this dish we call 'Cozy Powells'.
