are there any online businesses that I can start with little to no capital?

I have an online business that could be successful, I just need the capital for advertising.

I have a day job in retail but that generates only around $1k/month and it would take a year or so to scale my business if I only rely on that. If I had more capital I could move along quicker

Hear me out. K? So, i brought for it 50eur and sold it for a 100eur. Not the best possibility, but i shouldn't be greedy. Now i'm out. Dumped.

BUT i learnt just this dawn, that i could buy a contract at https://www.genesis-mining.com/ and they would mine ETH for me, for a year.

I get 3Mhash/sec for 50eur and they promise to change it around to any altcoin if within the year ETH mining won't be possible anymore.

Notable info: as i heard China is not yet trading this ether.

So what do you think? Should i invest my surplus into this contract? Also, i have no clue what 3Mhash/s gets me in ETH.

No.
1) All cryptocoin industries are full of scams. As a rule cash should always flow to you if you don't want to be ripped off.
2) If they can mine at profit they would double down on that and sell their coins not seek outsiders. They either can't make 50eur of coins or they think the price won't be as high later.

tl:dr its either an outright scam or they just think its too risky to do themselves.

That's a funny way of spelling ethereum.
>>
Ethereum is more than just a currency. It's a replacement for the entire financial services industry.
>>
>>1072168
Anyone surprised? Bitcoin was a Trojan horse for a FED controlled digital currency.

>>1072303
It won't be though. Think of ETH and Bitcoin as a way of them testing the ecosystem with real world data. I don't think that the FED is ready to announce that they have already developed their own blockchain. They need to slowly integrate it in and gauge the acceptance along the way. Bitcoin, ETH, and Ripple are just scapegoats that they can point to if anyone begins to suggest it was their goal all along to have a government controlled crypto. Do you really think that banks would hand over control to a decentralized technology?

Is there something I'm missing when thinking this isn't possible?

Apart from the risk of not being able to diversify your portfolio and bearing the risk of your investments heading south each week how is this not a bad idea?

With the right research and knowledge, say taking the to research a range of stocks that have the possibility of increasing 5% over the next week? It seems possible if you take the time to research each company and have the balls to risk it. It doesnt seem that impossible to find a stock that will rise 5% each given week and sure you may take some loses but this could be minimized by staying alert and dropping out of the investment before things get too bad right?

Is a law degree worth it:

Easy way to answer that question.

>Did you do high school or college debate?
>Were you good at it?
>Did you use shit tier style methods like speed reading which basically exist to exploit the time limit and dropped argument rules of structured debate but would never persuade a jury in real life?

You will have a pretty fucking good idea if you could thrive in Law if you can answer the above in a satisfactory capacity.

>Universities

If you plan to practice within your own state only then you're fine with a degree from a smaller college. If you plan to go elsewhere and/or shoot for a top firm you need a degree from a top law school.

Explain to me, managers of /biz/, what do you manage and how?

I see my manager too often in his office, pushing paper, schedules, and emails around. Why should we value you as "Manager" as opposed to just another member with some lead privileges?

Serious question here, no malice involved.

Bump. Quit my part time job because I wasn't up to deal with my manager for another half-year.

From what I know about my manager (and other managers I've talked to), they usually started out doing the work they were managing, which is why they are in that position in the first place.

They mostly deal with keeping customers happy, and also vouching for their employees and service. It's not as physically taxing, but it's the dealing with people that gets you.

Bump. Interested.

I did some CFD's for a bit.

Fees and spread made it kinda shit unless you got a good run. I used massive leverage but cause im poor fag.

I once traded without a stop loss and it just pulled me out of my position when all my cash to cover margin was gone.

Not dangerous if you're careful, but as they say, leverage in finance is like speed to a car, it gets you where you're going quicker, but if you crash its so much more worse.

Its just another financial tool but is removed from the reality of the market as you are betting with the broker who alters prices.

Id just ETF or value invest.

tldr, not dangerous if you're careful. use stop loss.

I think they're only traded in the UK, mainly because the Stamp Duty Tax renders trading actual equities pointless. They may even be illegal in the US.

Is it true the places that run them aren't regulated the way brokerages are, meaning you can get raped by a bunch of crooks? I think I read that on one of the threads here.

So I've started working on a personal safety app. There are a lot of bad ones out there but mine has one feature that the others don't have. Recently I found out there is one company doing exactly what I have planned on doing and on top of that they came out of Tech Stars Chicago which is a pretty decent accelerator program that coincidentally has one of my old bosses on their advisory board.

How do I judge this situation? Is their moderate success proof that I should continue development of my app or does it mean I have no chance? They've secured deals with a handful of colleges to offer the app for free to their students. That level of progress makes me think I'm screwed, but I'm curious what other people think.

wat? I don't know, that sounds like it could be pretty annoying to the average consumer. I have to continuously enter my phone and disable it every so often or else my phone calls for help?

Am I missing something here?
