Hello, young buck here, two questions if you could spare the time guys:
1) How viable is it to target a 0.1% interest rate per day as a day trader? I mean in terms of whether that return is realistic, not whether it's enough to live off of. By viable I also mean, expecting to gain that much on average per day.
1) I'm looking for a good technical analysis book, preferably one which has a nice amount of mathematical intensity, any other books on day trading would be good too.
I'm quite well trained in mathematics/stats so I should be able to hold my own if the book presupposes anything up to undergrad level math/stats as a background (just so you know if you're recommending something).
Also, note that I'm not going to start trading for a while, so I don't have any problems with books that their take their time building up the concepts technical analysts use.
Pic unrelated.
>day trading
>TA

It's viable to make a whole lot more than .1% a day. But to not lose money at day trading takes years of study and tens of thousands lost in the learning process.
Technical analysis is worse than useless if you don't have an understanding of the market, as well as experience applying your understanding of the market. You can't trade solely on TA because you're not HFT. Get to work researching how the global financial system works. Practice trade and develop your own methodology.
Here's a pretty good vid to get started with:

Can /biz/ recommend me a business related movie? Like The big short, zeitgeist or wolf of wall street?
Schindler's List

I liked Margin Call, the acting was great with a great staff.

>zeitgeist
>business based
Dude, i liked zeitgeist so much i paid $5 for a DVD of it to be shipped to me in the mail, but the amount that it taught me about business could be written on the back of the postage stamp stuck to the envelope it came in.
ETHEREUMKEKS ON SUICIDE WATCH
BTFO.
When will we see a steep rise in suicides of people described as "lonely, overweight men with an unusual amount of scruffy hair on their necks"?
I hope no one on /biz/ actually bought any significant amount of this garbage... r-right? You didn't, did you anon?
I bought 2725 ETH at about $2.35 each.
How fucked/brilliant am I?

Maybe $50(the total saved from 3 months of not buying tendies)

Does anyone have experience running a cult/church?
I filed for a 501(c)(3) federal non-profit and am going to be starting a E-church with headquarters in Manhattan (upper westside)
main source of income will be
-boomers dying and leaving their property and bankaccounts to us
-church goers tithing to the organization
I also want to get 9 women pregnant and starting a cult seems like a good way to do that. If only one boomer dies a year i'll still be making 50k a year.
thoughts? advice? what would be a good cult to start?
If you want to run a cult, you should at least have a good story. It should involve some final judgment that only you can save your followers from. Also, have a holy book.
I recommend that your book has at least three stories in it: a creation story, a hero's journey and a story of the end of the world. You may add some more as you see fit. Use Campbell's monomyth to structure your stories

anyone else have some input?
Has anyone ever used acorns here?
Summary: They advertise it as a 'invest your spare change' trading app. You build a portfolio of whatever you want invest in and are charged 5 dollars per month to use the app with accounts lower than 5,000 dollars.
Some red flags went up for me when I heard about this. Can you really make 25 dollars an investment? Considering the only stocks that go for such a low price are shit usually. They also want a lot of information from you as a consumer -- social security number, checking account access. It all feels really sketchy to me.
> 'invest your spare change'
> 5 dollars per month
haha
no, they are probably not going to sell your SSN, they're just going to take your money in 5$ pieces.

Do you think that a user could make any profit off of it?
>>1071001
you can make a profit, in the same way that a guy playing in the casino can make a profit
for real though, no, don't be stupid. The commission is way too high.
Does a college education matter anymore?
>>1068389
Yes it opens many doors for you.
Think about it. If everyone has a college education, think how poorly you will stand out looking for a job without one.
If "everyone le has one" then that's all the more reason to get one - that means it's become a necessity for non-shit jobs.
>>1068389
No, it doesn’t. If you want your kids to succeed make sure they don't go to college. Come to think of it, it would be in their best interests to drop out of high school. You don't need schools, you've got the internet.
>>1068391
But those 4 years of your life could be spent doing something better.
I've been dropshipping- and making lots of money.
Now, I'm making so much money there is now reason to seek a job- but I'm sure, if I applied and included my tax returns and said 'I built a company that makes $150k a year in profit from NOTHING' here is the proof-
That's a lot more impressive than a degree, no?
Plus, all the money I made, I keep, instead of paying money like a cuck to go to school, I make money
GPRO, it's fucking cheap. There are a lotta pros and some cons I know, but c'mon how many of you are thinking about buying in.

Little IP, many competitors (both potential and actual), weakening sales and profit margins; people think it's going to earn little in the future and they're bailing.
>>1074011
if the quadcopter product is good and goes for a reasonable price it can have substantial impact on revenue, but it probably won't become a 'common household item', they need work more on marketing and diversifying products, i know that a police bodycam doesn't quite fit with the Gopro image but they should expand in small-convenient-reliable camera sector.

Don't forget no long-term debt. They are 100% equity funded.
It could go much lower though in the short-term. If it drops low enough it might get acquired.

>>1073973
Put an ad on Craigslist. Say you'll pay $0.05 per battery or whatever.
Or search ebay for expired batteries.
http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_pgn=1&isRefine=false&_nkw=expired%20batteries
The fuck do you need dead batteries for anyway?
>>1073986
let's not help OP build his bomb, ok?
Find battery recycling bins. There are stores and public institutions that have them on their premises. You don't even have to pay.

even if trying equaled a 1% chance, you clearly do not want to succeed badly enough to try for that 1%.

Get a 3.6 gpa in 1 year of communityy college, 24 credits, drop job be4.
Transfer to mid tier state uni, whichever has the best internships
Job future pay + internships are what you use to decide your degree after 24 gen eds.
Thanks for the input

Also spam the fuck out of counsellors, talk to many of them from both unis and community colleges
Also be ready to get good study habits. If you want a 3.6+ in one year you need to tryhard
Hi /biz/,
I'm 29 and I worked for 12 years doing shitty jobs(short term for most of them)
I don't really have a skill that could get me a job
I had to work early so I didn't finished school
And the social services here are shit and I can't really get a valuable skill doing their formations(Tried some of them)
Question is: Is there any way to build some marketable knowledge or skills that I can learn with internet (and get actual experience on that skill to get hired) ?
I already worked in web comp (front and back) but 2 years were enough for me, good money but I don't like coding at all, and I'm only good with basic webdesign(shitty drawer)
I like the logic on coding and the fact that I was actually using my brain to get sht done making some working days shorter, but I still don't know what to study now, so I need some help
Thanks for the answers
What is "web comp" ?
