is this a good idea?
>>1072339
im you at 19. What would you have done differently? Also bump.
>>1072339
No. Web anything is shit. If you have a genuine interest in that stuff find a decent job inside a company then work your way out.
Its perrenially undervalued, there are low barriers to entry so supply is high, it looks easy, it takes artistic talent or extensive AB testing and in general a company can farm it out to a contractor for sub-minimum wage.
>>1072355
>No. Web anything is shit.
this.
OP you're better of learn C++ or Python.
Every other programming language is oversaturated driving wages down
>tfw got a job at IRS
How should I abuse my new position?
Fuck you. I owe these kikes $1200. Sure, I work for a state government and I don't get any federal tax withheld but still RRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
>>1072147
Wait a few years then start telling new employees that the IRS has a tax assault team - and you know the guy in charge. Empire build until you can set up such a team and then start taking down FBI agents who are late with their returns.
tl:dr Take over the federal government
>>1072279
>fucking with the FBI
nigguh you gon' end up in a barrel
Why don't they trade 24/7/365?
>>1072313
they?
>>1072316
Markets
>>1072313
Why would they? A company is most likely to be listed on its local exchange. Things that affect its value are most likely to happen during the working hours. Traders go home at night, same as everyone else. Why should an exchange be open when the stock prices aren't going to change much if at all?
Why is Keynesianism still a thing? I am just so mystified as to why people defend it.
Because
>dude the cycle lmao
>>1069760
>dat strawman
>>1069641
Because it works until it doesn't.
And it's been working for a long time now.
When the music stops, it will be too late. The Keynesians will be proven wrong- but who cares? there is fire falling from the sky and armed gangs roaming the streets.
im interested what people are on /biz/

Hi /biz/
So i have four of my grandpa's old savings bonds (pic related). Wtf should I do with them?
>>1072265
Sell them or keep them. What did you think you could do with them?
>>1072270
Do I sell them back to the bank? Or will somebody else buy them? How much is it worth if it says 'fifty dollars' and was issued in 1995? Also, I live in Germany now, so where can I sell American Bonds?
>>1072273
You can sell american bonds anywhere. Yes your bank will have an arm that deals with these things but you can shop around easily.
How much its worth depends upon when it matures but you can expect more than $50 us before any brokerage fees
How do I easily check the market value of various items, especially collectibles (like stamps and rare coins)?
>inb4 Google
I can't find a single, proper price with Google. There are lots of prices, and a huge price range. Isn't there some platform to find market prices easily?
bump
>>1072061
ebay?
Depends on how rare. If their on ebay you can see what people are selling them for anyways.

this is now a cute/friendly thread
>just randomly wander into /biz/ while traveling far from my home russian imageboard
>everyone is discussing how they wageslave better and speculative stocks
What the dick? Where's actual business owners? Success stories? Tax evasion tips? People in 2ch biz are doing networking and hr in a sticky, discussing online betting services, web design studios, electronics repair shops, construction materials production and how to get subsidized by the state and how to (not) pay taxes. Mushroom agriculture, vape bars, silk prints, gyms, convenience stores, and all kinds of shit. Some of them have money, many have stories about previous or current attempts at opening a business.
Why /biz/ appears substandard in comparison? Is it the audience? Or doing business in USA is so much tougher that hardly any people manage?
>entirely different website
>entirely different history
>entirely different culture
>entirely different language
Yeah I don't know man why the hell aren't 2ch biz and 4chan biz the same?

Do you tell your friends how much you make? During conversations with friends, they mentioned their salary and I've always gotten away by giving them a ballpark figure. Most of us are in the same industry so they think they have an idea of my pay, but they always come under by at least 20k.
Walk up to the club like whaddup I gotta big cock.
>>1070328
I give them a rough estimate and say my rank. If it's too high I'll subtract my bonus from my basic just to make them feel a bit better. Usually don't have to though
>>1070328
Where I live, it's not taboo to talk about one's earning. In fact, it's normal.
I don't usually mention how much I make because it sounds like bragging, but other people often do it for me.
>hint: it's roughly 12x the national average
What do you do OP?
>1 million graduates a year
>100,000 job openings a year
>Only 1000 job openings in my particular area of interest
>Success ratio: 0.1%
Should I just play the lottery? Atleast I'll have a better chance of winning right?
Are you an actor?
>>1072131
Maybe an architect? But again, 100k job openings for that particular fields sounds highly exaggerated.
This is why school can be overrated. You're better off starting at the bottom of a company at 18. I would bet you'd make a similar wage by 24 without having 80,000 in debt. Choosing a degree that's worth it is just as important as the degree itself.
Sup /biz/ are there any legitimate work from home jobs? Specifically the UK? I have a small "business" where I buy parts from alibaba, put them together then resell them but it's not taken off yet but it's nice for a little bit of money. All of the work from home jobs I have found are either ridiculously low paid (ie. not even close local minimum wage) or transcription jobs where they say it takes 2 hours to transcribe an hour of audio but then all the work I'm sent is groups of 3 or more people which makes it take upwards of 3 hours. Any help or stories regarding working from home would be greatly appreciated.
Just set up any business and run it from home. Not work from home but set up a business from home.
Ie, advertise get customers, sell shit to them or serve them.
Its really piss easy, worry about admin and taxes afyer you make £100,000
Lionsbridge and those other search evaluating jobs?
I wonder how the Wikledorks haven't jumped from a 10 story building by now. First they get fucked over on Facebook and now assraped by Bitcoin. A year ago they said that Bitcoin would have a trillion dollar market cap. Yikes.

I agree. People that don't see the potential of crypto just make me shake my head family.
Although i think bitcoin as a brand is a dead duck. Crypto will live on through Ethereum. Ethereum is cryptos secret weapon. You can actually do amazing things with it that were not possible for humans to achieve previously.

It competes against chauffeur and limo services with its UberX, so dont think they're not just competing against US taxi cabs.

>recently graduated with a petroleum engineering degree
Am I mcfucked? If the price of oil goes back up I'll have no relevant experience on my resume and companies will just hire a more recent graduate with everything still fresh in their mind, I had an internship but in my final year I couldn't even find one. Is it true degrees have an "expiry date"?
>>1071134
Try and get work in infrastructure advisory or construction.
heh... hahaha... lmfao... sorry OP
Just wait it out in graduate school and hope the market has bumped up before you leave
>>1071134
Yeah they do have an expired date and yours was done 10 years ago fucking LOL
>Choosing petroleum industry in the century of decarbonisation
Should've done Liberal Arts mate. You can literally do anything with that degree.
