I want to get into collecting. What's the most profitable item to collect? Various coins? Bills? Postal marks?
What should one absolutely know before getting into collecting?
5 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1068853

I collect coins.

If you're collecting, it should be because you have tons of disposable income, and you like the stuff you collect, not because you want to make money off it

Although, for the record, mark cuban says he made all the money he used to start broadcast.com buying and selling rare stamps

> legos
> "special edition"
> "collector's edition"
> anything with limited production

Coins & stamps are your Beanie Babies; everyone is doing it.

That isn't to say it's not profitable, but only if you truly know what you're doing and what you're looking for.

Does anon have any ideas about how to hypothetically invest untaxed income (paper money/bitcoins) so that the IRS can't find out about it?
Preferably something beyond hoarding gold and silver in your hypothetical basement or diverting it through a legit business and paying taxes on it that way.
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1068679

No ideas. The only ways are

1. Hoard gold, hope the IRS doesn't find out.

2. Launder the money

3. Spend all the money on illegal things for cash
>>
Claim you have a mental disorder and start a charity for yourself. Make all donations anonymous and you have yourself your own untaxable washing machine.
>>
How much is this hypothetical amount?

You know. There is probably some argument to be made for turning on every indicator and buying or selling based purely on if the majority of the lines end above or below the current price.
Wonder how well that would go. Half tempted to try it.

You can only fake stuff for McJobs where the company is either so cheap they don't bother to hire a company or have a department to do background checks on their employees with high turnover, shit pay, and no benefits.

For any real job you will get called out on your bullshit, made to provide proof like paystubs, and generally hounded until either you can provide the proof or get potentially fired.

You are better off getting a job from some easy online place to fill in your resume (something like transcription sites, or writing websites). You don't even have to do much or stay invested. Just get a paystub so you can prove you worked there.

I didn't dump because I got caught up in the project and I really like what they're doing.

Plus the pump and dump correction wasn't that big, it's still rising hard, just not fast enough for /biz/'s pump and dump scheme.
>>
>>1068037
>it's still rising hard
Holy shit dude. Have you even checked the price today? You were supposed to have dumped already. It's tanking HARD right now.

Hey /biz/, what's the best way to economically develop a third world nation?

Let's say you are now president of a country such as Nigeria, Colombia or Indonesia.

What's the best strategy to develop infrastructure, increase industrial production, modernize agriculture, and raise the people's purchasing power?

Hard mode: using national capital only
82 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
First, I would try to grow the local economy and try to rely less and less on foreign aid. I would start with agriculture so I would try go grow all the foods a country would need on our own. I would then strengthen other necessary parts of the economy, like housing, water, etc. After that, I would work on getting natural resources from my country to export to other countries to build a global presence. Education would also be a top priority. Can't have retards running around. And then eventually I would work on leisure, after all the important stuff is taken care of. All of this while being a capitalistic nation of course.

Making a lot of money by doing a lot of hard work, achieving a high net worth, and then tucking that high net worth in safe low yield invesements.

Everyone trying to trade $20,000 will NEVER make it.

Shouldn't even think about trading until you have a 6 digit net worth
>>
The only true passive income is tax sheltered mutual/index funds.

Real estate is essentially a second job

Day trading is a job

Why should I believe anything I read on this board? How do I know that behind every post with advice or information there isn't someone who has assumed a particular position on the market and stands to gain from the reader adopting the same position (or an opposite position) at the reader's own expense?

There's lots of situations where it's potentially profitable to spread disinformation. I can't think of that many times in business where one is incentivized to tell the truth or give other actors sound advice.

Explain why you help your fellow anons

I try to help with actual business stuff. Get rich quick stock market garbage should be ignored by everyone all the time. If you don't have the balls to be more than an employee, you really shouldn't be fucking with anything but index funds anyways, because you don't have a lot to lose.

Just my two cents.

>The Bank of Japan's entry into NIRP (negative interest rate policy) overnight sent the Nikkei soaring and the yen plunging - that's manna to those Japan ETFs which hedge against the yen's decline.

What long-term effects will this have on the Japanese and global economy/stock market?
2 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1069345
negative interest rates encourage banks to not park money and instead lend it to people. They want to encourage inflation which they need to spend money, which can happen by people getting loans, which contributes to an inflation cycle.

There is a negative 0.75% rate in place in Switzerland already so it isn't anything new and the Japan negative interest rate is only negative .01%

Hello /biz/

I have seen a thread like that some time ago, but was too stupid to look at it.

What books do you reccomend to buy and read to start being rich?

I have already read Kiyosaki "Rich dad, poor dad" and I am amazed, want more.

One book that helped me alot is "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess. It really helped out with my insider trading skillz.

But in all seriousness the only way to become wealthy is with hard work in a certain field of your choice. Books are completely useless and only serve to waste your time.
>>
>>1068908
try the self help area of your local bookstore, its where winners congregate!
>>
>>1068913
Actually Kiyosaki's book gave me some strenght and positive thinking, a desire to change, so do not think it was a waste of time.
