i have a simple question
how old are you guys and when did you start trading?

16 or something. Yep, it was Bitcoin.

26.
20.
>>
20 and just starting

Hey, what should I wear to a job interview? I don't have any real "suits" to wear, just a bunch of normal sweaters and jeans.

On a completely unrelated note, do you think you could get back to me in the next 20-30 minutes or so? Thanks.

depends on the company. you should research them and find out what they're like, go to their website or scope out the location. going underdressed OR overdressed will make you look bad.

>I don't have any real suits
so wear a dress shirt and some nice pants at least. if you can't be bothered to dress yourself for an interview then you don't deserve the job.
>>
Similar question. I have a breakfast interview at 7am this Friday for a construction engineering internship. Normally I'd wear khaki pants with a nice shirt, but could I get away with some nice jeans since this is in a restaurant setting?
>>
>>1086707
No. Unless they are taking you to McDonalds, an interview over food is still an interview.

What knowledge do I have to acquire to outsmart and scam the Jews themselves?
11 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
You could start with the knowledge that /pol/ and /biz/ are different boards
>>
>>1086643
I know they are. I just need to get opinions of both communities. Then I can find my own truth.

/biz/fags should be very knowledgeable on this subject.
>>
>>1086643
>hurr durr someone talks about le jooz
>go to pol ye fag
You're either very butthurt, or just plain stupid for not seeing how Jews are a topic which is deeply economic in many ways.

So I am a foreign uni student in UK.

I tried opening an account with an online broker to put a few hundred euros in stocks for fun.

But it requires a Tax residency number. I had no idea you had to pay taxes for just a couple of stocks. Also have no idea how to find out my 'Tax residency country (UK or home country?)' and' tax ID number'.
Are there any brokers that dont require this or do I have to find out my tax ID number and how this tax thing works? How?
3 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1086593
Well you have to pay capital gains tax on your share dealing so I doubt you'll find anywhere you can get away from it, although if you're only trading a few hundred euros I dont know whether it would be worth it when you take fees etc into account anyway. No idea what a tax ID number is

>few hindered euros

Listen up, if you will, please.

I've always assumed you can get no further than your predecessors.
My father worked tirelessly for years, only to have most of it stripped from him at the 2008 financial collapse.
My stepfather was born into money, and has little-to-no say in the matters of finance.

A couple of years ago, I met a someone with significant pull in the community. However, at the time I was focused on furthering my education. He and I shared a rapport, but I never asked him his business.
As alluded, I have not contacted the said individual in years. I know one of his old stomping grounds. Would it be forthcoming to approach him in public and ask for advice or a mentorship?

You must be the weird one on partys
>>
>>1086586
At least I don't go onto parties. Frankly, your idea of weird means little. I'm concerned with what little thought you have going on in your head.
>>
>>1086582
I don't know this individual as well as you of course, but I think most people are flattered by requests for mentoring, unless he has so much pull he gets a lot of them.

What is "Volume" and how come high volume drops the price?

This shit seems backwards to me.
3 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Volume of trade? It means how many the amount of securities bought/sold in that period. High volume is found most commonly in bear markets, and to a lesser extent bull markets.
>>
>>1086575
Volume =/= Price change

Consider the following scenarios

>Company makes good announcement
>high volume cuz people are trying to trade news
>price goes up

>company makes good announcement
>all previous shareholders think the market has underreacted and refuses to sell at current price
>no volume, but a few people sell at a 30% gain cuz

>company makes bad announcement
>previous shareholders think market overeacted/are being stubborn and not cutting loses
>no volume, but, massive price drop

>company makes bad announcement
>shit keeps freefalling
>shareholders cut their losses making It free fall more

>Did Ethereum paid bunch of fags to run around and post about them? or is it just a meme

It's a lot less people than it seems.

More are either ironically posting about it(like I have) as a joke and the rest who believe it are desperately posting from multiple IPs to give the impression that ethereum is not a meme.

Clearly visible by the "Ok i just bought $2000 of ethereum, when will it go up and to how much? I'm excited!"

Does anyone on /biz/ have any experience returning to College/University as a mature age student? By mature i mean over 30.
I'm a HVAC electrician who has spent the last 10 years programming, installing and commissioning building management systems. I spent a few years before that working as a network administrator but never pursued a formal qualification. My career has reached a point of stagnation where there's little room for wage growth apart from shopping around for a few extra dollars, the work isn't challenging and the only real move would be into project or service management.
Instead I've been flirting with the idea of furthering my studies. I feel I'm underachieving at this point of my life and have been flirting with the idea of studying electrical engineering instead. I probably wouldn't have to borrow any money and know enough people to drum up sub-contract work to keep going.

Have any other mature aged professionals here made the same leap? Left their comfy careers to study and pursue a new one? Any advice and was it worth it? Did your skills compliment what you were studying or did you have to start completely fresh?

An HVAC Electrician? Wth is that? Im a gas fitter. Managed a large energy/hvac company thay made 50-60 Mil per year. I was paid pretty well but decided to leave it all to start my own hvac company. Have no regrets. Quadrupuled my income.

Someone said if Trump had just invested his millions of inheritance money in the S&P 500 in the 80s he would be just as rich as he is now.

I'm not good at this. Pic related is my calculation that shows he would have only 1.5 billion roughly and that gives him 0 cents to even live on for those 40 some odd years. Please someone show me if I missed something thank you.

I've been thinking about this venture. I live in Hollywood, so I have pretty easy access to celebrities.

My issue/question is how would I go about selling my pictures to the highest bidder? How would I go about finding buyers?

>>1086438
just go find some magazines and sell that to them.. but there are huge amounts of fucking paparazzi.. do night crawling instead.. you need a fast vehicle for that
>>
>>1086438
Some of the B list celebrities who are super popular will "advise" certain paps of their activities and locales for those activities......for a kick back on payments from the major gossip media producers. If OC "Kardashian" pics can sell for $25,000, they know it. So they say, "Hey Papparazi man, we know you're getting 25K for pics of us. If you'll let us have some of that on the reg we'll tell you where we'll be before the other paps find out..."

Or so I've been told.
>>
>>1086472
Yeah I've heard about that.

I was also thinking about selling pictures directly to local paps around me at the locations where we're shooting. Like right there, on the spot, cash on hand. I understand I'd be selling these pictures at an extreme markdown.. But hey.. CASH.

I don't know anything. I'm just looking for some ideas.

So, I'm looking at investing in CDs. Im new to trying to make money off of my money, and not comfortable with stocks or riskier investments yet.
So I was hoping some of the pros could answer some basic questions on what steps I need to take to get started.
But yes, How does one get started? After researching for banks that offer them, and finding ones I like, just apply for one there, then check back later? Is that how all this works? Or is it not so simple?

Picture unrelated. May mailbox corgi bring you luck to your investments.

What goes into choosing who you make a bank account with /biz/?

Currently, I have a bank account with bank of america, and I was wondering how you guys choose yours. In my case, I chose it when I was young as that's what my parents used, but now I feel I should explore my options.

Thoughts?

ATM locations. That's about it. If you have enough BoA ATMs don't bother switching pham.
In terms of interest, it doesn't matter what bank you have right now. Interest rates are low with every bank.
>>
I just bank at local credit unions because it makes me feel like a community hero and it's not like I'm doing such sophisticated banking that I require a major branch.

Plus, you get dope ass interest rates.
>>
>>1086390

This pretty much. Any bank will do for checking accounts. Its also probably easier to get a credit card for a bank you already have a account in as well.

Joining a credit union is nice though, so it doesn't hurt to apply to join one.
