I am single handedly responsible for making ethereum a "thing" on 4chan.

It sounds like your overhead is too high. What percentage of your monthly take home is going to rent/utility ect?
Why do some startup become successful and well-known and others don't? Have you ever heared of Keek? Or happn? Or Mingle? All of these apps implement a new and perspective idea, but don't get popular.
Why did twitter become viral? It's a fucking text blog limited to 140 characters. Nothing new.
Instagram? Tumblr with filters.
Even Facebook. It's not the first social network as well.
So, what's the secret? How do I make a startup successful?
https://www.ted.com/talks/bill_gross_the_single_biggest_reason_why_startups_succeed?language=en
>>1082459
I've heard of happn and mingle, but that's it.
Twitter is an open text to the world. IG because you don't need to have an iPhone and some app to put yourself in b&w. Facebook because it was marketed much harder than myspace ever was.
Oversimplify all the popular things and look at the lowest common denominator in US or UK, cater to the useless desire they have but can't get, ???, success. the formula works.

A Startup is a business without a well developed business model. It fundamentally has to developed a business model with its product. Failure to develop a business model in a tech based startup is the primary reason for its failure.
Does anyone here play video games? Even just a little? If you have, you would notice the potential to make bigbuxBOII from stupid autistic 12 year olds and their moms credit cards. It makes me wonder why people don't take advantage of those gullible little retards and their irresponsible mothers.
I was thinking. Just a thought. Just looking at the situation. Given how susceptible the autistic gaming population is to hype, and the number of stupid purchases made, aren't they the ideal target for a pump and dump scheme? Misinformation can go a long way with these retards. I recall that not too long ago, in CSGO, there was a skin for a weapon. It wasn't a super high end skin, but as soon as some information got spread around, that it would soon be made "contraband" quality(meaning that it would no longer drop, and was only obtainable through trade), the price skyrocketed. I'm talking hundreds of dollars. Pretty soon though, people realized that it wouldn't be contraband, and the price fell. The reason people theorized it would be contrabanned, was because it used stolen artwork, which turned out to be a false claim, and the price subsequently fell. It just goes to show, that in the financially illiterate and immature community that is the gaming community, just a little suggestion can make massive waves. And someone could potentially profit from that.
That's all I was thinking. If you guys don't play video games and don't know how the steam market and trading works, this probably doesn't make any sense to you. In that case sorry.

Yes OP, you are a fag.
>>1082504
bro, wtf are you saying?
>>suggesting a new idea that's been in the mainstream news for several years now
That sentence is entirely contradictory. You dumbass: I never said that a pump and dump scheme is a new concept. You would think I know that if I literally am calling it by its name. I was saying that it has never been applied to the mentioned market. YOU are the fag.
Possibly but how will you orchestrate it?

Dunno, turtles are pretty cheap here and nobody wants them.
It's a trading strategy like any other.
The only way to know if it'll work for you is to sit down and crunch the numbers.

I have $10,000 to invest. I will let 4chan invest $5000 of it. I will let Reddit invest the other $5000. Futures, stocks, currencies, whatever.
The window is 30 days.
Whichever site grows the $5k the most in 30 days settles the question as to which site is smarter.
Obviously suicidal trades will be ignored, but smart, risky trades will be performed and are encouraged.
I will donate 10% of all earnings to a charity of the winner's choice.
I am completely serious and will provide multiple screenshots of account balances, buys, trades, sells, etc.

Here are the real degree tiers. Pro-tip: anything that isn't actively stigmatized will still get you a non-specialized job that calls for a degree, making all bachelor's degrees effectively low-tier at worst on this scale save the ones with bad reputations.
The rest is based on a combination of salaries, employability, and social prestige.

International relations is one of 9 degrees most likely to put you at a six figure income. It also requires you to be multi-lingual and coursework typically nets you international contacts.
Mathematics has niche options available to it, plus it has intellectual credibility. It's the automatic in that any degree has plus extra credibility with some specialized routes.
Chemistry major here.

How do you buy Ethereum?

Quick way: Buy bitcoin first. Then use shapeshift.io to swap for ETH
Slow way: Buy bitcoin first. Then sign up for poloniex and trade for ETH

No. The market in shitty code is already dominated by indians that will build a Warcraft like MMO for 100 bucks.
The only way to make real money coding is by being good and having a lot of experience. You need both brains and dedication.

What is /biz/'s opinion on tipping?
It is a stupid tradition upheld by greedy managers/owners who don't want to pay their servers more?
Is it reasonable? Does /biz/ generally tip or have any stories?

Servers in my area make 60k a year.... Good luck having a restraunt pay you that. KEK

What area you in anon? With cost of living that might just be the fair wage. If a garbage man makes 50k+ then 60k for waiting tables seems reasonable

Average pay in my area is 45K. When you have servers driving brand new cars it's pretty nice. FLorida. It's a pretty nice restraunt. By the water and all.

Wanxiang: the company currently is engaging in a number of activities relating to pushing blockchain tech forward in China out of its base in Shanghai, particularly including the research/education non-profit Blockchain Labs and the VC fund Fenbushi. Fenbushi is in the process of making some substantial investments into Ethereum startups which will be announced soon; the non-profit side will have some interesting stuff announced soon as well. I'm involved in both of those groups (and am spending a lot of time developing out the ethereum ecosystem in China generally).
Fenbushi was given 50mm dollars to invest and Vitalik is a GP. I bet they're going to dump a few million across the whole ecosystem. They already bought 500k worth of ETH.

Daily reminder that this magic money is a pump and dump and will be the next Darkcoin/Doge/Ripple/Litecoin.
The exact same arguments used to support this were used for those.

Yeah, it will break 0.01, and soon after it will shoot past it.
It's just struggling at the moment because a lot of people love selling at nice rounded number 'milestones'.
As you can see though, it's not going down.
