I'm a freshman at Williams with a double major in econ and math. My opinion is kind of limited since I am in the same boat as you and I can only really supply anecdotal thoughts about it.
However, I know that a decent portion of my classmates (~40-50%) are in the process of landing summer internships or have already gotten one. I personally am deciding between an unpaid internship at John Hancock or a paid 'research' position at Harvard. Personally I feel as though so long as you are working a stable job for the duration of the summer it will not really hurt your chances for next year, but if you have the opportunity to seek out a legitimate resume building internship I do not see why you wouldn't.

But with the NX looming in the horizon could this be a good opportunity to buy Nintendo stock? Let's see, rumor has it that they're planning a new Smash and a new Zelda, their 2 biggest system pushers, as launch titles for the NX, and so even if the NX turns out to be a flop in the long run, I believe you can expect a sharp spike in their stocks upon launch.
