Hey /biz/, I'm thinking of starting a YouTube channel. I'm not going to link it here because I'm not some spamming faggot, though.
My question is, what's a good current niche to latch onto and get a decent viewership right off the bat? Pokemone Go is popular but way too saturated.
>>1382324
neo-nazism and white supremacy is very on trend right now. that evalion bitch got like 100s of 1000s of views per video before her channel got holocausted and she was banned.
>>1382331
True, but I want to keep my reputation. Honestly I don't care about either side as long as I make money but if anyone recognized my name, my face, voice, or anything and tracked me to that channel I would be fuuucked.
Plus there's no ad revenue in having your channel and adsense account blocked, unless you can manage to use the controversy to generate traffic to your website which runs ads that aren't adsense ads.
What the fuck. The Bitcoin halving had zero effect on price. Zilch. None. Shouldn't it logically be twice the price right now?
>>1382301
No effect is good, means it's not overvalued :^)
But it will go up in value.
>>1382301
It will make a slow steady climb as less bitcoins are mined. The effect happens over time, not all at once.
>>1382301
It means its undervalued right now.
Doesn't mean it'll jump in price right away.
>not owning your own small business where you buy precious metals well below spot
Just bought 205 ounces of silver for well below spot.

Been thinking of starting off CL posts. What % should I offer?
Where'd you find 13lbs of silver at below spot?
>>1381069
"Hey my dad just died and left me all of this silver I was curious if I could trade it for a AR15"
>sure goy have his top of the line Colt 6920, I'll even let you make a even trade!
That's how the deal went down.

Thanks for sharing this. I may hit you up on Twitter, if that's cool.
I know the "craft beer" craze is slowly dying down, but I have some ideas I'd like to pitch to a local brewery.
Does anyone have any experience with pitching ideas? Are there any pitfalls I should watch out for?

Huh. Scott Adams is multi-faceted. I learned something new today.
>ideas to pitch to a local brewery
Why not start an LLC and pitch to investors instead?
>Apply for a good job I'm actually qualified for at company.
>Get a response from recruiting team.
>Email back and forth with this person for a week and set up a phone interview.
>Phone interview goes very positively. I have great answers for all the questions they ask. They seem very responsive. They talk to me like I've already got the job and we're just smoothing out the details.
>Say they'll contact me next week to set up an in-person interview.
>They contact me again, but instead of setting up an in-person interview I got this response:
>Hi, sorry for the delay. We are currently reorganizing our sourcing team and re-evaluating all open positions. We will have an update for you in 3 weeks.
So, this means I'm out of the running right? What else could re-evaluating all open positions mean? Although, if they're just not going to hire me, why tell me to wait three weeks?
This fucking sucks. After that phone interview went so well I thought for sure I was going to get this job. I've been unemployed for six months. I need a fucking job now. If I'm still in the running, I could wait another three weeks. But it's still bullshit.
>>1385343
I've had a few businesses do this to me. It means they want to keep you interested in the position, because the position still might be for you, but they need time to consider other candidates and/or hiring quotas.
>>1385516
The best advice I can give you is to let them know that you can wait the three weeks, but you'll need an answer by then because there are other companies more than willing to hire you on the spot.
bit worried here /biz/
I applied for a summer internship around 6 months ago. i uploaded my real transcript and was rejected.
a week ago, i got an email saying i was invited to apply to a different position. this time, i altered my grades significantly on my transcript and resubmitted by application.
what are the chances that they saved my transcripts pdf from last time?
>>1385302
pretty fucking good i'd say. if they invited to to interview that means your grades wouldn't prevent you from getting this other job anyway. really dumb/risky move.
>>1385302
maybe ask 4chan for advice first next time?
>>1385352
they didn't invite me to an interview, they sent me an email saying that they found better candidates.
yea i agree it was risky, i forgot i had applied to this job.
do you think i should email them and ask them to disregard my application? or should i go the extra step and come clean? or should i just ride it out?
Hey /biz/ I'm in the US and I just got offered a job working remotely for a startup based in the UK. They're offering to set my salary in GBP rather than USD and pay me as an independent contractor.
So my question is, should I take that offer or should I ask that I be paid at a specific rate in USD instead? Basically, can the GBP-USD exchange rate go any lower, or is it only going to go up from here?
How much leverage do you have over them?
Could add in an exchange rate floor into your contract. Ex.If pound falls below x point, the payment rate will be xx USD
>>1385222
Hedge against the pound falling with futures. You will not lose any money if the Pound falls, but you will not gain any money if the Pound rises.
You want to sell pound futures (or buy Dollars Futures in Pounds, I think this exists) that way if the Pound falls, the amount you lose in your salary is made up for with your winnings in the futures market. Unfortunately, any gain you make in salary is lost in the futures market.

MON will happen if you're patient enough. Bayer is fucking relentless.
>>1385165
But I can't predict what that means. Will Bayer go down? Up? How will the market react to Bayer paying such a huge sum. I have no experience in regard to takeovers.

Ok /biz/ I have around 37,000 USD in the form of a trust which was set up by my grandfather before he passed away. It was specifically to be used for college and to buy me a car, however I opted to work to pay for my car and currently am paying for college.
Now this trust has slowly been withdrawn from by the other person named on it (my dad) to pay for things he dubs as "stuff I should be paying for." I want to take this 37,000 and do something with it rather than have it sitting in a just above inflation account basically rotting but everytime I make an attempt to take some of it and invest it the other name refuses to let me.
Bit of back story: My dad is a fucking dumbass and cant manage money for shit ( He nearly lost everything when he was in his 30's) and thinks Im going to incinerate it all by dumping it all into brazillian copper mine penny stocks or some shit.
So Im turning to you /biz/
What the fuck should I be doing with this money?
>>1385150
Use it to move out of your dad's place.
>>1385157
I'm already out. Forgot to mention that. Things he means I should be paying for this includes cell bill, health insurance, and auto. I already considered getting off his plans but that would just hurt me because it covers alot.

Working 40h/week this summer as a trainee developer/researcher at a tech startup. I'm a 21 and next year I will be a 3rd year mechatronics student.
Pros and cons of the job:
Cons
> getting out of bed early
> shit pay
> no (paid) breaks
> have to work hard (work in the same room as my boss)
Pros
> this shit is actually fun
> learning usefull and interresting things
> work experience
> boss is nice a fuck
> I'm actually being fucking productive for once in my vacation
Am I becoming a wagecuck /biz/? I was expecting a fucking horrible experience, but I'm actually enjoying the shit out of it atm.

welcome to the world of the workaholic. soon youll lose all your friends because your to preoccupied about work and start posting shit on /biz/ erryday
>>1385071
I guess I'm starting to turn into my dad. Well if I'm getting rich and when it's still fun I won't really mind becoming a workaholic. I really hope I don't become boring though.
I always hated the boring part about "grown up" work when I was a kid, I can remember telling myself "I will never be like that".
>>1385087
soooo, how have you planned to not be like that then - are you learning a trade where you can be self employed, building a viable business which you can pour your life into for 5 years and then sell to [retire|repeat] ?
