So I know there are specific rules on what percent of your rent and utility bills you can deduct as part of the home office deduction, but how exactly is the IRS going to find out exactly what percent of my apartment I use for work? It seems like I can say anything I want and they have no way of finding out whether it's true or not.

Buy at the dip; HOLD through the rise. Too many of my friends sold OGI.TO and MT.VN early for profits of a hundred or so dollars, but both are set to rise in August, nearly doubling what they are now. Anyway, there's your warning. Go do the research yourself into these companies, then put in and hold LONG.

Also, if anyone knows of any other weedman-approved stocks, post them here. This is a green discussion thread.

CGC.TO is a bit too volatile in my opinion for now because it's a major player and all the dude weed types investing in it are much looser with their money than real investors.

This desu.

I'm not Canadian, but if you live in a western country and you aren't invested in a Marijuana related company while they are currently rock bottom due to legislation, then you are playing yourself.

It's only a matter of time before one country legalizes it, creating a domino effect through other civilized countries, and then it's to the moon from there.
>>
Also, now is the time to invest in weed businesses. There is a brand out there right now that could be the future Coors or Pabst.

My money is in AlphaCanna personally

No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using Yahoo/Google finance or even Stocktwits for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

I've finally decided to get into the stocks on the side and just downloaded robinhood. What books should I read or tips you guys can give to a rookie just starting out? And how do you know what investments to make (as in what exactly do you research on what databases)?

Hey /biz/

I recently introduced a financier friend of mine to a company I had some minor dealings with. This relationship has since resulted in a 12.5 million dollar IPO.

I have been offered 250,000 Share options at 0.001/share as a finders fee. Stock will open at roughly 16c a share, but is expected to rise to 90c within the opening week due to several announcements.

Have I been ripped off, or is this equitable?

Am I being ripped off?

Hi biz!
i have been experimenting with affiliate marketing for some time now, but its proven to be more difficult than i thought.
I plan to start promoting my offers on different forums, linking directly to the offer instead of using a landing page. I will create a list of all the forums i can find, that are related to my niche, and then i will start building up trust on these forums before starting to promote my offer.
Does anyone have any tips on affiliate marketing, and what do you think of my plan?

>>
online marketer reporting in.

your plan has been done a billion times over by almost every IMer thats ever been.

first off, you've been -way- too general in your question. "Internet marketing" is a blanket term for PPC (Pay per click), PPI (pay per install), commissioned product/service selling, etc etc.

It's pretty much impossible to tell you what we think of your plan or provide advice until you actually tell us some details of what youre doing.

With that said, some general answers:
the amount of effort you will be putting in trying to build a reputable account within various forums will far outweigh the amount of conversions it has. it will take literally hundreds if not thousands of quality posts to become an established entity within a forum.

As someone whos both tried that advertising method and also belonged to various forums with a high identity, it's just not worth it. being active enough on any decently trafficed forums long and often enough to grow an established identity is a full time job in and of itself

Not only that, but LOTS of forums are slow and have a low userbase, or are even completely dead thanks to social media becoming dominant in the last decade.

Also a lot of forums have rules about posting referral links or any paid product links, and can often times result in deleted threads or even a perma ban for your account, which you would have worked hard on to establish.

for the amount of work youll put in to be actively typing and associating you could be using the exact effort and almost the exact topic of discussion to create rich unique content for a website/sales page/blog/etc that will help you grow your own traffic zone vs leeching a few views per thread and giving all the efforts results (traffic to your thread) to the forum instead of youself.

also many will say/believe that excessive backlinks to forums can hinder your google results for wherever youre sending them.

finally, lots and lots of forums have nofollow enabled
>>
the plan was to use clickbank where you get paid a % of each sale you generate. I know many of these clickbank offers are promoting useless crap, but some of the offers have really enticing landing pages with quality videos. These pages are fine tuned to convert, and i think it would be possible to make a few bucks using this method.
The hard part will be posting on the forums without making it seem spammy.
As you mentioned, it might just create more value in the long run if i start a website and link from there instead.

Okay guys, here is the deal.

I have no real clue about trading and I got involved with the stock market on brexit day. I traded the stuff that seemed obvious to me, using my house bank (and paying its ridiculous fees).

I shorted DAX. I got some ABX shares & bought some gold.
I waited for volkswagen and a few other DAX companies to drop, then jumped in and watched them rebound with a smile.

I have made close to €8.000 in profit trading on what I thought was right in the brexit aftermath.

Then I did nothing before I decided to take a good part of my trading profits to buy 25 nintendo shares on wednesday. They are up by €40 per share now, and I am currently considering to take my €1.000 profit and calling it a day.

That would add up to a total of about €9.000 in profit for 3 weeks of "trading" which took me a maybe 10 hours of my time.

My whole life has been a lie. I have spent so much time being a wage slave that making so much money (it is A LOT for me, a quarter of my yearly income) with so little effort is simply stunning.

My question is this guys: Have I been simply very lucky`? Or is this what trading is all about? Using what you feel to be "obvious" and just going for it? Has that amount of predictability just been a rare thing because of the brexit?

>>1382821
You take the risks, you take the rewards man. The risk is the exact opposite hitting you all at once. One day you are going to short a brexit and for some ****ed up reason that stock is going to soar for some strange reason. Then you will just shrug it off, say "it happens" and move onto the next thing. Then that next thing will also go screwball, and you'll be down $9000 in three weeks. But if you are smart, it will happen very, very infrequently.
>>
>>1382821
>Have I been simply very lucky`?
To some degree, but that doesn't mean you can't consistently profit, just that you shouldn't expect it to always go this way.

>Using what you feel to be "obvious" and just going for it?
There's a lot more to it than that. Countless times, things will happen that you can't explain, and sometimes what you saw as a no-brainer becomes a loss.
