Hey 4chan, I have this website. It's functional and I actually like it and use it everyday. Here's the url for the chrome extension:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/elfbite-your-new-tab-page/anjnlhdbcnfammmkhbcndcaoojhefnnh

and the url for the website itself:

www.elfbite.com

It has basically no users however, and I would like to know you guys' opinion on it. Would it be worth investing in advertising the app? What can I do to get people using it? Should I keep developing it further?

sock market always rebounds. The people who invest "big money" have a lot of reserves. They do not need that money. They do not give a fuck about recession. If the rebound takes 10 years then it takes 10 years. If you have reserves it is very hard to lose money except if you "invest" in penny stocks.

all bear markets have historically been temporary. The only logical thing to do is to double down during those times and keep investing. If you're worried about a complete economic collapse, then you might as well close your bank account and buy some physical gold.

I'm not a webdev, this is just my subjective impression and advice for your website:

>open website white page
please add a message that javascript is required.
people who disable javascript are well aware of what effects it can have but presenting a page that informs the user that javascript is needed is the minimum webdevs should do.
>have to make choices and select stuff without even knowing what the website is for
dont do that
Add a small explanation of what the website is for and offer a default config. Customization should be opt-in with a customize button.

Possible to open a bank account in another country and profit from their insane interest rates or do you need to be citizen? most interest I can get in deposit saver is 3.2% in my country but countries like Iran do like 15% for year deposit saver.
4 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>1384944

That all depends on the country. I'm an American and have an account in the country Georgia, where you can get up to 18% APY on long term USD deposits and about 10% APY on standard savings accounts. The only thing I needed to open an account at a bank there was my passport.

However there is risk in doing this as most foreign banks don't have anything like the FDIC (insurance on bank deposits issued by the American government), so if the bank goes under or just decides to not give your money back, you're shit out of luck.

And there's a reason they offer such high interest rates on US dollars -- it's very hard for them to get American money in these countries. I'll leave it to you to figure out why it's difficult for the banks to get American money and why they have to pay such high interest rates.

>deposited $200K in Zenith Bank in Accra
>literally living off the interest
>made $50K last year
>fly to Ghana and meet with branch manager in Accra
>he's a crocodile
>ok.............
>he invites me on a trip in the countryside
>we spend 5 days at a local resort clubbing
>he seems tight
>on the 4th day i start to notice a foul smell coming from his room
>he invites me in after a few drinks that night at a local pub
>he's piss drunk
>i notice a piece of a shirt hanging from his mouth
>see inside his closet
>his closet is filled with children wearing mickey mouse hats
>panic internally
>pound a couple shots with him as he screams "FUCK YOU ORLANDO"
>i leave
>immediately book a flight home from my hotel room
>may the hotel manager $8 dollars for my bar tab/room for 5 days
>"sir we are having discounted bookings for next week in honor of my 8th birthday, are you interested?"
>no
>fly home
>violently stroke to crocodile gore videos

Index funds. MSCI world, S&P 500, emerging markets for example.
>>
>>1384947
nah only S&P 500 works well i suppose.
>>
>>1384940
take that 10k out and put it in your 2.9% account.

1.375% is losing value as inflation beats it.

As for the 4k, but it some kind of fund so you learn about them for when you get actual money to deposit in a fund

Is that true that in our children's generation Real Estate will no longer remain valuable? They'll think it's a matter of course, not something you work your ass out all your life to earn.
Our parents thought that books and physical objects have much value, because they were hard to acquire (at least in the USSR)
, as my mom said "books were something people had been collecting during all their lives to pass to children and grandchildren".

So, what will they consider valuable? In my opinion: securities. In the information society it'd be much easier to buy stocks of a Real Estate company than physical Real Estate (apartments or houses).

>>
>>1384765
no. do you ever think people will not need real estate? do you think in the future there will be no demand for real estate, which is what would make it worthless?

the value of securities will go to 0 long before real estate does in the long run.

There's no penalty or tax for withdrawing the principal from a Roth IRA.

So what's stopping me from maxing out my yearly Roth IRA, collecting my employer's 25% contribution, then withdrawing it and reinvesting? Seems like free money that I can quickly get access to without having to wait until I'm 60.

>>
>>1384702
>Will your employer match your Roth contributions?
>Your employer may match Roth contributions; however, the match would be on a pre-tax (not after-tax Roth) basis. This means you would owe income taxes on the matching funds and their earnings at withdrawal. If you withdraw them prematurely (generally before age 59½), you might owe an additional 10% federal penalty tax on the match and its earnings. The 10% penalty generally does not apply to governmental 457(b) plans.

Google. Use it.
>>
The fact that no employer matches contributions to an IRA in the first place.
>>
>>1384758
Well, they match 401k, which can be rolled over into a Roth IRA

AM I FUCKED OR NOT PLEASE TELL ME!?!?
Ok so basically I'm selling a very niche product with a profit margin of $5 on each product I sell, actually sometimes its more, up to $6.25 but thats it.
My question is: Do I make a decent profit margain on this product, and if so, how many should I be selling in order for it to become a decent business. I get about 500 customers a month right now...
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
It depends on how much time it takes to produce the product. If it's a hassle then a $5 profit margin won't be worth it. it also depends on how much you are selling the product for. For example, if you sell the product for $100 then a $5 profit margin would be a bit low.
>>
Is this a physical store or online?

Are you using Paypal?

Are you making the product or ordering it and then reselling it?

What is your net each month?

Does this product have repeat customers or is it a buy it once product?

Is they're any growth potential for the product as a hobby?
