Gambled a little on a penny stock, and lost. Now it's worth 0001, and so can't be sold. Big deal, lost 600, I have gains far beyond that.
However, unless I sell it, I can't count that loss against my gains for tax purposes. Is there anything I can do?
>pic unrelated
If you're truly unable to sell it, you can take a worthless stock deduction. Its the same way people declare losses when their stock is cancelled, for example in a bankruptcy case.
hmm. i'm no expert but don't you have to do end of year mark to market for taxes?

Thank you, I'll look that up, sounds like what I'll end up doing since it's flatlined for the past 2 months.
So these guys are trying to get me into this company called Illgamos and they got some coin called ilcoin.
What do you guys think? I feel like it's another ponzi scheme based around crypto MLM type shit.
What do you think?
Shill as fuck imo.
>>1382593
Well it's definitely a ponzi, but if it got released today, I'll put a few bucks and try to cash out in the first pump.
>>1382601
Apparently it's not listed on any crypto market.
Nor is it available to just download the wallet without paying for the package.
>>1382608
Welcome to the new reality of crypto. As I predicted, it's starting to choke on its own scammy, fraudulent side. I further predict that nothing is going to break free of that until something comes along which has some kind built in protection from being used as and a pump and dump scam.
How much do you guys buy into fibonacci retracements when analyzing charts? If you plot them over price trends there definately are patterns, but how much of this is confirmation bias? You can find patterns in anything if you look hard enough.

Hey biz,
I've been curious about this topic for a couple days and since there isn't a legal board on here I feel you guys would be able to shed some light on this.
When is it legal to make a show or Youtube channel that depicts people either without their consent or without giving them some of the revenue money as a fellow content creator?
Some examples I've had on my mind:
To Catch a Predator. The show creators receive revenue from ads however the men being caught do not. The men do not want to be shown on the show and do not want their chat messages read yet the show does so anyway. As well, the men do not receive monetary compensation even though they are the spotlight and the show could not exist without them. They are content creators, maybe even more so than the show creators yet have no chance of being paid for it.
If a man breaking into a home can sue after getting his nose broken by the home owner, why can't these men expect to be paid? They are being used against their will to make someone else profit.
Ownage Pranks on Youtube. This guy makes money off of his channel when he posts vids and receives hundreds of thousands if not millions of views. All of his videos revolve around the entertainment due to both himself and others. Would any of the people in the calls be able to justifiably take him to court for not including them in the profit?
Another example, the Youtube show "Theater of Life".
>>1382473
Even to catch a predator has to get the dude to sign the waiver or else they'll have to blur his face. For YouTube pranks, you can fuck with people in public you're within you rights to film stuff in public. That's where chicks got pissed about drones flying over the beach getting pics if them in their bikinis they wanted to steal the camera or erase footage but the perv filming didn't have to huehue
>>1382482
So if I'm in a phone call or online video chat, some guy can record it, upload it to youtube, and profit off of it without me being able to do a damn thing? WTF is that? When is the line drawn between public bystander and content creator?

I do not think this guy has said one fucking thing of substance or truth in any of his videos. Its the epitome of snake oil/self fulfilling prophecy. How is he so popular but more important what is going on in this mans head? is he a psychopath?
>>1382102
>truth in any of his videos
Well, his garage is filled with knawledge.
>>1382102
He's a shill
But the ignorant see his rented cars and blindly follow, so it just becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
Think of it like this: he's a televangelist whore, but he's selling his own success in place of God
He faked his first two videos with rentals, his 67 steps were simply stories outlining others success. The house in his videos? Rented.
He's very fucking smart, now he can actually afford shit like that and his content is getting pretty good.
Prime example of fake it till you make it/manipulation.
It takes money to make money.
Thoughts?
Thoughts on what? Just general thoughts?

Is capital necessary to see profit
How can an online business owner avoid paying such massive taxes, since money goes straight through banks, it seems impossible to dodge. I pay VAT on most stock for my business, shipping and initial orders/packing/handling fees fucking suck too, returns suck ass, shipping stock in for resale is pretty pricy to, not to mention paying employees and buying the neccecary tools/equipment to make the business run smoothly, for example I have to buy seperate nice looking boxes to put the stuff in before I sell it because the customers like it that way.
Fucking everything eats away at profit, then comes the bills and warehouse storage, and everything in between.
>this kills the business
I might be wrong but looks to me we are not talking about taxes only. Customer preferences, equipement and returns are inherent to your business model operational and competitive needs, there is no way around it wherever you are, you can only work on improving these processes.
Regarding taxes, it depends where you are, what is your turnover etc...
Maybe you can look at housing your company in a different country.
>>1382029
Invest in a house or a retirement account,
>>1382046
I wasn't complaining about business expenses like shipping and returns, I was just saying that they eat away at profits, making taxes so much worse, since they are so high. I know that these expenses cant be helped but they really aren't a problem since i'm still making a profit. Also, since my company is technically based in the UK, it wouldn't be possible to relocate the business to somewhere on business, however I think that I would potentially transfer my "take home profit" to a bank account in another country that has lower or no tax at all. Thanks though.
Only chart you need.
