I have 18k in the bank, how do I get rich? I'm a NEET with nothing but that lawsuit money to my name and a shitty A+ cert I got in my high school computer repair class.

Start a business doing something that any idiot can do.
Mowing lawns is good.
Charge slightly less than the competition.
Take on more work than you can do by yourself.
Hire others to help you.
Get more work.
Wash, rinse and repeat until you have enough work to hire a manager, then a salesman. Then a couple more for good measure.

Take your $18k and blow it on hats.
>>
>>1486020
This is what I was planning on doing once I get some experience in actual computer repair jobs but I'm wary if I can succeed or not on my own.
>>

>I'm wary if I can succeed or not on my own.
it costs very little to find out.

I personally pay $50 for a business license, $1000 a year for liability insurance if I don't have employees, $60/month for a business phone that comes with a yellow pages listing, and about a thousand a year on advertising.

your expenses grow as your business does, but you can worry about that when it happens.

I'm essentially a penniless NEET but I'm inexplicably catnip to affluent, attractive women from good backgrounds with a high degree of education. I'm on my way to becoming either an MD or a military officer, depending on whether med-school or getting in peak shape happens first.

Is the best move to just marry one of these women, or to hold out for whatever I can get once I scale up my achievements?

The chicks you describe will fuck you and forget you as soon as an even prettier dude shows up. Furthermore, other pretty dudes are also open to having the advantages of actually going someplace in life/having money/having a good job.

Focus on a career path.

Also never post McKayla Maroney ever again. She's my waifu.

You think that the women who'd go for a NEET would run off with someone more successful even though they could already do that?

McKayla Maroney is erryone's waifu mang.

Good emerging investment opportunities, shitty business idea.

It'll cap, effectively, for small investors/businessmen when the market gets saturated and big agri gets involved. A regulatory crackdown will accompany this and herald big agri's move into marijuana.

Why not invest in McDonalds, then?

You can have something real and you probably won't make any money either way.

I've been wanting to break into a very niche business where only 2 small companies compete. The companies began around the same time--a few years ago, and they make about 1 mil/yr in sales with a fairly minimal employee base.
I've attempted to reach out to both companies over facebook, their official websites and meeting in person with their sales reps, but they aren't interested in taking in anyone new or giving out information on how they create their products....
So I have been teaching myself how to make the product to create a portfolio and show them my ideas. I'm in the last two semesters of my B.S., and the process is kinda tough considering my knowledge base, but I'm making progress.

When and if I ever get to the point of being a potential candidate for either company, how should I proceed?

Obviously start your own company and undercut them with illegal immigrant labour/chinese manufacturing, then once they are out of business raise your prices.
>>
>>1485763
Other than the illegal part this is solid advice.

if you can take a chunk of their sales from them they'll quickly try to buy you out. Even if you're just a threat they'll likely make you an offer or two. Either way, it's then up to you- take their offer and maybe go to work for them, or keep right on eating their breakfast until they work for you.

personally I went the second route- over the years I've bought out or competed out more small businesses than I have fingers and toes.
>>
>>1485795
I was thinking of this also. The process they use to create their product uses 3D printing, and the price is pretty high IMO, although I'm not sure what filament they use.

Currently researching ways to make my own filament through recycling and such. Thanks for the confirmation, that's great to hear you've had success!

Blacked Out Resume.png

Hey guys, I'm going into my 5th year (still undergrad, double majoring in finance and accounting for the CPA requirement of 150 hours).

My GPA is kinda shit, 3.33 overall, like 3.13 accounting, 3.5 finance (which is okay). I'm assuming I'm probably barred from any Big 4 Firm positions, but since I plan to have my CPA by next summer, I don't think I'll be completely fucked.

Anywho, gimme tips on my resume. Also, what kind of job / salary can I expect with a CPA and a few previous internships? I plan to move to CO, probably Denver, CO Springs, or Fort Collins.

Thanks

Use Times New Roman 12 pt.

Be prepared with an explanation for your period of unemployment.
>>
>>1485722
I've always heard you're not supposed to do that because it seems like you didn't put thought into your resume.

Also, what period? April-Graduation? That will be fairly easy since I had a trip abroad, and my schedule is kinda fucked.
>>
>>1485721
Some off-handed thoughts, without going into too much detail:
- Use Times New Roman or another serifed font.
- Abbreviate: B.S., B.B.A.
- Good work experience bullet points. I'd see if you can't make them more terse and maybe add some space between the bullets, though not a full line.
- Good shortening of the food place work.
- I'd try to get better extracurriculars or at least sell the finance society one better
- Kill "PowerPoint, Word, and Excel," and just mention it quickly in relation to the other more intense programs you have experience with.

More broadly: You better have a really, really good reason why it took you 5 years. A 3.33 GPA isn't outright awful, but it looks bad that you're taking 5 years when many people get out in 4 (and sometimes doubling in 3). In other words, if I was a hiring manager, I'd see that and wonder why you weren't able to get better grades with the extra time you had - think about it and come up with a reason that isn't "lol stress"

To be clear, w/r/t the other post, you'll want to explain the periods of unemployment, not mention them on your resume. You'll do fine.

What do I do now /biz/ ? I'm 18 and I would really enjoy getting into day-trading and I was wondering where to start?

Currently starting my first semester studying marketing with an interest in finance.

Side question: would treating myself to 10% of profits be too much?
