So I am about to finish my undergrad studies in history, but I really do not want to teach. I looked at my other options and wondered if I should do archival work or get into librarian studies and information. Other option I am looking into is learning another language and hoping that it would help me find a job easier. What do you guys think about this game plan or have any insight on what to do?

Learn about money + Sales + Investment. Start a Family Investment Office. Invest with "History" in mind. Take 1% management fees. Success.

Lets talk single family home investments.

I got 200k to invest.

I have had 2 good gains (150k/200k) on single family home investments that I turned into rentals.

Bought them both at the absolute prime time, 2011/2012 the bottom of the market.

Looking around now, not seeing any deals. Zillow research data shows my area (Seattle) housing is back at pre-crash levels and increasing at similar rates. Is this housing market due for another falter? Should I put my money elsewhere or jam into another single family home?

LEVERAGE UP AND GET MORE HOMES

Hi friendo. I live in a suburb of Portland. Our housing prices are skyrocketing as well. A lot of people are worried about an artificial bubble just like Seattle is.

I think the difference between Seattle and Portland is the availability of high paying jobs.

Portland has Nike. Intel. Columbia. Bonneville. A lot of strong but stagnant and fixed size organizations. Portland is mecca to Bay Area and Silicon Valley hipsters who cashed out their cush Google/Facebook related job and are buying up real estate over market value.

Our median income is kind of weak and more importantly really stagnant

Seattle on the other hand is home to Amazon and Boeing. Just for starters.

I think Portland might burst. I don't think Seattle will

Do people really rent entire homes like that? Why? Wouldnt a mortgage be more cost effective

Best strategies for overcoming habitual analysis paralysis?
It's all well and good to say "just do SOMETHING and do it now" but what happens when you can't even pick which thing to do?

I'm more or less talking about the very beginning of starting a project but let's not limit this to any one field, I'm taking about anything from starting a business, deciding on how to divide your portfolio, hell, even which restaurant should we go to tonight?

Does anyone else get depressed when they think too much about compound interest? Like I'm lying in bed working out how much money I'll have when I'm 60 based off average returns and its all well and good. But then I start to visualise that future version of me, looking at my account balance. Happy that I'm rich but I'm also old now, my parents are dead, I'm possibly alone, thinking back to when I was 21. And now I'm in the old mans head fantasising about when I was young. Looking back on things that seemed mundane at the time, but now provide nostalgia and melancholy. I start crying but then realise i'm still young and should do the best I can to make the most of it, maybe spend more time enjoying things while passively investing in retirement. Time is our most valuable asset

It's just an app that allows simple trades.
They can offer a commission free setup because they're not spending for the features a real brokerage has (real time quotes, margin, AH, etc.).
Plenty of morons are unaware of this, however, and feel that they are the solution to "Wall Street brokerages rigged by the Jews".

Brazil needs sovereign ownership I think. There is a loophole where you can create a Corp dump $50K in it and be given a visa. I've not been able to determine the limitations on that visa though.

I did read that if your Corp managed property you could come and go as you pleased - to inspect the property of course.

Nepal.a you have to be born there, or be married to someone who was. A Corp can get land, but for industrial purposes only and has to contribute consistently to the economy - no buy and hold.
>>
For got. SK has some screwy land ownership rules. But I guess if your desperate it can work out for you.

I'm an Australian who buys land everywhere, but love buying chunks of the US when I get a chance.... Building to buy a Texas ranch next.

I'm part of some local REI clubs, so there are communities of investors, at least in real estate. But REI is pretty "networky" by it's nature, since it's all about who you know.

Ive been on this board since its inception and for a business board that exists solely online it seems to lack anyone with an actual company

Where my dropshipping entrepreneurs and shit?

We have ebay threads but no fulfillment by amazon importers?

How profitable would it be to start a Reddit-like site aimed at conservatives, as well as people of other "unpopular" groups like

>Alt Right
>Gamergate
>Brexit and other Anti-EU movements
>Classical liberals
>Libertarians
>MRAs
>Red pill crowd
>Republicans
>Trump or Marine Le Pen supporters
10 posts and 1 images submitted.

Extremely profitable, but there wouldn't be a point because you need leftists to corrupt their views and change them, so they become conservatives. If you just make a site that's aimed at conservatives, you're going to get another 4chan where a bunch of memekings and memequeens share memes.
>>
>>1483539
I wish you idiots would stop lumping conservatism in with memers and the alt right. The alt right is mostly fascist. FASCIST. An ideology that runs contrary to traditional conservative values in almost every respect.

Thinking of joining the Canadian Forces, is it a good idea?

I am wondering what type of benefits having military experience on your resume can give you for future career searching. I'd like to get into Consulting or Banking, or even Public Policy.

I'd like to eventually get into the Cyber department.

Can the military be good for this?

I'm not worried about salary, my parents are well off enough I can survive on whatever I get.

They hardly hire anyone because we're not in active combat anywhere really. Also numerous repeat budget cuts.

>I'm not worried about salary
That's not a concern... Given that the Canadian forces is the highest paid military in the world.

Yes of course. Canadian forces are well reputed for peacekeeping all over the world.

We are also the most highly paid military in the world.

With construction at an all time high, would copper theft be a sound side job?

working as a 1st year plumber before I got laid off, I was instructed to rip out all the old copper from walls and cut them into uniform bits, I had to rip out thousands of dollars worth everyday.

Copper is 1.77$ a pound, every house getting renovated is fenced off but their old plumbing systems are ripe for the taking.

I could probably net 200$ a sortie with a sawzall, hockey bag, and a car.

Scrap metal buyers are required by law to send reports to the police and are required to see ID. I could make a nest egg and sell everything once the heat dies down.

Would this be a viable side quest?

Depends on your area and if your construction employs any sort of armed security.

Doesn't matter if it's legal for them to shoot you if they blow your ass away over some wire, yeah?

Nursing's kind of a shit job if you're just putting in time; you have to put up with a lot of bullshit.

>Is this a /biz/ move?

Anything that involves people or the outside world is usually not /biz/ move.

Is it a good move? If you can make it happen, yes.
Political Campaigns have long also been a good opportunity to build a personal brand, a publicity stunt, so even if you don't win you've still created brand equity you can parlay into your next or current business.

Just be prepared to deal with the evillest, most self obsessed, hypocritical sacks of shit you could ever imagine sharing a room with: politicians.

I could build any desktop, mobile, or web-based product, but I have no ideas. I can't come up with ideas. I am the antithesis of the "idea guy".

Occasionally, I will try to prototype an idea but it won't have product-market fit.
