Hey /biz/

I'm wanting to start up a cards, comics and games store in my area (Large US city). It has a large community for comics, mtg, warhammer, yu-gi-oh, pokemon ect. I realize you guys probably get this kind of thread semi-often (I'm just a tourist), so to get a large amount of the shit posting out of the way I already know I'm not going to make a ton of money through this. My main hope is to be able to clear about 50k a year as salary after 3-4 years of hard work and busting ass to grow the business. To do this I'm wanting to most sell on the internet through TCGplayer for singles, ebay and amazon for things like boosters, accessories ect. as well as grow locally through tournaments and events. I have a location picked out and have come up with a start up budget of approx 35k including inventory. I have a friend who's wants to partner with me who's an expert in the area's I'm not, and a lawyer buddy who's willing to draw up my LLC for free. I also have 2 years behind the counter as an assistant manager at a games and comic store.

I've done my research and I'm confident that I can run the store with 1 full time employee and a part-time employee for the first year with my current start up budget in mind. My problem and what I've been banging my head into a wall is how can I build up to that 35k. I'm a poorfag who makes less than 30k a year (not including bonus). I get quarterly bonus at my job (which I'm planning on saving towards the shop) that would be between 1k-2.7k a quarter. Besides flipping collections can anyone recommend a good source of short to mid term investments or ways I can increase my 1-2k every three months into my start up capitol?

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to show I'm serious about this. I'm sick of being someone's wageslave. If I'm gonna break my back for something, I want it to be mine.

I was wondering if anyone could point me towards ways to make legitimate cash with a budget of next to nothing at all. I know this is odd, but I'm desperate and my asshole needs a break from all the fucking from daddy life's giant green dragon cock. Yes, I'm employed and looking for a new job at this time. I see all this posting about day trading and investing, but I don't understand how anyone could possibly make consistent money. like how do you retards pick stocks? Is it just gut feeling, or do you actually have a sound strategy?

Hi biz,

I graduate high school this year. My Ivy League apps are all sent in, but regardless of what happens there, I want a great internship.

I got a perfect score on the ACT and am a really high achiever in several fields. Really I have no limits as to what fields I would want to intern in, except no computer science (I haven't learned any programming yet).

Any suggestions as to how to go after a great spot off the top of your head?

Help. I'm panicking.

I'm a junior at a public university, majoring in Management Information Systems. Little to no programming background. I applied for a programming internship with a big 4 consulting firm (it's a target school).

I've gone through 2 interviews and 1 reception, as well as an office tour and was extended an offer.

Now, I have very little programming experience. I just finished an introductory java course with a B+ and I feel like I didn't learn much at all.

I didn't expect to actually get the internship. Programming is not my passion, management is.

I feel like I got the internship solely because I look good in a suit and can carry conversation. I've done nor applied for any internships. I should be happy but I'm scared that I'll fail.


Tips, guidance, advice, suggestions, insight, anything?

My best friend lives in Florida. He made a dumb decision by getting a degree in a pretty useless field, and now he's both overqualified for minimum wage jobs and underqualified for everything else. He's submitted his resume to probably at least a thousand places over nearly a year and they all rejected him. He feels like he's looked at every possible option and is now seriously considering doing amateur porn simply because nothing else is working works.

How do I help him? I don't like seeing him suffer but we talk almost every day and I can't take hearing about this anymore. I'm completely out of suggestions, nothing works.

What do you do when you have no options in life? I'm disabled and have been from a rather young age, so neetbux suck. I never have enough money to do anything major with my life and at this point I can't see a way that I ever will outside of winning the lottery, which will almost certainly never happen. Whereas most people can build their life step by step, I'm stuck because my income is never likely to ever increase. And I'm not even allowed to SAVE money because of stupid requirements for SSI. What the fuck do I do?

Last week I quit my job of two years and started working at a new job. 5 days into the job, I was discharged from my probation. It's a long story but I was overzealous in parking enforcement.

Outlays:
Mortgage payment: $2,300/month
Various expenses (utilities, phone, car, etc.): $500/month

Inlays:
Veterans disability: $1,500/month

My non-retirement savings: $5K

I've never been on welfare and I don't know what to do, other than try to get a new job.

How does one go about getting welfare temporarily,? I just want to bridge the gap between employment.
