What tips do you have for making it as a musician?
I spend a few hours a day honing my songwriting craft, and I want to make it more than just a hobby.
How do I amass an audience and make money?

>Construct an image, to paraphrase Lemmy "I don't get what's with all these kids playing in flannels while looking at their shoes. If you want to play rock n'roll you got to look like something from outer-fucking-space!"
>Now you understand the appeal all rock music from Little Richard, to David Bowie, to Poison
>Start organizing gigs, think about merchandise, band extensions: look at online stores for Judas Preist and Iron Maiden. Look at the endless Misfits merchandise
>Develop a following: think about Apple and their cultish following, except instead of Apple Stores and Keynotes you have live-gigs where you sell merch.
>Maybe buy a bus, paint it, snapchat the fuck outta your adventures

Hi biz
Story short, everyone on social media and work as found my porn accounts and erp logs and know im a yellow fever loli pedophile, with some pretty specific fetishes. And the whole world, including my parents, know too.
My only chance in getting a career is starting a completely new identity. So, how the fuck do i go about doing this? I just want to run away from civilization and work on some farm in south east asia. I have about 15k to spend.
>inb4 roleplay
How did you get yourself in this situation
>>1921689
Chances are no one fucking cares.
They might tease you a bit, but that's all, who the fuck cares.
>>1921692
i like to fuck with people online and blogpost on forum sites and imageboards besides 4chan. It was gradual process from people knowing what state i live in, to watch city, to what college, to what job, and to my identity. I woke up to my social media today filled with messages from friends asking if im okay and to see help, and about 60% blocked me. And I check the feed history, and a bunch of trolls leaked my info.
Ive nope-ing in my bed all day and got some ramen noodles at an oriental asian restaurant to cheer myself up.
Is it wrong to feel bad about missing work due to being legitimately ill?
Have I gone full-wagie?
>>1921677
You only feel bad because your work makes you feel guilty.
My job let's me take infinite PTO. kek
>call off sick
>not really sick
>don't give a shit
They don't appreciate a damn thing I do. Me and one other person do most of the work while everyone has a giant ice scream social and fuck around on their phones.
If either one of us aren't there, nothing gets done on time.

What caused the trading card market to crash?
>>1921658
People grew out of adolescence.
>>1921665
But they were replenished by another generation of adolescents.
The trading card market crashed?
>not buying $100 worth of a bunch of .0003 coins
why arnt u doing this????
>>1921656
Because I could think of an infinite number of things I'd rather do with $100 than give to an obvious ponzi scheme

Who else /massive failure/ here?
>>1921636

>>1921640

>t. 15 yr old making 1 billion an hr
>>1921636
Not a failure at all, you're making good money and you get a job where most of the day you aren't bothered. Also, it's easy stress free work. Factory jobs are actually usually pretty chill.
I'd take that any day over being a doctor or some shit.
What are some "must-read" books for beginner investors? I'm 18 and haven't got a clue. I've seen a lot of book suggestions being thrown around but am not sure what to get. Any other recommendations regarding investing would also be nice.
just stay in FUEL or whatever is in the season for 2-7 months, previous meme was amd

Best book I read was a random walk down wall Street. It gives a good synopsis on how investing works and what wall Street is.
Hi, I'm here for the job interview?
Well, looks like you have a solid work history for this industry and position. Good references. Good recommendation letters. You're hired!

>tfw in college
>tfw professors regularly use khanacademy videos as a teaching tool then expand/comment on the video
Why isn't khanacademy accredited yet?
>>1921303
What a fantastic use of your tuition fee!
>>1921307
It's kinda bullshit.
>read textbook before class
>teacher goes over what we read via powerpoint
>places some khanacademy videos
>then goes over briefly what we will do in the next class/questions
>repeat
Nothing pisses me off more when a professor say to Google a topic. I'm paying 3k a class. You fucking explain it.
The problem is that professors are not educators first and foremost. They're researchers, grant chasers, contractors, and educators on the side. The people making courses online care deeply about education, plan out their lessons, research the latest technology because there is competition in the online education market. I've gotten better value out of 20$ courses on Udemy than some of my university courses. I fucking hate universities. If it weren't for accreditation they would be out of business.
Finishing my MS this semester. Highly recommend using online resources unless you want that piece of paper.
>TFW fell for the sham of living with my parents and being a manchild instead of moving out by 20-21
You don't know how much I regret it. The savings are not worth it. Nothing is worth this.
>>1921294
Was worth it for people who now have their own mortgage free condo, econobox car and decent portfolio
vs
forever renting, stock 328 for the looks, constant stress
>>1921294
>moving out by 20-21
Kid, if you were still there by 20-21 you already failed life. In America, we grow up at 18.
>>1921294
>328
Oh shut the fuck up. If you don't like it, move out. As if you moving out a few years earlier would have prevented your forever-alone virgin ass from developing testosterone.
How do I into start-ups?
This summer I will have a lot of free time, living with my grandparents while I work a software engineering internship. I would like to start learning about building a business and generating income.
I think I can easily find solutions to problems, and figure out the logistics of the business itself... but how do I into ideas? If I could just know what I needed to get done, then I could do it.
What are good ideas for products or how can I go about researching to find ideas for products?
is this thread actually for real? Like, do people actually believe they will get help?
Why on earth would anyone give you their own ;profitable ideas?
>>1921236
I don't mean to ask for ideas, but rather ways to get inspiration for ideas / what are the general indicators of a good idea
autist
I mean honestly it's just a question of addressing needs and wants that other people aren't answering. If people are very commonly bitching about a problem or if a few people you know constantly bitch about a problem, ask yourself why it can't be fixed with X solution, then come up with a million ways in which said solution is fucking retarded. If you can't come up with any, talk to the smartest guy you know and have him pick it for flaws. If the only flaws you can come up with are a few logistical hurdles, address it yourself and make money.
