I plan on making an aquarium necklace similar to pic related. I was thinking of going to Meier (like a localized Walmart) and purchasing what they call a "Mystery Snail" to put in here.

Would the snail do alright? What should I do to ensure enough algae and proper living conditions are provided for it?

Why would you do that?

Why would you carry such a thing around with you?

Why does it need a living being inside it?

Do you need to be this much of a special snowflake?

The only bats that do well in captivity are fruit bats, and vampires. Yours isn't either and needs to be released.

Hopefully you're a troll, but if not enjoy your dead bat and/or dying from rabies I guess.

Hello /an/,

today I have a question for you. I live in an apartment which is the size of around 40m2 (~430 squarefeet). Do you think it would be sufficient to adopt an akita puppy to live with me?

Some more informations:

While my apartment is small, I live very rural and in less than a minute (150 meters (~490 feet)) there's a river that literally has hours to walk in each direction on the causeway.

The dog would not be alone for longer periods of time ever. I am retired (kind of like disablity in the US but basically for as long as I live) and do not attend any social activities except family visits and around 3 hours of friend activity a week.

The idea for adopting a pup basically came from my shrink. I had not considered this before but spent the last 3 weeks researching online about all kind of dogs and breeds and the therapeutic results they can cause. It was suggested as a measure of therapy, since basically nothing else works at me. I am a very antisocial person but I do like hiking and being outside a lot, however, I do not see the sense in doing it by myself anymore and I don't like to be around people for longer periods of time, so after evaluating the situation for a long time I came to the conclusion, that a dog might be the perfect companion for me.

I have not owned a dog myself before, however, I lived with people that bred collies and cocker spaniels before and saw a many litters growing up. I ended up taking a liking to the akita because of how they are so much of a one person dog and not someone that would just walk away with whoever offered them a piece of sausage first. I know they have a very strongwilled personality, but I am extremely stubborn myself, so I think we could arrange and get along very well.

I think I covered most of what I would consider interesting myself, but feel free to ask more questions, if you'd like. If you live in an apartment with a dog especially an akita, please share your experiences.

Do not get an akita if you are inexperienced with dogs or inferm/feeble/weak in any way.

Adopt a dog from a shelter. There is no reason to pay for an expensive dog for non-working reasons. Paying for a dog for non-working reasons effectively kills one shelter dog.

>Paying for a dog for non-working reasons effectively kills one shelter dog

Guilt tripping nigger.

>>2094832

OP it's fine. The apartment size isn't really the issue.

If you can take the dog for a long walk/run every day it will be fine. Just make sure you train the fuck out of it and if you can take it to classes.

Just make sure the dog will suit your climate.

Hi, /an/imals,
My sweet girl had to be let go two days ago at the age of 6--cancer was killing her. It was the most heartbreaking experience of my life and has left a rift inside my heart because she was just that special to me. Moving forward, I can't help but think that maybe her handlers (the breeders) didn't understand their role, breeding, social/behavioral ques of the species/breed, and thereby neglected some fundamental/developmental need which lead to a compromised immune system and ultimately a malignant cancer. So, I've decided that I should become a breeder to ensure every puppy receives the absolute best care possible.
I've lived with dogs my whole life (26 years) and in particular rottweilers but that's as far as my qualifications go.
Any serious /an/imals have experience breeding that can tell me where to begin? It's obviously not as simple as just letting two dogs fuck and then selling puppies.
Pic unrelated

Cont.

My goal is to become one of the nation's--if not then the world's, foremost breeder of rottweilers. When people come to me looking to buy a rottie pup then I want them to know they're not just buying a product I'm selling, they're buying a piece of my heart and soul. I want people to just KNOW by the conditions my rottie families live in that they're cared for beyond necessity and any puppy purchased from my kennel is given the absolute best possible start to life.
Ultimately, I'd also like to have a plot of land large enough to house any puppies that may not be purchased, so they can continue their lives and still have the best possible care available.
>>
So you're going to help by adding more dogs to an already overpopulated dog population as well as potential bad owners?
>>
>>2096533
>>2096535
Well, your heart is in the right place, just make sure your head is as well. Do your research, embrace the internet and use it for all its worth. Check in to local dog clubs and spend some time with reputable breeders, ask lots of questions.
Be prepared to take some flak from this board about wanting to be a BYB, it's going to be said it's the nature of the board. Remember if you're going to post on 4chan you better have thick skin.

My chihuahua mix occasional lets out a yelp and limps while playing. He then doesn't put weight on his back left foot for a few minutes. This has happened a handful of times in the last week or two. I have a vet appointment scheduled for early next week. I hope it's not too serious, the pad looks fine. I've poked/squeezed his leg to try to determine where the pain is but he doesn't give me any indication.

Does anyone have pet insurance? I looked into it and it's $15-50/m depending on deductible etc which adds up to a lot of money over the course of a dog's lifetime. Doggie x-rays must be expensive though.

Should I get pet insurance? Will it go into affect by next Monday?

Sounds like it may be a luxating patella issue, but of course a vet would be able to tell you a lot better.

Im not very familar with pet health insurance, but I know of the optiobs out there theyre not very many good ones in regards to what they cover vs how much it cost. A better option would be to see if your vet accepts CareCredit, which is like a credit card you apply for and gives you a credit limit of $600+ dollars depending on your credit. The vet i work for accepts it and its usually interest free for the first 18 months or so

You can also see the "pet ramp" in the background that lets the dog and vats go down to ground level, "no stairs". It gets some looks from the neighbors.

Need help with my doggo, anons.

I have a corgi. Guy is the best, but has a few probles. First of all the boy is extremely afraid of traffic, and even more of garbage trucks.

Sometimes and he starts being aggresive towards other male doggos. Usually those castrated he leaves alone. I'm sure it is connected to his anxiety, he gets exponentially more aggresive while scared.

This partially ruins his (and mine) life - he's scared shitless half of the time he's out and can't make friends with other doggos.

Pic realted, that's the guy.

Halp, /an/. You're my only hope

so I really need your help /an/

my cat lost a lot of weight really quickly, wasn' eating and was acting odd

we took her to the vet, and the vet said she had a very large kindney and gave us some amoxyclav 50 (amoxcillin trihydrate 40 and clavulanic acid 10), as well as some special kidney food

we were told to give the cat one tab in the morning, and one at night, but we ended up more often giving her one at 1pm and one at about 10pm

she seems to be gaining weight again and eating more, and is doing a lot better

BUT she has lost a large patch of her fur around the neck area, it looks like it's just fallen out

I'm wondering if it's a reaction to the antibiotics, related to her kidney; or if something else is the cause and we got a wrong diagnosis from the vet

Appeal to 4chan for information isn't going to do much, you are asking us to tell you, based on a single symptom, that your vet might have misdiagnosed you. Go back to the vet. we cannot help

They're the only "bears" that willing smother, kill or willingly neglect their offspring. As far as we should be concerned, nature should be allowed to take its course in regards to the panda. If they're too stupid to mate, then that's natty sells at work.
