Why do dogfags anthropomorphise so much? Are they autistic?
>>
>>2269054
you'd panic too if you had sex with a dog while you were a child
>>
Dogs are very bad at generalizing. A cat indoors is actually very different than a cat outdoors. They don't have the faculties to realize "fluffly creature in my house is the same as fluffy creature outside".

Nonetheless, he sounds like a good boy. I am sorry for your lain, anon. Spend as much time as you can with him, even if it is just snuggling with each other.

Ok, if you animal expert autists think that animals don't get the concept of "fun" and rather always have something practical in mind then why is this bird repeatedly snowboarding on this roof?

>>
Those guys are retarded, but you picked the worst animal as an example.
Even the worst of the autists tend to admit corvids are capable of that stuff.
>>
Either their research is flawed or their interpretation is. Spend time around animals if various species and you will observe behaviour that has ni purpose other than for the hell of it for fun. This is especially obvious with juveniles.

Speaking of which I watched a squirrel have a wrestling match with a twig last month. Squirrel kept tossing it around and rolling on his back, doing somersaults with it.
>>
>>2268974
um, what makes you think ethologists don't see animals having fun?

play is one of the more commonly studied behaviors among animal experts.

The delusion of cat owners that see literally EVERYTHING as a sign of love by their cats.

The cat could literally set the house on fire and they'd still think it's done out of pure love.

Someone plz help me I don't know what to do with her she keeps peeing on my bed when she has a clean kittey litter tray (it's always clean) and she's only aloud in over night she's always fed and always has water
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
She probably has a urinary infection and is trying to let you know that she is feeling sick or there is something wrong with her pee.

Take her to the vet
>>
>>2268460
If you haven't tossed that whole mattress, you're fucking disgusting. You do realize you smell like cat piss all the time now? Don't even give me the "oh I cleaned it!" Because it doesn't matter, it still stinks.

The cat is just being an asshole because it's a cat. If you weren't a complete idiot you wouldn't have let the disgusting thing on your bed in the first place, ESPECIALLY after it already pissed on your bed.
>>
>>2268555
You don't own cats or you are just an idiot.

That cat changed behaviour because it's trying to get help, not being an asshole.

Don't get cats, you clearly are too self absorbed to communicate with an animal that doesn't speak

Neuter if has balls. Oxen can be awesome companions if you don't mind shoveling 25 lbs of shit a day. Very comfy.

If it has udder you're going to have to get it knocked up every year from a pixie stix or it will get all hormonal after three years. But at least you'll get milk and a new cow every year for four years.

Hey all, my kitty was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism 5 weeks ago, and we've been exactly compliant with meds from day 1 (he will eat the pill hidden in a treat, lucky). It seemed to work right away (before diagnosis he was eating, but unable to hold food down, afterwards he stopped throwing up immediately and was still his same old self). took him to a vet visit recently and he had gained back a little weight (was 10lbs, back up to 10.5lbs) and his thyroid level was down but still not in normal range (from 7.5ish to 5ish). The vet told me to watch out for him acting restless (not hyper, but more like unable to relax in one spot for very long).

well beginning just yesterday he's acting restless, but even more concerning is he wont eat. He isn't throwing up, but he won't eat anything but his treats (he took his pill-in-treat as usual). I'm just a little surprised at the not eating part

I'll be calling the vet, but I just would like more information if anyone has experience with this. I've had a hyperthyroid cat before and she never stopped eating

TL'DR cat being treated for hyperthyroid is now not eating

(pic isn't him but looks like him)

The best way to comfort him and to get him to eat is to give him some antifreeze. It will calm his nerves and he'll his appetite.
>>
>>2267920
oh /an/, hope you never change
>>
well for anyone who cares, I called the vet and they said to half his dose of the hyperthyroid meds. Even though his thyroid level was still a little high, they said that his normal might be higher than the average range.

I'll let you guys know what happens! since I know you're just dying to find out more

Eating meat is fine. Dog and cat meat is looked down upon in civilized countries because "lol household pets". Having a balanced diet of meats, fruits, and veggies is the way to go. Unless you want to look like this guy then eat your balanced diet.

This is something I haven't been able to type out for nearly four years. I wrote this for a thread about dreams, but I think it's more appropriate here.

My family got a dog my senior year of high school. I was struggling a lot that year, and I couldn't seem to talk about it with anyone. I didn't know it at the time but I was suffering from symptoms of bi-polar disorder that I just attributed to stress, teen angst, and being too introverted to open up to even my closest friends (only one really.)

The further the year went on the more I spiraled into depression and psychosis. I applied to colleges and scholarships, got all my shit paid for and in order, and every night I went home and hurt myself and cried and barely slept from the constant racing thoughts. Looking back I don't know how my family didn't see this, but my dog, Duke, did. Sometimes in the middle of the night, when I was deep in a pit, he'd come and scratch at my door, hop on my bed, and kinda huff as he settled to lay by me. He was the only one that knew how sad I was.

I moved out to go to college and moved back within a month because I'd completely gone off the deep end. I had nearly killed myself, but that finally got me into therapy. I started to get back on my feet, and in about two years I moved away again for college.

I dropped out again after about a year, but I stayed up in the city and worked. Unfortunately I couldn't make enough to pay for my medication, so I stopped taking it because somehow paying rent is more important than my health. My favorite thing was to go home for a few nights and be greeted by Duke. He'd make a sound that we called "awoo" when he hadn't seen someone he liked in a while. I looked forward to that awoo every drive home.

One weekend when I was out of state, Duke got sick. I rushed home as soon as I could. I sat with him in the living room next to his IV. I patted his head, kissed his big old face. Of course I cried a lot too, but I'd do it in my room, alone. I was off medication for a few months by then and had been in a pit just as long. Within ten minutes of me crying alone, I heard a scratch at my door. Duke had somehow managed to hobble all the way to my room in the middle of the night without assistance. He couldn't hop on my bed, so I laid beside him on the floor.

I had to leave again for work, and I knew when I left I probably wouldn't see him again. I remember sitting by him in the dining room looking at his big paw just before I left. For some reason that image of his paw sticks with me more than anything from that time. On my way back I picked a particularly deserted part of the road. I had had plans to kill myself for a while. I had dropped out of college again, I could barely support myself, I was a strain on my roommates, and I still couldn't rely on anyone. I couldn't tell anyone how much I was suffering.
>>
Duke died March 20th of 2013 and from there I started my planning. I was going to drive somewhere remote, take a ton of pills, and then slice up my arms and my throat if I had it in me. I didn't want my family or my roommates to find me, and my car was a piece of shit so no loss there. I hadn't set a date, but I outlined a note and something I hoped would count as a will. I was waiting for a time where my roommates would be out of the house long enough to not notice I was missing, so I'd be sure to die before anyone found me.

One night, only a few days into this awful countdown, I had a dream with Duke in it. He was lying next to me on my bed, alive, though I knew very well he was dead. Even in death, he knew I was hurting and he came to help me, at a time when people in my life, who were alive and well, couldn't help me. I woke up and realized how little money and material goods meant to me, that my constant stress was over shit that didn't really matter. I stopped planning out my suicide.

The OP pic is the last image I have of Duke. He's sick in this picture, but he still liked to lay on the front lawn in the sun.

I haven't been able to say all this to anyone still, but just typing this up has made me realize how important Duke was to me. Thanks for listening /an/.

So we have a sick cat on our hands and not even the vet knows what's wrong with him.
Symptoms:
>Fluid in the lungs
>Heavy breathing
>Sleeping all day
>Can barely stand up and move around
This all started seemingly overnight. What's wrong?

Take it to another vet for a second opinion. Your vet might just be shit if it can't even help you out with your cat's symptoms.

Try giving it some antifreeze. I had a cat with fluid in her lungs and the antifreeze works to dissolve it.

Anyone here willing to refute this?

My pug got killed by a dodge ram today who hit him. He didn't bleed (except a bit from the nose). He died after a few minutes in my fathers arm. Do you know anything about if pain have lots of pain in those moments? Also saddest day of my life
20 posts and 6 images submitted.
>>
Sorry to hear about that OP, it's never a good day when a loved pet leaves us, especially in such a manner.

However, you'll do no good in wondering if he was in pain during his final moments, you're only going to think morbid thoughts and get upset. Don't associate his memory with things like that.

The important part is that you loved this dog and from that I can assume that the dog led a happy life himself, which is great.

He had a happy life with an unfortunate end but he isn't in pain anymore, that was fleeting really.
>>
>>2266619
In my honest opinion, your Pug's death probably prevented it from living a life of constant pain. It is better off dead. I own a dodge ram and I go around gunning down pugs to prevent their pained lives. If you don't buy a pound dog now I will come to your house and keep running over your pugs until you do!
Sincerely,
Robert
