I'm having difficulties with an extremely complicated situation. Basically, a friend of mine stopped talking to me after we had sex, which she immediately regretted (I knew I was essentially a cock-proxy, but went along with it because I am attracted to her). Afterward, she became increasingly hostile toward me when we were with others, and explained to a couple of my other friends that I was "in love with" her. After confronting her about this in order to explain that I'm completely capable of maintaining a friendship with physical components without being "in love," as well as the intolerable levels of verbal abuse, she said that I was emotionally retarded, and that she didn't want to talk to me anymore. I haven't spoken to her since (it was three days ago), and I don't really know how to respond, or even if I should respond. I've never really had to deal with a friendship becoming sexual and then ending before, and I don't like the idea of allowing it to end like this... I don't even know what kind of advice I'm looking for, maybe just similar situations and how you have coped with them?

Morning all. So I've been dating this girl for a while and she wanted a break for a while, it's been two weeks now so I've been questioning her in regards of her feelings and what's going on. She said she's undecided yet and said she always can't come to conclusions and needs someone to take matters into hands - so I didnt know this, she seemed not rather strict and straight forward so I always went with common courtesy when asking her out a.i. if she has time, is it possible etc.
I dont have any problems with taking control and calling the shots, I just want to see if anyones been in a similiar position or has any words of wisdom.
I'm planning to call her and tell her, that since Shen want someone to take matters in their own hands, then I'll be ending the pause and will ask her to come to an event on the weekend, book a place overnight and all.
So yeah, rant over, thoughts.

Hey, /adv/. I'm considering enlisting into the Navy or AF. My only notable skill would probably be my knowledge with computers whether it has to do with hardware or software and I plan on learning to program. I did all 4 years of JROTC in high school so I'll be given E-3 in the Navy or AF upon enlistment. I also might end up attending college while I'm in the service. Anyways, I have some questions that I hope some of you can answer.

The US military is running cyber systems as a weird, joint-command kind of deal and everyone has their toes in it. You wont get an enlistment bonus w/ the AF for cyber jobs. You WILL get re-enlistment bonuses because the AF wants to keep you. College is easy for both services, everyone does some form of online degree and it's not that hard. I've been in 12 years and i'm damn near done with a Masters.

No, in fact it's all too fucking easy, especially when you're in your job school ("Tech School" for the AF..."A-School" for the Navy). It's hard to have a long-term relationship early on, because you'll be getting moved between training bases & duty locations, but once your established somewhere it's very possibly. You just have to put in the TIME and the EFFORT.
I'm a loadmaster, been flying around the world for almost 13 years now, and I've been married through all of them. My schedule is completely screwy and it's hard to plan big events when I can leave the country on 12-hours notice. But we've made it work, with 2 kids in school, both of us in college, all while I fly around the world...so yeah it's very possible.

Be prepared to compete with people for promotion if you make this a career. And I don't mean in a good way. The AF is focusing on a "whole person" concept in determining how ready a person is for the next rank. What does that mean exactly?
Well, you can't just be good at your job. You also have to show active leadership at all levels in the chain of command. If you want to move up the ranks fast you have to essentially...ignore your primary fucking job and get your name/face out there to the people who "matter". Run the Squadron BBQ, President of the Airman's Council, organized the Wing Fun Run...or some shit like that. Essentially do all the things that make you LOOK GOOD on paper...while ignoring the whole reason you joined the AF in the first place.

19y/o girl here wanting to join the RAN. Weight 80kg, can do 30 push-ups but women only need to do 6 to get in LMAO, run 8km, 8.1 on shuttle run -
Basically I exceed female and male standards of entry but I'm unsure of entering because of the huge focus on women and desperation to get as many in as possible. the idea that my accomplishments will be ignored because "I must of only got it because I was a woman" is understandable but extremely frustrating. The women I talk with who are in the navy are often tiny or overweight, however the roles they do are usually technical - but in the case of the ship sinking can I really count on these types of women being able to keep myself or anyone else afloat?
Aside from that there's also their personality - they wear full on make-up and don't put their hair in buns (Make-up not being allowed but buns and hair nets were requirement when I was in Navy Cadets for workplace health and safety reasons) and are quite flirty
one of them was involved in an incident where she was "good mates" with a male coworker, he hit her ass to hurry her on and she got him dishonourly discharged on account of sexual harrasment - "good mates" ...
TL;DR - anyone have any experiences or heard of any relating to women in defence? I'm determined to enter nonetheless but will struggle with respecting other women as men will probably struggle with respecting me so any tips would be appreciated

Hey there, engineering student. Had a roommate this year who tried to make my life impossible by blasting music at 4am in the morning for a month until I had to move to another flat. He was studying to become a police officer but completely failed the exam (yearly exam) for the second time. He's 19, like me, but has no education other than a high school basic diploma. Despite asking him several times to lower the music and play it at another time, he refused, told me to "man up" and said "you just aren't a real man and don't scare me enough, I don't care that you have to study". He was physically superior than me and was also always next to his colleague who is a gym rat, I guess that's why he did that. Yes, I know I should have called the police, but I had just entered college at 18 and didn't even know you could call the police for that. Only after leaving the flat did I find that out.
I am now in a flat I like and with educated and normal people and have a happy life. Despite that, I still look back at these months and feel really angry at how this guy treated me.
He has failed his yearly exam and is miles away from reaching a spot in the national police department (passing is a requisite, but there are many more conditions to get a spot). He has lost two years of his life from that.
I was able to know his mark because I have his data from the day we made the contract, and the document with the marks is freely published by the government.
What kind of message should I send to him that would make him the most angry? I bet he's already fucked up because to be honest, but since he's such a bad person I'd like him to know what being laughed at feels like, just like he did with me several months ago.
I have thought of a photo of his terrible mark captioned with laughs, but there's probably something that works better.

alright so things are about to unfold I mean shit is about to hit the fan! my whole life everyone has thought I was an autard and their presumptions were confirmed after I got a brain disease that began to amplify my autism 2 years ago as much as I cried for help they just sought explanations in the autism literature. now that my autism has reached critical levels of amplification via simian levels of neuron loss they have started to listen and the tests have been coming back positive... I don't know what to do I have been waiting for this moment for over 2 years when I got a brain disease I was a young lad of 16 years, I have spent so long with brain disease that I don't know what to expect when everyone discovers whats really going on they may find out my premorbid IQ and its very strange...any advice for this situation?
everyone will be in eternal guilt for giving me brain damage and I will live with eternal regrets about what could have been without brain damage.....
