Post games that aged extremely well
Bonus points for games that were previously considered inferior.
Pic very related. I still remember the times when everybody shat on Final Fantasy IX while now it's considered the best ever by many.
I always loved this game btw so maybe I'm not being very impartial.
>>3882960
Pic not related.
honestly probably holds up better than it's remake

You just had to pick the most linear FF game of all time.
>now it's considered the best ever by many.
Pretty sure you're in the minority here, OP.
Post bootlegs. Also it might be fun to make your own bootleg cart stickers in paint and post them

Is he from Super Mario RPG?
>>3882848
You bet he is.
>>3882842
I was absolutely certain that he would occupy that blank spot on the character switch screen, but nope. If only he could breathe air.
Playing A Link To The Past for the second time.
The first time i dropped it at the dark world.
I'm now 4 dungeons into the dark world and still haven't found that piece of shit smith brother.
Getting 2 hearts down every hit.
Only getting by thanks to savescuming.
I fucking searched every millimeter of the normal world but didn't find him!
The first time i found him by mistake.
Am I stupid?
>>3882639
>savescuming
If you mean save warping back to a safe area on an actual console, you're fine. If you mean using a save state every two seconds on an emulator, kill yourself. A Link To The Past isn't even hard, and emulating isn't true retro gaming.
>>3882650
The latter.
>>3882639
I legit finished ALTTP in 2.5 days and that was 12 years ago. Yes, you are stupid.
Strikes 1945 is just not very fair at all. Not even with unlimited bombs on. It's just way too hard trying to get all of the gold medals for all of the levels and get these nude portraits legit. They're awfully nice nude portraits but, man, ya' might as well play another, better Psikyo game. Like Gunbird.
What's the requirement for the nude portraits, I thought you only had to 1all.
>>3882191
>Like Gunbird.
Gunbird is a strikers reskin with gay anime characters.
>>3882192
NOPE. You gotta get gold medals, as shown via the results screen after every level. If it was just 1all that'd be soooo much easier.
By the way, these two are the best nude portraits out of the bunch, hands down.
>>3882193
I find it much more fair and fun. The dialogue inbetween levels is amusing too. I guess Gunbird 2's superior though.

Hey /vr/, just got a Super Famicom and plan on getting a Famicom sometime soon. I don't wanna fry them, so are there any simple power supplies I can use instead of OEM parts? I've heard of people using Jaguar power supplies and debates over what the consoles will accept. Should a Jaguar adapter work fine for a Famicom/SFC? I've also heard model 1 genesis ac adapters work.
In North America? SNES power supply modified with the barrel connector from an NES power supply will give you the exact output in the right size.
If you are in the US, you can just use the standard Famicom ones.
>>3881742
>I don't wanna fry them, so I want to use a PSU other than the ones designed to work with them.
Not the brightest tool in the shed. Anything that gives the same output will do. Genesis or Jaguar will be fine.
Which of these games is the best? I'm a huge Nintendo fanboy and I'm looking to start collecting lesser known Nintendo puzzle games. Preferably games featuring Nintendo characters, like these.
Dr. Mario > Wario's Woods > Yoshi
>>3881704
> Lesser known
> with Nintendo mascots
...pick one...
>>3881715
You know what I mean. Outside of the retro gaming community, they're not exactly classics. Most casual/modern players have never played or heard of Wario's Woods, and they probably only know about Dr. Mario because of Smash.
What if Metroid was a girl?
What if /v/ never posted here?
>>3881695
/vr/ would implode on it's own autism
What if Donkey was a Monkey?
So my score isn't registered after I clear a path in this game. Is it normal? why would they show the path's score on the bottom right corner of the screen when choosing your path then?
What gives ?
No battery backup.
>>3881593
is there a solution?

Planescape Torment was released in 1999, so it fits in this board (thankfully).
I installed all the shit to run it in high resolution, fixed the bugs, etc
I have tried playing this game many times but never could pass the city. This time I will try harder since I am playing just to understand when I'll play Torment.
Do you guys have any recommendations how I should play the game to go to the ending as fast as possible and what stats should I use when starting?
Thanks a lot.
>>3881338
>Do you guys have any recommendations how I should play the game
Torment is essentially an adventure game that was curiously developed using the Infinity Engine. i.e. It's a non-action game that uses an action RPG game engine. So yeah. If you treat the game like a talking simulator, you'll probably start to make progress.
Also, I thought Torment was grossly overrated. The writing is honestly shit. I spent so much time cringing during the encounter with the Nameless One's clingy ex-girlfriend that I put the game down and haven't picked it up since.
>>3881368
I guess thanks. Yes the guides I have read recommend high WIS, INT and even CHA.
I played the game many times but always left it when you got to the city. This time even if I have to read a guide I will pass it.
I love the design and detail of the game though.

Wanted to like Rage Racer more, but my car is still stalling on exits for no reason and a portion of the cars are locked to MT only, wtf.
I pretty much cleared Ridge Racer DS (64) and it is the shittiest, dumbest, and hardest game by far. I'm almost convinced the DS version is harder than 64.
1 and Revolution are underappreciated and totally a different game after you activate NeGcon mode.
ITT: Post fun but challenging and easily replayable retro games
>>3881219
I'll throw something less common out there. But challenging retro games weren't exactly an uncommon phenomenon.
What was the best Shield in Sonic 3? Sonic's Instashield is also allowed. It's worth noting that all the shields block enemy attacks.
Mine (From best to worst):
>Lightning Shield (The magnet effect and the double jump makes this item pretty overkill)
>Bubble Shield (Infinite breathing in water is great, even when i dont drown in Sonic 3 that often.)
>Instashield (I don't use it that often, but it can be useful for blocking enemy attacks or hit bosses)
>Fire Shield (All it really does is give you some speed which makes some platforming sections much trickier and it dies in water, along with the Lightning Shield)
defo lightening
>>3881058
Lightning, because it was the only one to provide any utility once you got Supersonic by the second level.
Fire Shield makes you invulnerable to lava and fire, too bad there aren't many places to take advantage of it though. Good for Lava Reef at least.
