What was the bigger kiss of death for Dreamcast: Piracy or PS2-Hype?
PS2 hype.
>>3875475
Neither. Sega as a company was a sinking ship at the time regardless of how well the console did.
By the time people found out how easy it was to pirate DC games, the system was already on the way out. The PS2 was undoubtedly the main factor.
Anyone else a fan of this game? Its really under rated imo, never see it mentioned and its actually a really good game. Man that fucking music though is amazing.
I've always heard positive things from people who owned it but never got around to playing it myself. Might give it a shot, there always seems to be copies around.
because it's impossible to play while you're stoned
This game was Fucking Rad on PC. Had colored lighting, six degrees of freedom, an actual art style for an early polygonal game, it was awesome.
So awesome that I bought it for PSX and bought one of those SpaceOrb 360 controllers from GameStop on clearance. It was... Not good. Man I wish I still had that controller, that thing has got to be worth something now.
Last I checked Forsaken was a free download somewhere and like one of the devs actually did sort of a fan full conversion to bring it up to modern OSs.
Just got one of these today for $8. What do with it?
>>3874829
Play some games on it.
>>3874829
Play it babydick
>>3874829
Make a lamp out of it and sell it on Etsy
Can Ghouls 'n' Ghosts be considered a run and gun game?
what about super mario?
>>3874657
mario is a hop 'n bop
Thoughts?
Even though I'm generally a hater, with the state of N64 emulation I gotta give the Everdrive a thumbs up.
>>3874373
what does this even mean?
>>3874373
>Even though I'm generally a hater
Why would you hate everdrives? Outside the SNES ones they all have 99% compatibly, and snes emulation is accurate enough for me to never need to buy one of those anyway.
Super Nintendo stuff is ridiculously expensive right now. Should I sell all my SNES games and buy a flashcart?
They're unlikely to ever go down in price so there's no huge rush. I've personally been selling Magic cards when I want to pay for a family vacation or an 80s car I want pops up since unlike game repros, Magic reprints completely tank the value of originals.
>>3874095
>mfw I sold all my Saturn games and used the money to buy a pinball table with cash left over.
Worth it.
>>3874095
>Should I sell all my SNES games and buy a flashcart?
I don't really see the point in this. Even the best Flash carts have compatibility issues with some of the games released near the end of the console's lifespan, like Kirby's Dream Land 3 and maybe Yoshi's Island. These are awesome games that shouldn't be missed out on.
If you're not insistent on owning original hardware, then sell everything, invest in a cheap emulation device like a Pi, and keep your leftover earnings for something else.
Can we have a Blood Omen thread?
Soul Reaver 1 friends are welcome too.
SR2 and later fags need not apply.
>>3873759
You want to have a thread exclusively discussing the worst game in the series?
>>3873774
You misspelled "best". SR1 is slightly below just because it's unfinished. Everything else is garbo.

You should really clean up your room anon... maybe put up some shelves for your games. Nice collection of controllers though

Here is your (you) friend! Take it back to /v/ and show them with pride how you masterfully baited the losers that post here.
Does anyone else think that Dracula X (SNES) was a better game than Rondo of Blood?
As a straightforward, hard as fuck tribute to the original Castlevania, I find it much enjoyable to replay.
No.
>>3873073
It's damn good but I still like the casual Castlevania IV better.
fuck no.
LISTEN!
Cute as fuck.
Is there a picture of Navi's voice actress?

What gave it such a Dragon Quest feel?
On the first playthrough, the difficulty scaling was just right, probably perfect. They really thought it through.
Then, just like in some DQ games, once you know some of the best class/ability combinations, everything's easy street after that.
It didn't? It was nothing like Dragon Quest, at least no more so than all turn-based JRPGs since they're all essentially the same...
There are dragons......
This game got a translation recently, has anyone played it? Is it any good?
People here don't play translations.
They only cry that some game they know nothing about isn't translated.
>>3872774
Is this game good or turnbased?
>>3873123
and than there's the even bigger faggots like you that cry over people crying
Anyone remember Lagoon?
I remember it being really good but I was really young.
>>3872602
Shame you didn't have mana instead.
>>3872607
Was lagoon just a pile of shit? I watched my older cousin play it when I was pretty young an i remember it being cool.
>>3872602
Good music but the battle system was wonky. People complain about the toothpick sword.
But really, it had some fabulous music.

Just got a mega everdrive. It supports master system games in addition to genesis. I honestly dont think I've ever even seen a master system in real life.
Can I get a quick rundown on what's worth playing on it?
I am one of the few people who had a friend with a master system and it was pretty surreal. This was in the mid 90's and we would sometimes play it when we were bored with SNES and Genesis.
The only games I can personally remember that were worth playing were the Wonder Boy series and Choplifter.
Phantasy Star is the best SMS game imo.
>>3872528
That's pretty awesome. I never knew anyone with anything too out of the ordinary. I don't think I ever even knew anyone with a saturn back when it was relevant
Which was better?
2097 had great tracks, but too few of them. Also the lack of analog stick sucks so I prefer Wip3out
>>3872134
I'd say 3 in about every way except the tracks and difficulty curve. The tracks are still good but kind of samey, and the difficulty of them is all over the place. Terminal is simply leagues behind Spilskinanke in terms of design, aesthetics, and difficulty. Meanwhile the hardest track in the game is the 6th one.
However the physics were never better, the music just as good, and ships didn't function simply as a "select your difficulty" kind of thing, each one having a playstyle beyond "controls worse and goes faster than the last"
They are both GOAT though.
>>3872161
2097 supports analog steering on PS1 and PC, just not a Dualshock.
