Feels kinda bad to be kicked out of the group you started because you wouldn't retcon the setting you'd crafted for years just so someone's GF could play a ladyknight in an all male order.

I'm really at my happiest in a game when shit is going to hell all around us and the team pulls together to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

This also happens almost every session in the fucking airship D&D campaign I'm in and its glorious. The amount of times are ship has been boarded or almost gone down and everything looked bleak for us to pull out a win by the skin of our teeth . . . glorious.

I want to hear some stories /tg/. And also I want to know what your opinion is of running an airship campaign with pathfinder rules.

Sup /tg/,

Can I get some recommendations for role playing systems that allow for deep, tactical combat? I'm thinking something comparable to a skirmish wargame except on a single-character RPG scale, with more options per character to make up for the fact that everyone only has one dude. A sci-fi setting would be preferred, but not necessary since I can always do some refluffing and houseruling to make it fit. I'm mostly just looking for a system that has combat with a decent level of tactical complexity which I can modify for a game I'm planning.

If the system has solid non-combat rules as well that'd be nice, but that's strictly optional for my purposes.

Picture not related.

My time has come!

Unless you want simulationist stuff, in case, shit, I don't know, Ops and tactics?
>>
>>53779072
I don't really care about simulationist vs gamist, as long as it has some decent depth to it and is actually fun to play.

If I had to choose one I'm probably leaning more towards the gamist side of things.
>>
>>53779096
Strike! it is then.

The only hurdle I can think of is it being class based, but it could be hand waved as equipment loadout in a futuristic setting easily.

Hello, I am making a homebrew race for some heavily-homebrewed minor system with my friends. The setting is heavy on sci-fi, magic and likely divine so there's room for a lot of things even though there's a distinct 40k/D&D flavor permeating the surface layer.

Anyway, I need help for some of the fluff of a race of stick figures. Yes, that's right, those noddlemen you see in ye olde flash animations from way back when. I've gotten the base concept down, they're basically humanity's attempt at joining the "has made a sentient race" bandwagon. They have very compressed, simplified physiologies and possess a lot of physical diversity (in contrast to the human's having cultural diversity). Appearances could range from basic cannon fodder black stickmen to DeviantArt pseudo-humans with colored hair and facial expressions. Roles range from target practice and cannon fodder to cheap artificial celebrities and mascots.

I wonder what else I can add to the basic notes so far, and I cannot come up with a name for them. I can't just call them Stick Figures, after all.

>>53778875
Figure out how they interact with other races and presumably the vast reaches of space. Maybe their perception of Humans...assuming it isnt preprogrammed.

As for name, dunno...Cierans? Cier is the setting of RHG's spiritual successor. Maybe you might be interested in that?
>>
>>53779505
I'll think about this. On the topic of perception and mental faculties, should I give them uniform aptitude or a "depends on the creation" thing?

Cierans sound interesting, I'll wait for further suggestions.
>>
>>53778875
Firstly, you should calculate their anal circumferance modifiers based on their racial traits. Then we scoot on over to the ever important Pube Tint spectrum for the race

As you all know, a global campaign is going happen in the following months set in one of the systems of the Ultramar realm. It's primarily about Chaos vs Imperium as only the Imperium or Chaos get to win this campaign. Xenos faction cannot have their own victory. This is bullshit however the Xenos war efforts get to influence which side gets the advantage and who would ultimately win either Chaos or the Imperium.

So Xenos players gather up and lets discuss which side you want to win. Which side will be worthy of having your support. Imperium or Chaos?

Note : Imperial and Chaos player need not apply. This is a Xenos player safe place.

Either lay down the law or learn to love the quirks of your players. He's doing the right thing by running it by you first instead of just moving ahead without your blessing; the least you owe them is an answer one way or another.

That or run with a different group.

If your players approach you with plans to make gunpowder and early firearms, with the possibility to upgrade to modern firearms as the game continues, you have NO right to refuse them. Now, I know what you're going to say:

>B-b-b-but muh balance
>B-b-b-but mud medieval fantasy
>B-b-b-but mommy, loud noises make me scared

Shut up. You shouldn't be DMing. Your players are trying to make something interesting out of your generic, elf-loving fantasy, and you're throwing it back in their faces. You have NO right to be DMing - just give your notes to one of your players, they can do a better job than you can.

TL/DR, if you can't handle guns in fantasy settings, you shouldn't be a DM.

Hey, that's a nice pasta.
>>
>>53778627
Creation of plan to make gunpowder weapons requires metagaming as in standard medieval fantasy setting no.3 there is no required pre knowledge of chemistry and probably metallurgy to make it happen.

So it could be baned on grounds of metagaming, as PC character would not try to "accidentally" mix ingredients of gunpowder, especially if he is a stark raving mad barbarian.

And I claim that OP's post is a bait.
>>
>>53778627
I hope you're not the guy who goes:

>I'mma make a smart character who invents gunpowder and starts manufacturing guns. What do you mean the gun doesn't kill the dragon with one shot? If a sword can pierce its belly, so can a fucking gun. What, magical properties of swords, legendary strength? I HAVE GOT A GUN. BANG IT DIES

I hope, because that's dumb. When people can have legendary strength to cleave through several enemies with a vorpal sword and swirl magic into fiery balls of death, guns could become a thing for the infantry, but you don't play as the infantry. And a gun isn't gonna do shit to the guy who can withstand dragonfire.

No one said evil cannot be sympathetic after all.

I need some ideas on Rogue Trader entourage member. An ork.

But he is no ordinary ork. He is the Connoisseur of War. Here is the gist of it:

-High class of speaking, with typical ork quirks
-Got bored with classic WAAAGH of these days, and acquired high standards of fighting "No less than a zogging lot, if I am to indulge meself in da fight"
-Looks back at WAAAGH the Beast as "Good, times to be had" and Armageddon is a "Nice try, but lacks da spirit, and greater plan in my opinion"
-When he does fight, he mocks in true english fassion everyone present "Learn da proppa choppa technique, before you stand against me! Has da name of Warboss Le Fontierre "da Fencer", ring any bell ya git?! Who taught you power claw fightin', some grotz, or did your dignity didn't reach dat high a level, to ask dem yet?"
-Reads and writes orky poesy "SHUD I COMPARE THEE TO A DAKKA? THOU IZ MORE LOUDLY AND MORE SLUGGA"
-Wears pikelhaub and cyber monocle, that is also dakka gauge, though it has only two settings "NOT ENUFF" and "ENUFF" with "NEVER" scraped next to it.
-The best citation for him so far is this one "Dear governor-general, I am impressed by yer strategic cunnin' and eristic acumen, however I would like to point out, dat by claiming yer army haz "enuff dakka", as ye said so yerself, ye proved to be a rudimentary grot dat hazn't seen a WAAAGH in hiz life"

So... any ideas for background, or something?

I like this character.

Why not essplain why he got the way he did?

If he's old enough to remember the Beast (assuming that comment wasn't just based on his knowledge of history) maybe he could be one of the "Ork Diplomats" of that era. The other option is to just give him a brainboy finking cap, perhaps disguised as a top hat

One of the sugestions was that he got hit/shot/blasted by psionics in the head and a dok implanted looted cogitator in his head. That makes him comprehend strategy and human language. Also, I don't know how to handle his "heritage", can an ork be 8k+ years old?

Well I'm guessing you'll be starting off in the empire. It's basically city states that are all based off European cultures in the approximately 15th to 18th century.

The realms are united by the Emperor Karl Franz who is the ruler of all the empire. You will face threats from orks and beastmen regularly and more sinister creatures such as skaven and chaos agents lurk in the underhives of cities.

How much would you pay for a 3d printed WarHound Titan?

I'm currently part way through printing a Lucious Pattern WarHound Titan for a new client.
I'm not a /tg/ fan and have absolutely no idea how to price this project.
So far i'm at around 118 hours into printing time because i;m printing this extremely slow at the best quality settings on my printer.

I also intend to tip the original designer around 25% of whatever profit i earn from this and any future prints of this design.

so yeah, if you wanted a WarHound kit 3d printed, how much would you be willing to pay?

Pricing of any retail product needs to take into account development and manufacture costs.
However much you're compensating your designer, your take needs to at least cover the cost of the time and material expended on your print, and still provide you with a profit.

The Warhound Titan currently retails for £280, plus £42 per weapon system. So, your price can't exceed £364 unless you're offering a significantly better product than the real thing - greater detail, lighter weight, easier assembly, whatever. Based on the photos you've posted, you aren't there, yet.

Try posting this thread again when you have more to show than the basic geometry of the torso.
>>
Wait, so you started working on this without settling on a price?

Because what you deserve and what someone would be willing to pay for that (significantly less than ForgeWorld prices) are hugely different sums.
