So /tg/ you know the stereotypical wizard. Robes, pointy hats, casts magic with the power of books and long winded magical chants. Those are word-based magic systems.
What about object-based magic systems? Where magic is infused into objects when they're created or later on to make them magical. How would you go about making and fluffing a system like this? All I've got is "Wizards are now all artificers" and "Casting heal" becomes "Throwing them a healing charm"
Final Fantasy 7 worked like that. Magic worked with Balls of condensed mana latched to other objects.
The blacksmith who made the sword is also a wizard who hammered magic into the sword, which is why it's enchanted. The "Get sword enchanted by wizard" step is unnecessary because of it
>>53801256
Do the Morrowind thing where you basically store magic in some kind of item or wearable piece of clothing, and then just have them use that as magic

What would you be like if one of your DnD 'attributes' was at 40+? Be it intelligence, charisma, strength, etc.
the fate/zero doesn't have an SP limit is there?
>>53799002
A limit? You mean in how much you can convert?
What is it about YGO that is so attractive to black players and how come other trading card games, specially MTG, don't have it?
>>53798829
Anime and popularity. For some reason black people are more likely to become weebs, and since Yu-Gi-Oh is popular they tend to go there first.
>>53798849
>black people
>weebs
Never in my life have i met a black weeb
But maybe that's because in my whole life i have met only 2 blacks that weren't trying to sell me a lighter or asking for some change
>>53798849
I don't that that it's more likely for black people to become weebs, just that it's more culturally noticeable.
If a white guy is a weeb they can still mostly blend in by hiding their powerlevel, maybe wearing a bit of merch or owning a boxed toy or something.
If a black guy is a weeb, because of how quickly your business gets out in a lot of black communities, EVERYONE will know that you're that weird dude that likes anime. It's harder to hide and therefor easier to just embrace and let it absorb you.
Not to mention most people will notice a black guy in a crowd of white people pretty easy, same as if you saw a white guy playing spades at the cookout.
As promised.

Magic tapeworms.
They can be huge. They can run the full lenght of the bowels.
They use psychic powers to communicate with their hosts, trying to get them to do their bidding. They can't control minds but most hosts fear being butchered or locked up if they are found to be carriers - this is likely to happen as most tapeworms would rather blow themselves, their hosts and all nearby enemies than being removed.
They can cast illusion spells that come out as farts.
Hosts tend to become very skinny over time, almost Lich-like.
Thoughts?
>>53798142
What is the lifecycle of a magic tapeworm? What does a magical tapeworm want in life?
>>53798167
For starters, it wants to find it's way into a healthy host, feed, grow and poop out eggs into a source of water where it's babies can themselves find their own ways into healthy hosts.
But mature tapeworms, once they develop mind-reading capabilities, can develop personalities by exposure to the sensations of their host. They tend to be more selfish than their hosts because they don't really need to empathise with their hosts specie. There's just not that much evolutionary pressure for them to be very pro-social. But being persuasive and able to cooperate comes in handy and they might even become ambitious enough to have to live the high-life vicariously through their host and try to get their babies inside important people.
hey, /lit/izen here,
playing d&d for the first time later. suggestions for building and playing pic
Start asap, as a first time player familiarity with the system rules will help the game run smoothly. Pick a concept before a class but bear in mind that you will want to create a character with a certain wanderlust. Lean into the game rather than resisting it.
>inb4 don't play d&d

hegel? wizard?
>>53797598
I'd build him as a Bard, make Oratory your main performance skill, that way you can preach philosophy to your allies and give them bonuses by doing so.

Terrible OP, why are they all such shitt y memelords?
Going to try out triple Eversor super fun time tonight. Wish me wryyyyyy.
Why did it never really take off? I didn't delve too deep into it yet, but it seems like it has all the ingredients for a fun, varied campaign setting.
Also, discuss campaign settings I guess.
>tfw you'll never play in an IW campaign with PCs as varied as the iconic characters off the Basic Set.
>>53797250
Because it's GURPS, and GURPS has never been hugely popular.
>>53797250
Too much effort for the GM.
You're already playing GURPS, and on top of that you're gonna throw the campaign between multiple universes!?
I have a question about Emperor Palpatine for the Star Wars buffs.
So the entire galaxy knew who Sheev Palpatine was. But was it common knowledge that Chancellor Palpatine became The Emperor? Or did nobody really know who he was?
>>53797154
>But was it common knowledge that Chancellor Palpatine became The Emperor
Yeah. He gave a giant televised speech about it to the senate.
>>53797167
They cheered him for it, too. I blame Jar Jar
>>53797301
All part of the plan.
>Invite girlfriend to our D&D group
>Group is surprisingly receptive to the idea
>After introducing her to the other players, the GM and the game, she decides she wants to make an elf
>Best friend looks me dead in the eyes
>Smirks
>He says he's going to play an orc
>While we're all making our characters he's making more and more jokes /pol/-tier jokes about orcs
>Eventually make a joke about his orc fucking my girlfriend's elf
>She laughs
>They actually fucking incorporate it into their backstories
>Now my girlfriend's elf has an orc fetish and fucked my best friend's orc
>Meanwhile I'm sitting here with my generic human wizard
I don't want to play anymore.
Piss off.
>getting cucked in D&D
you might as well off yourself
Can I play your girlfriend's character's half-orc son OP?
Normal humans have to work out to gain muscle. It doesn't just grow.
Naturally space marines are genetically engineered to be bigger and more muscular, but even among them, would a Space Marine that works out (a lot more) than a Space Marine that doesn't (a lot less) create an obvious difference? Or do they all get the same muscles regardless of how much or how little they work out.
There are variations in athletic ability between marines, yeah. Given the nature of their implants, the "bottom floor" of how unfit they can get is probably still way above peak, unaugmented human. Barring drastic stuff like starvation or grievous injuries of course.
The laziest, most unmotivated Marine neet in existence would still be superhumanly strong and tough, just probably not very effective at war-making.

>The laziest, most unmotivated Marine neet in existence would still be superhumanly strong and tough, just probably not very effective at war-making.
Or at least, not very effective compared to his brothers but still probably Rambo compared to us.
I'm mostly curious how he looks like lined up and shirtless next to his GAINS brother astartes.

Managed to snag the Plague Marines out of an early set of Dark Imperium. Loving this insert.
Loving the detail.

Have you ever played a shapeshifter or transformer? Maybe you had a character transformed or polymorphed? What are your hopes for Paizo's shifter class?

Olidammara. I've always been a real sucker for trickster gods, but what really sealed the deal was when a player of mine wanted to play as a serious Cleric of Olidammara after reading that he didn't have any dedicated churches or solid religion.
I decided to let him... but Olidammara decided to entertain himself with his devoted cleric and basically fuck with him whenever it wasn't life or death, using his loyalty to pull Shit like making his character glue his ass-cheeks together using Sovereign Glue.
