I hope, because that's dumb. When people can have legendary strength to cleave through several enemies with a vorpal sword and swirl magic into fiery balls of death, guns could become a thing for the infantry, but you don't play as the infantry. And a gun isn't gonna do shit to the guy who can withstand dragonfire.

If your players approach you with plans to make magic and early arcana, with the possibility to upgrade to modern magitek as the game continues, you have NO right to refuse them. Now, I know what you're going to say:

Shut up. You shouldn't be DMing. Your players are trying to make something interesting out of your generic, sword-loving fantasy, and you're throwing it back in their faces. You have NO right to be DMing - just give your notes to one of your players, they can do a better job than you can.

TL/DR, if you can't handle magic in fantasy settings, you shouldn't be a DM.

No rifling, long reload times, hard to find bullets. Why would anyone want to use a gun in a world where you can throw fucking fire out of your hands.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure we had the basic technology required for guns during the middle ages. It was the ammo that had to catch up, because it was rendered useless so easily and so difficult to load, and we other shit to cover the role of firearms while being less finicky in the field until then.

Seem to remember hearing they were pretty good in sieges or something though.
