In Changeling: The Lost, why is security in Arcadia so crappy that literally hundreds of slaves are able to escape back to Earth, enough to form entire societies?
>>54370611
Because it's Faery land, not near-future panopticon scifi.
>>54370611
Because humans are beyond comprehension for True Fae, that's why they can't create life and drag humans into their lair, which also means they can't trick them forever and will eventually loose grip on them.
>>54370611
Because the True Fae are whimsical, autistic, child-like god-things obsessed with whatever entertains them at the time.
Give a toddler with extreme ADHD a toy, then wait a week. The toddler cares roughly as much about that toy as one of the Gentry cares about a Changeling under their care. It's still their toy and of course they want it back if they realize it's missing, but it's ultimately not a big deal to them.

Well I need to calm down; what does your Jumper do to relax? Anything from eating favorite foods to deploying that spa resort you have (do we have a spa property purchasable? There should be.)
So, what did you guys do in Counter-Strike anyway? How did you make sure you'd get the rank requirement to move on?Post builds.

Webmage has a resort mansion on a hawaiin island complete with a house spirit that tries to make you happy.
- Casual, light-hearted, magical academy game
- Rules-light, easy to pick up system
- Only two PCs at most
- NOT Harry Potter
What system would /tg/ recommend?
Systems under consideration: Brightmore Academy, Eldritch High, Magic and Mischief.
Systems discounted: Fate, GURPS.

I haven't heard of these systems before, mind tell us a little about them?
>>54369939
GURPS but with different rules.
Sure I can use my midget angels of death as much as I want, but who will want that? They are but a support force now, running around in their tiny power armour and squat poses, carrying ammo for THE BIG BOYS. Not to mention the horror of facing some schmucks army of supersized marines with my hobbit astartes. Win or lose I will lose every time. Instead of messing with astartes size they could have diminished the ape like guardsmen that are supersized to begin with and make them krieg size.
The reason they cant change guardsmen size is it would make it more difficult to paint guardsmen.
>>54369719
Have anyone touched upon the fact that the chadmarines will cuck the chaos spacemarines in size aswell.
Their shouldn´t be any chaos primares?
>>54370318
They've more or less announced bigger Chaos dudes.
>"The Chaos Gods have not been idle – we guarantee there are some warp-charged hulking warriors on their way for you guys in the not too distant future."
Not sure how they'll justify all of this story-wise.
Can we expect big guys in every faction on the horizon?

What boards do you frequent aside from /tg/?
/an/ and /pol/ here.
Anyone manage to incorporate any /po/ stuff into TTRPG? Considering seeing if I can make some cute little papercraft animals to use as miniatures.
>>54368820
/po/ or /pol? I assume po from context. Paper craft minis are a thing you could do.
/vg/ and/trash/here.

wait, is it /pol/ or /po/?
For me it is /his/ and /ck/.
/vg/, /m/, /k/, /an/, and/u/. Naturally, I like hard-ish military sci-fi games, but I really want to play MAID sometime. I might even combine the two for extra fun.

are there class tiers like there were in 3.5 or is this game balanced enough so that no class is completely shit?

What are some concepts you've always wanted to try?
Personally i've always wanted to try a sort lady Hercules, or a character that flexes their problems into submission. Ripping chunks out of the environment to beat opponents into submission with.
Yeah, that sounds fun.
Played an oni woman in shadowrun who was so buff she could punch people so hard they exploded.
It was great.
Always wanted to play a full-body Cyborg
>>54367311
Shame that playing Hercules at all in an RPG is impossible. There's too much focus on balance and such now a days.
The point of such a character is to be legendarily physically strong. And it's hampered every step of the way by the realities of how RPGs work.
1) Character creation makes it impossible to be legendarily strong in nearly every system except Exalted, where Strength stat is not only a low impact stat (affects only a few skills and only damage mechanically), but it is less important than charms in nearly every situation.
2) Impossible to guarantee you won't have another strength based character in the group, rendering your concept flat by being just as strong as you are.
3) In most games, a physically strong enemy is usually significantly stronger than it is even possible to be, meaning you'll go from roleplaying a super strong guy to jobbing for the the first ogre.

M&M. I have a character that can caually heft 800ktons.
>2) Impossible to guarantee you won't have another strength based character in the group, rendering your concept flat by being just as strong as you are.
Talk to the rest of the group, fuckface. If you don't, you deserve to get overshadowed.
>3) In most games, a physically strong enemy is usually significantly stronger than it is even possible to be, meaning you'll go from roleplaying a super strong guy to jobbing for the the first ogre.
Again, M&M. And I don't want to hear no bitch tears about "B-but it's a supers game!". It's an effects based toolbox meaning you can reskin it as whatever the hell you want. It doesn't do gritty that well, but if you're going for this tier of power, you're not looking for gritty.
Here, someone even did 'conversion' stuff for ya.

So im going to start a new campaign GMing for 4 players that never played TTRPG before.
I will use Dungeon World because i think Its more dynamic and noob friendly, but i have a question about magic itens in the system.
How do i make them interesting, since weapons and armor stats are kinda irrelevant in this system?
Also, Any other tips regarding running a DW game are appreciated.
>>54366980
I'm sorry I can't be of any help, but I'll be monitoring this thread--I'm actually about to start a Dungeon World game for the first time as a player.
Also, would the pdf be available anywhere?
>>54366980
Weapon/armor stats are definitely not irrelevant; the tags should come in handy often.
I think the book has some example magic items in it. I distinctly remember a skull that changes the elemental properties of spells cast through it into fire, for example.

>Magic Item tips
Try to avoid giving them bonuses to rolls. Dungeon World is a very 'flat' game, a +1 is really powerful. Instead, I recommend having magic items give players new Moves while on their person. You can make them up yourself or you can 'steal' them from existing classes. There are a TON of Dungeon World classes online, search for them and you'll find some good ones.
Here's an example:
Flamebrand Sword: You may choose to deal fire damage with this weapon instead of physical. When you sweep the blade in front of you, roll +CHA. On a 10+, you deal your damage to all Close enemies. On a 7-9, you deal half damage. On a 6-, take an XP in addition to whatever the GM says. Each time you use this ability, you take a -1 to further uses until you Make Camp.
>General Tips
Here's some of what my group did with Dungeon World:
1) Level cap is raised to 20. At every even level (2, 4, 6...) you raise one attribute by 1. At every odd level (3, 5, 7...) you gain a new Move. Any Move that can be picked at level 6+ instead can be picked at level 11+. Any stuff that was based on your level is instead based on half your level.
2) Initiative is added to the system. It's a DEX or WIS check, whichever is higher for your character. Characters act in battle in order from highest to lowest. We just had monsters either act at the start of the round (if they were fast or had surprise), in the middle (if they were average), or at the end (if they were big, slow, or stupid).
3) Fate cards. The GM wrote up some cards that had various positive and occasionally negative effects. When a player followed their Drive/Alignment or met a Bond during the session, he handed out a Fate card to them instead of giving them XP. They could hold up to 3 at a time, and they were really useful for getting out of sticky situations (or getting into them).

A friend of mine with lots of expirience told me that most of the times couples cause problems at the table, and that runing for your partner turns out to be you making sure their PC is strong as fuck because they keep pestering you to do it and bribing you with all sort of means. What is your expirience guys? I really want to run a small campaign for my parter, because the partner is interested in RPG games and has played them alot.
>>54358102
My gaming group of 6 people contains 2 couples, we have been playing for years and never encountered this issue. Honestly no one who enjoys playing rpgs would want to pull this kind of bullshit in the first place, what's the point of a game where one player just gets free shit, from a player or GM perspective?
Also I apolagise for the following autism but:
