Have you ever thought about how the 'proof of work' is a cryptocurrency is just proof of entropy? A given newly-mined BitCoin, optimized a bit by competition, means a given amount of usable energy resources turned into waste heat.

Well my campaign's baddies have done the same thing writ large. Each verifiably destroyed unique intelligent species generates 1 GenoBuck. (Ordinary everyday transactions are in the billionths of a buck.) The baddies are now after humans for their economy's next buck. They're the first to lament how terrible the system is, but they're so far past scarcity they don't see any viable replacement.

OP here,
In the setting I'm writing I'm making a utopian capitalist society

Lots of other sci-fi societies have been covered but never capitalist utopia
>socialist utopia- Star Trek
>socialist distopia- any regime book ever
>capitalist distopia- cyberpunk

Has anyone made a society like this? How would a society like this function on a galactic scale?

A while back I saw a playable race posted in a thread from a sourcebook, the race was a worm gestalt, wore gloves and a mask, often traders, had a feat/innate skill which let them hide objects in their bodies. Similar to a pc version of "the worm that walks". I've been throwing booleans at google and can't turn it up. Anyone know the race in question? Thanks in advance.

What do you guys think would be the most dangerous Dire animal?

Not necessarily by D&D rules, but in general?

Also any other discussion of dire animals - any interesting ones you've used or wanted to use.
Part of the description for dire animals in general is a "prehistoric" appearance - can prehistoric animals be Dire too?, could you get Dire Dinos?

Well guys, I finally tilted out of my first game of EDH
>Playing vs Mono-U Galina and Darien
>Galina gets the die roll and plays Sol Ring
>They play Rhystic turn 2
>I delay my turns to play around it, Darien player lets him draw 2 cards on his turn
>I mention that this is dumb and ask that he plays around Study
>He tells me to chill, and while the Galina player has no blocks, he passes the turn with untapped guys
>Galina spends the next 4 turns playing land go and countering anything I play while the Darien player still hasn't attacked at all
Sometimes players are infuriating

Glorantha's in the process of being resuscitated. The system they're using is garbage, but getting new adventures for the first time since 1994 is really exciting.
>>
Change in roleplaying happens constantly but in very tiny increments, built on the backs of everything that came before, so it can be hard to recognize it or acknowledge it as being truly novel. And by the time something innovative starts to permeate and become accepted, it's generally no longer new by most objective senses of the word.

The "biggest" things tend to be new editions of already popular games or games from well-known designers, but paradoxically they generally tend to innovate less because more drastic changes run the risk of them losing market share to negative responses.

Some interesting things that are just starting to be explored and realized involve digital integration, from virtual tabletops to digitally-enhanced LARPs like Artemis Bridge Simulator or Viewscream.

(Inspired by the After The End mod for CK2)

Post-Apocalyptic settings are all the rage, but that shit's gay as fuck and is mostly just "yo I'm a survivalist eating beans out of cans."

ITT we talk about a truly apocalyptic setting where people have to literally rebuild their civilization -- worse than the collapse of the Roman Empire. It's been a few hundred years, some remnants of the Old World survived (like Mt. Rushmore) but they're seen as the remnants of Gods who came before. Myths of Old America have been passed down and warped over time. Castles, fortresses, and knightly battle cover eastern sea-board while competing hordes of "cowboys" and plainspeople roam the West.

In the old capitol, a cult has arisen, offering worship to a pantheon of Founders: Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton...

I was wondering do you guys play any roguelikes? Im asking specifically for roguelikes because these are the only true RPGs where you can be seriously anyone and really get absorbed in the atmosphere (something that modern AAA titles keep failing at)

Risk of rain and crypt of the necrodancer. The first one isn't /tg/ related indeed, the second one is the bardest game there is though
>>
>>54749897
yeah depends what roguelike. It can be something like FTL or isaac but also more basic fantasy stuff like DF, elona, adom, stone soup etc..
>>
>>54749813
I never could get into Nethack, but I do love me some Stone Soup when the devs aren't tearing out large sections of gameplay in the name of artistic vision.

Cataclysm is pretty fun, but the sheer lack of endgame makes that one a bit hard to really get into once you figure out the basics of how to survive.

They're just human aspect warriors.

In the pathway series they were horrified by the concept of marines as eldar need to wear the aspect mask in order to devote themselves to war and not lose themselves, while marines are always like that

I'm more interested in how they'd view the Custodes. Physically superior to anything in their size-range, such mental conditioning it's impossible for them to fall to Chaos, some of them may be over ten thousand years old.

I don't think he's going to win the Fraud charge, since it's based on "GW took heavy inspiration from these sources!!!". I'm willing to bet he'll lose that one on pretty much the same grounds that GW got smashed for Spots the Space Marine.

We all know that the american lawsystem is a joke an people sue each other for whatever amount they like, just because they hope to get an arrangement that avoids the accused party from negative press or long legal actions.

I agree, it´s just a fraud case.
>>
>>54748452
It'll be interesting though to see if he wins the other ones, specifically the ones about how GW deals with its third-party retailers.
Though if he did win those, I wouldn't put it past GW to just cut support to the third-parties and just focus on their private shops.
