Not a 40Kid, but tabletop simulator (or some other online component) might be your best bet. I can't really think of anywhere outside a GW or LGS that you'd be able to find other wargame players.

Half of 'The Hobby' is hobbying, half is playing. If you're not going to play, you need the creative desire to meticulously assemble, prime, paint and base tiny models. If you don't have that spark already, you're kidding yourself about 'getting into' the ttg aspect of 40k.

The damage soak as a balancing point annoys me as it makes me have to balance around the strongest combat character and respec enemies in the hotseat. I'm more likely to take the fluff and character options and convert them to something OSR.

My group only ran a few sessions of Symbaroum. We all enjoyed it, but found it really swingy in terms of how beholden you are to dice rolls. Some combats were a breeze because we were rolling well, some where more difficult than they should have been because we rolled shit.

How does Rarity works?
Serra angel was rare, until the powercreep grew so much that she became uncommon...
But then why is she an mythic in ths set?

Will GW ever reprint 1st Edition 40k again?
They did a reprint in 2016 but it was a limited run, so guess what, they go for even MORE money on eBay than the originals. What the fuck was the point? I really want to own one of these comfy books, but I can't afford to shell out $150 on a copy that's already falling apart.

Would a Chaos Ork be the most terrifying creature in the Warhammer 40k universe?

Open fire is worth the splash.
Manalith could be replaced with beneath the sands. Lose one mountain.
Cunning survivor is not great, but sandwalla is fine. It's won games for me.
Pouncing cheetah is not great. Better in control which you are not.
Gift of strength is a fine trick.
Naga Oracle is fine wall.

When I said new to limited I actually meant to say new to magic, sorry. As a result I don't know how to recognize any deck archetypes. I'm completely clueless as to what separates a midrange or control deck.

me and my friends used to play this shedding card game, where all cards in the deck are dealt plus one joker "bomb" card.
You pick a card randomly from the guy sitting to the left of you, then the guy sitting on your right picks from you. If you get pairs through picking cards, you put them down and make your hand smaller. First guy to clear out wins, and the guy who ends with the joker in his hand loses.
We called it bomb but I wanna know if it's actually based off a game or if we made it up

This sounds like a decent segment for a quest arc, and solving the affliction sounds like a great way to befriend a whole bunch of nobles.
Personally, I'd just try to restrain all the manbabies, ideally stick them on a loot wagon or something, and try to just minimize the extent to which they can screw things up.
