Why is it so rare to see a game that's just about enjoying life?
>>51722128
Because humans crave conflict and challenge.
Enjoying life is boring.
Probably cause it's difficult to do a story if everything's fine.
>>51722128
Nine in ten writers have eighth grade syndrome and are obsessed with dark and miserable worlds emphasizing the evil in humanity.
That, and I guess slice of life doesn't interest people - it's not actiony enough, or edgy enough. And it's not 'realistic'. It's pure, fluffy, and innocent, and no one likes that anymore. Sadly.

>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks. /hwg/ doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to very specific games, so this thread isn't tied to a game, or a genre, lets talk about fun wargames.
Any scale, any genre, any company, any minis. Skirmishers welcome. Rules designers welcome.

Mighty Armies, Dragon Rampant, Of Gods and Mortals, Frostgrave, Hordes of the Things, Songs of Blades and Heroes, Freebooter's Fate, Dark Age and anything that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread (gorkamundheim).

So what's the tax policy like in your setting?
Depends on the region.
Depends on the race, social status and monthly income.
Depends on municipal services.

Fuck off, Kristian, you pathetic attention whore.
What are some good systems for a good cyberpunk game? Been watching some different movies lately, particularly Total Recall, John Wick 1 and 2 (not particularly cyberpunk, but it's well themed and intense action) and the new trailer for Ghost in the Shell and it's been making me crave some of that action in RPG form.
From my understanding, and the one game I've played, Dark Heresy first edition is surprisingly good for making a gritty cyberpunk neo-noire campaign if set in a hive world.
I've heard Shadowrun is pretty good as well, but I haven't got my hands on a rulebook to read it over yet.
>>51707892
There is a Shadowrun general thread you can find. Ask for some basic tips and health, I remember stuff like not allowing Deckers for your first game.
*Important*
Shadowrun, while magic heavy, has lots of decent lore snippets. There's lots you can steal and blame the rest on CRISPR kiddies.
Cyberpunk 2020 I am not familiar with. A friend is running it and they seem to like it.

>How do you make cute young urchins in ragged clothes interesting PCs? Do they HAVE to be sneaky thieves and/or natural magicians? Is it too much to make them secretly royalty?
Last time I was GMing my players followed the story of a child through several hundred year old documents. My players were part of a mercenary force heading through an overgrown sapient jungle. Along the way old ruins dotted the landscape, and the players would stop to explore them. The first set had the following:
>journal of a kid who wanted to go to the big city
>bunch of normal reports in an office
>two letters from a church they couldn't translate
When they got them translated they learned the kid had been selected to go get trained in a bigger city up the road, the one they were heading to. When they got there they went through the old church there as well and found more information on him. They knew his name now, so they followed him. The next set of documents was about his education as a wandering exorcist along with cracking open his old room in the basement. Learned the kid had gone funny and started to hear voices, but was hiding it. They learned this through a box sealed with Arcane Lock that had been left there.
As the game continued they found out more information about the kid and who he was becoming. The players had been sent to recover an artifact from the ruins of the capital in the jungle, but were told to scrounge up anything they could find. Found out the kid had turned into something like a prophet. Eventually they found out the artifact they were going to retrieve was supposed to be his corpse and then found out the kid was in fact not dead and was living in the capital along. The sapient evil jungle was his doing and he lived as a lonely king there wracked with painful madness brought on by the voices.

Does building an Avant Guard to make her a Stand User count as natural magician?

Oh, so it's gonna be one of THOSE settings.

What? Never heard of establishment run by a happy couple?
You mean one where there are more than the core races and they're not constantly trying to kill each other?

Re-Requesting (At the artist's behest, there was a misunderstanding in the request) a klutz wizard. I will assume the drawfriends were the same person, it's been two days now.
Girl from the right (Include glasses) in fancy wizard robes (Turn the cloak into full robes) and a relatively large hat, carrying grimoires and falling over (Or something to similar effect). Some minor bruises and bandages for added effect. Image can be in any state of this, really, as long as the character is recognizable. It doesn't show much under the robes, but she is a little chubby
Background entirely optional, but a classic wizard library is naturally what I'm going for.
I would have a kind of simple, but little different request. Could someone draw me a plan of the camp based on text below? Nothing too fancy, but with nice style and touch. I would do that myself, but... eh, let's just say I'm more man of the words.
TEXT: Jester looked at the camp, nodding to himself. They did a great job building it. The camp itself was in shape of the hexagon, at least 25 meters wide from each site. At the point of each wall, there were watchtowers built, two with small ballistae that could be moved to other watchtowers without much effort. In the center of the camp, they kept their supplies - both food and ammunition - in a wooden hut, the most fortified place in the camp. While the men slept in tents, the supplies had to be kept dry and secure. At the other end of the camp, a little bit closer to the south, there was small so called “plaza” with a well in its center, where the men held their drill trainings and could play cards, cook and eat during their free time. The cook had his small hut nearby, close to the water supply. To the east side, just beyond the wall, was the ditch where the men relieved themselves. It was the side least likely of being attacked, and the men could easily squat on the battlements during a siege. Keeping the filth out of the camp was an important hygienic measure.
Cut yourself shaving?
