Is there a glut of streaming D&D and other Table Top Role Playing games online now or is it just beginning?

Wizards of the Coast is about to do some mega stream with a bunch of streamer groups called the Stream of Annihilation, where they also plan to announce what the next adventure hardcover they'll be releasing is, but its just a weekend long thing being done in June.

Do you guys want to see more proliferation of RPG streaming for other games via video or podcast?

What games do you think really deserve a stream that gets promoted enough or is good enough to garner some popularity or attention?

Is this but a passing fad?

I find I don't like the "high production value" ones. They always use the video mostly for facecams, which I'm not interest in and rarely show a map. And the tone and setting are largely too comedic, which makes it less engaging. I enjoy the low profile groups more, if the recording quality is watchable. Most systems that are not D&D could use more content.

I mean, Adrian makes a lot of sense to be there. He's from the city that the boat set out from, and is a language professor. One of the expedition's missions is to study the languages in Mwagni. He's also, from his character out, not very visually distinct.

Out of everyone Adrian on the surface has one of the most mundane reasons to be on the boat.

Hey /tg/, I've had some ideas towards designing a new tabletop system as a side project for myself.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what areas to start in because I don't know whether to start with the mechanics side, the numbers side for HP/damage or classes etc. If someone here has any experience then advice on the process would be appreciated.

I don't post on /tg/ really so bear with me.

First off, what's your premise?

Second off, do you want the rules to be concrete or abstract?

Finally, do you want the rules to be simple or complex?

Once you've answered these questions, start off with considering the best rolling method for resolving outcomes for that premise and then start adding rules to facilitate the sort of premise you want to create.

Side note: If you cannot describe your idea without directly or indirectly referencing D&D, drop what you're doing, play a couple of different RPGs (No, Pathfinder does not count.) and then come back.

Because the guys in charge of 5e are insane, they've decided to let YOU decide what the next 5e book is going to be. They're even letting you be in charge of it from start to finish, because you're probably just as good as anyone else, who knows, who cares, not them.

Rookie DM here, been playing about 5 months. This is my third time DM'ing a campaign.

How do I get better? I'm awkward when speaking for NPCs and sometimes can't think of anything good when forced to improvise. My players seem to be enjoying it but I know it's nothing amazing.

Put essential info of each character onto index cards; like saves, HP (So you know when you might wanna pull a punch), etc.
Then, rearrange those for initiative. Helps everything go much faster.

Also, practice. Seriously. The more the better.

It is vastly less important to speak in-character as an NPC than it is to communicate clearly. So honestly toss that sacred cow on the fire-- if you feel awkward and unimaginative when inhabiting an NPC's voice, ditch the voice and use exposition.

And practice out of the game. Find an improv group, have conversations with yourself in the car, that sorta thing. You will seem like a crazy person and it absotively will help.

Stop right there. You're doing a good job. Anyone can always do a better job, but if they're enjoying it you're doing something right. Remember that. Hold onto that. Your game will never be as cool as it is in your head but that doesn't mean you aren't giving joy to your players.

in game delivery, what holding you up? is it Dialogue? Combat? Quests?

i was very bad at NPC's and improv when i started out too, it takes quite awhile, what helped me the most was constantly saying that it wasn't good enough, no matter how much fun the players had. i wanted to keep going until it was as good as i could possibly get it, 3 years later I'm super happy and the players say the game spectacular.

for the NPC's just commit to a single personality if theyre a side character it makes it a lot easier to just respond and guide the players if all they have is 1 basic trait and a funny accent. sometimes you dont need an accent especially if you're not comfortable with voices yet.

that being said i always say no matter how bad you sound always commit to the character, you'll become more comfortable and after the first few times everyone will be used to voices. its only awkward and funny at first.

improv, that something you can improve with practice or taking a short class, thats always helpful.

my final tip of advice, never let it get to you, as long as everyone is having fun then just keep telling yourself that you're gonna get better. it only becomes more fun to GM when you get better.

Why can't people accept that Space Marines could get upgrades?

Considering the fact that the Imperium was always fucked from the get go no matter what, literally, every story would end with them either winning or losing but still fucked

It's a miracle and funny they managed to survive this long with what they had.

Now the galaxy is literally being raped, Deamon Primarchs are returning, Tyranids are still a thing, orks are still happily murdering shit, and Abby Dabby is on a warpath to Terra while worlds burn and fall everywhere on A million different fronts

If they were to even survive this at the point where they stand it'd be on the level of HFY meme garbage
