I had a giggle. Evil building monsters could be cool, but a building detective is like absurdist humor. I like it, run with it OP. Make it the most arbitrary terrible power ever.

If I remember correctly there was a guy in he original "The Authority" comics whose power was literally being the incarnatio of a living city or somehing.

It would work better than just turning into building.

I actually tried to make a character sheet fitting all of it somehow but the more I look at it, the stupider it feels.
It's the embodiment of "that guy" just waiting for the opporutnity to derrail every single thing the DM could come up with.

Like a sentient pseudo building that fights crime by becoming an ersatz version of of wherever the perp is trying to go, maybe kind of overlaying itself with the real place or possessing it some how to set the trap, could be pretty cool if really surreal idea.
