Was this hand held and you got tired holding up your "ultra light" mirror less camera 20 seconds into the video or were you just actually not sure if the fireworks should be in the frame while you were recording?
This is bullshit /p/, how is this guy getting those pictures? Have they been edited in post? I fucking absolutely love the colors in his images. How do I replicate this?

nothing minimalist in that picture, my literally visually illiterate friend.
/p/ I need a serious answer about something.
I've been seeing a influx of 'Pentax is doomed' posts both here and other places and I'm just wondering how much truth there is to that comment?
I currently own a Pentax camera and I've been happy with it, so much so that I was thinking of upgrading to a K70 / K3ii (which would be the better choice if I did go this route?), but now the seed of doubt has been planted in my mind and I'm thinking if I should just sell my current camera and buy a mirrorless. Some fuji shit maybe.
Is Pentax doomed? Are they fine? Shall I stick with them?

you see a lot of shit like this here, yet for example Canon just came out with a shitty 6D mark II that they KNOW is going to sell even though it's barely an improvement
Ricoh is doing just fine to keep Pentax afloat

The focus on dslr is photography, the focus on milcs is both photography and video. Many of us understand and will not deny this. That dslrs don't even offer a reasonable compromise of video and dslrs are also missing possibilities of optical viewfinders, makes them the market losers. It's the innovations for milcs in photography, which make them even more interesting. As I'm only consumer and no professional and I'm supposing so are you, we won't be even bothered with the few typical quirks and reproaches with milc compared to dslr photography.
It's certainly not a bad idea of conventional companies to offer dedicated devices for the professional market. However, without having more insight, I hardly believe that professionals are able to carry the conventional camera market.
Having said this, I'll buy Canons 6D2 at a price tag of 1300 bucks in used condition. First I don't want to spend more money on an upgrade or a system change, second because of my father and some friends which feel more comfortable with Canon. They also feel comfortable using their cameras in an unchanged manner for the last 10 years and more, regardless of new features and increased quality or dr.
Since I am not sure about my statements, I'd be happy if others joined the discussion.
English is not my first language. I've already deleted and corrected this post..

>I've been seeing a influx of 'Pentax is doomed' posts
/p/ doesn't really know it's arse from a hole in the wall, most of them refuse to look beyond their own self-obsessed bubble. If a company does something that they don't agree with or want to buy, said company is doomed.
Most of them just want feature crammed toys. Features like: I can put it in my pocket, I can shoot movies of the cat in 4k or I can shoot 20 frames per second with out shutter blackout ... How long is the shutter blacked out for when you are shooting 20 frames per second? Do you even notice it?
They are certainly not interested in a durable and reliable tool that some people might want to take into the big dangerous world outside and actually take photographs with.
Pentax is a long established brand and it isn't going anywhere. If the worst comes to the worst another company will step in and buy it.
So I uh... I got some parts I needed for another thing.
I created these.

Is the 8.1mp Ricoh gr worth 80$?
>>3106536
Sure, if it's in working order. It's old, and it has limitations, but it's not bad.

No seriously you are going to be very disappointed, at this point you much rather get a Ricoh Digital II or III or so for nearly the same price.

Am I supposed to own zoom lenses? Every what's in my bag video on youtube I see everyone carries like 3 lenses and 2 of them are always a 24-70 and a 70-200. I own like 1 zoom, because it is a pancake lens, and I never use it cause I think it is shitty. I own like 8 lenses and pretty much all primes. And all bags are designed for 3 lenses.
Zoom lenses are for 1) photojournalists and 2) dummies who think they haven't "made it" until they buy a $2500 2.8 zoom. It's a rite of passage for those wannabes.
Also I guess some wedding photographers need them, but those poor fools are photographers in the same sense that a house painter is a portraitist.

So then, has Fuji decided to lead the way in the abandonment of traditional full frame? Are we all headed to medium format when the competition ramps up?
>>3107817
It isn't medium format, it is like medium crop. It is smaller than the hasslblad digital medium format which is smaller than film medium format.
There is no competition when the market is shrinking.
Canikon owns 24x36 dslr territory and smartphones devoured entry level segment.
The only way is up where it's already an overcrowded tiny room.
There will be blood.
It's mainly positioned to kill Pentax MF.
In my opinion, Pentax is feeling the heat right now, they already fired 1000 Pentax employees in north america. And Ricoh is in huge trouble now, they are about to fire more people from the photocopy department.
Meanwhile their MF cameras are clashing with the new Fuji MF and Hasselblad MF.
>no IBIS
>no OIS on primes
>proprietary Bayer array that causes issues with RAW editors
>primes are soft wide open
>zero interest from third-party lens manufacturers
I don't understand how they're still in business, when they refuse to progress with the times.
