It's difficult to say what's best because many are better in different ways...Its subjective to what you are using it for. Give us more information on what you want.

Sonyfags can not compete. They talk about how good their build quality is, but they can not step in the way of a nice fuji. You get what you pay for, sonyfags, it is not a dream and you know it.

Is there a Fuji that is better than the Sony A6000 but with similar price range ($500-600)
>>3104150
No your poorfag.
If you want a superior Fuji, you will have yo pay for it.
>>3104152
Yeah but if you want an even more superior Fuji, you'd just get a Leica.
Does anyone here use their smartphone to control their DSLR?
No, I tried it with my GR but going through the extra hoop just seems dumb
>>3108470
Works gloriously straight out of the box on my sony, awesome for selfies, wildlife, macro, timelapse, etc.
>>3108470
Sure when it's convenient, like group shots with family or friends. I usually use just a delay with macro shots. Works well on my fuji stuff.
discuss the golden triangle rule of composition. Explain it in your own words and when its best to use it. seems kinda bullshit to me sometimes. So it's best with diagonal lines? Take a look at these examples.

I think the general threads are becoming a little too hyperspecific these days.
>>3107752
It's getting a little bit messy talking about a specific topic in /fgt/ these days.
I'm not really interested in getting into the gear side of photography, at least not yet. I used to when I was much younger and just found the cost too prohibitive.
But I do want to be able to take point-and-shoot pictures from an interesting perspective and with interesting compositions.
Are there any books or exercises that can help me?
>>3107584
Check out Terry Davis. He takes some pretty interesting pictures without much gear. Don't go too deep or you will find some gay shit.
>>3107587
I am an idiot. Terry Richardson I meant.
>>3107593
oh thanks, but i'm not crazy about him. i don't like the white background sleazy look his stuff has.
he also only does portraits, right? i'm more interested in objects and environment.
Going to buy my first full frame Nikon. I'm just wondering if there's any point in getting the D750 over the D610 if I don't care about AF. I am a bit strapped for cash so value is a concern but I am willing to save for longer if the D750 is worth it. I primarily use my Dslr for videography and will be combining my new camera with an atomos.
Thanks
>>3106589
why are you buying a nikon (any nikon) for video
nikons are shit for video
>>3106594
Well thanks for the standard brand negative response.... I have nice lenses for Nikon already. What is the best camera for video then?
>>3106599
Well anon, obviously the new Sony® A9™ is the only camera that can meet all your video needs. Why don't you stop by your local retailer and buy one?
>he bought a lolympus pen f memecro four turds camera
>paid more than a full frame Sony a7ii would cost
I don't get why Olympus and Panasonic can't just switch over to APS-C. MFT was pretty great ten years ago, but it's like the modern equivalent of APS or 126 film in terms of obsolescence.
>>3109617
They might as well do FF or MF... but they'd still not have the lenses and sensors required.
Daily reminder that this camera is superior to the Ricoh GR(dust) in every way.

i think this one would be better from higher up to get above the trees in the foreground, also maybe with a bit of the sky cropped since it's just flat blue without anything really going on
Neither are great photos, but are perfectly acceptable as snapshots to show your friends and family. Look into using the rule of thirds and other photo composition techniques.
I like how the branch arches over and the fence directs the viewers' eye on the first photo, but apart from the row of trees there isn't much to be directed to.
The second photo is clearly a pretty location but doesn't give much insight past that. The photo is a little bit wide for my tastes personally too and could do with some cropping. If the horizon of the water was slightly higher it might be more visually appealing. For curiosity's sake, where was it taken?
We can all agree macro photography is the gayest, easiest, least creative, most no skill thing anyone can do with a camera?
>>3109104
technically speaking, everything other than macro photography is the easiest and most no-skilled things.
It takes specialized equipment, lighting, software and techniques to do macro because of the wafer-thin depth of field requiring focus-stacking, very controlled subjects and perfect lighting.
Macro is easiest to make something cool with, because a macro snapshit shows something not visible to the naked eye, whereas a street photography snapshit doesn't add the least scrap of anything to the world.
I can see why a talentless streetshitter or wedding photographer would be jealous.
>>3109104
Nah, I'd give that award to "look ma, I'm a photographer now" selfie in the mirror using the auto mode on babby's first DSLR.
But yeah, macro photos of flowers/insects are the next close ones, especially when out of context.
>>3109104
those fucking pics of insects are the most boring thing in photography
