Here's a few pictures that I've taken recently. I'm hoping to get some criticism on them, I know the resolution isn't to great, but they were taken with an iPhone.
I'm looking to get an actual camera soon, any suggestions for my landscape pictures?

Hey /p/ I am currently writing an essay for university on the construction of collective identities on 4Chan. Since selfdefinition/perception is the most important part of identities, I prepared a few questions and it would be nice to get some answers.
1. Do you visit /p/ regularly (more than once a week)?
2. Why do you visit /p/?
3. Do you prefer it over similar sites, if so, why?
4. Is there something like a /p/ identity in your opinion?
(my understanding of identity below)
5. What does this identity consist of?
6. Would you consider yourself as a member of that identity?
7. Anything else you want to say?
Collective identity is understood as having two dimensions, content and contestation.
Main aspects of content are:
- identity defining norms and practices
- social purposes
- relationships to other identities
- shared worldviews or understandings of political/material conditions and interests
Contestation is the degree of agreement within an identity group over the content of the shared identity. It is an ongoing process that defines the content of the identity.

Because I can get a nicer, cleaner look on thousands of photos. At this point, where digital resolution is almost as good as or in some cases better than film, and I can edit my photos in easier, more expressive ways within minutes of taking them, film makes sense only as a hobby that takes a back seat to digital.
Also this is bait.
>>3051680
>Because I can get a nicer, cleaner look on thousands of photos.
HAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Digital is only there for convenience. If you are a professional who needs to work fast and can't waste time on changing film and developing and scanning it I understand.
If you are a casual who just wants to take some pictures of his holiday I understand too.
But if you want to make art convenience should not be prioritized before the image.
>>3051693
All professionals work like that you faggot. They can't spend weeks in one place trying to get perfect light and other bs. Like they did 30 years ago.
Are there any zoom lenses capable of competing with the Nikon P900? I was thinking about using a pan of the moon as an establishing introductory shot for a short science fiction film and something like this would be incredibly useful.

Sure, and in the end that might very well be the choice I'll end up with, but I would still like to know exactly what kind of lenses you need to film something like this.

Hey, /p/! I want to share my photos and also some stories. I will write as I go.
It has been a while since I made photos. I never looked up anything technical and just did whatever I wanted. I saw photography as a means to express my, well, hurt teenage soul. That is probably the right way to express it. My life wasn't going very well and I needed a way to release those feelings. I had already done that through stories and music but photography seemed a nice fit. So I took my camera, a horrible thing that made blurry images and stripes everywhere, and went into abandoned building complexes, like military barracks, hospitals, all kinds of ruins devoid of people and in the process of being reclaimed by nature.
Since my camera was shitty I thought I had no choice but to digitally "enhance" the images. Which boiled down to lay digital filter upon filter onto the images. At the time I liked the resulting images. Later I felt stupid for doing that. Later again I thought of them as charming since they represented more feelings than photographic talent. I'm thinking of the images as a kind of expressionism. I often even accompanied the photos with expressionist poems.
I will share the photos for pure nostalgia's sake and because a lot of them are actually interesting because of the motives.
This one is from an abandoned hospital - which would later become well known for a murder that happened there in the 2000's - near Berlin. It has three rooms for surgery that are connected via those little windows or holes.

What I liked most about the hospital was its elevator. It had become stuck in the topmost level of the building. From the basement you could crawl through the metal scraps of wheelchairs and hospital beds and look upwards to see it hanging way up there.

How do you guys work with models?
Just got my first camera and a girl I work with offered to model for me. I got a handful of good shots, but for the most part I felt like I wasn't communicating with her enough other than the occasional "stand here" or "look there."
In other words I spilled my spaghetti everywhere
What's the proper way to do this? What should I tell them? How should I interact with them?

Time for me to get a new camera, budget is around £400. Any camera considered, you guys decide. I'm a hobbyist so keep that in mind. Current setup is 550D.

Do you recognize the spot?
If so yes - it's where it was taken.
If no - then tough luck.
Although the original might contain GPS coordinates in the EXIF.

Right. This must not be the original I just tried on windows and on metapicz com
Yeah man, it's not the original. The filename is from facebook and it's a screenshot of a snapchat story, so you won't be able to find any EXIF data with GPS coordinates.
