I want to travel light. What lens do you recommend?
I've got a APS-C DSLR (Nikon D7100) with the following lenses:
- 50mm 1.8 D
- 35mm 1.8 G
- 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 G (VR II)
- 55-200mm 3.5-5.6 G (VR II)
Been thinking about getting a 18-105mm (cheap) or saving up some cash and buying a 20mm 2.8 prime.
>>3049073
take the 35 and live with it.
>>3049073
35mm, there is no better option
Just ordered this bad boy (Yashica E35) off Ebay, and I'm so fucking excited. It's my first film rangefinder, and the camera I will use to accomplish my foray into film photography.
I'm so happy I was able to find a red one. They're almost always black. It's lens is supposedly pretty good: 45mm f1.7. Though, having seen photos taken by it, if you want your pictures to be at their sharpest, you can't stray much below f2.8.
>>3044647
post a bigger picture, fucking ant
>>3044647
congrats, anon. i dont like mine, mostly, i dont like the fact that its an aperture priority camera. but i totally get the appeal it has for others. enjoy.
Great camera. The lens is indeed crispy as, and capable of very sharp images, the light meter is fantastic in low light too, but I bet you watched all the reviews before purchase. This is probably the most consistent workhorse in my stable. Pic related
That red is god awful ugly tho

Another little photo set for you /p/
A Homekill is common practice on New Zealand sheep farms.
The act of slaughtering a chosen lamb or ewe, skinning, gutting and butchering It
to provide a freezerful of mutton for the winter.
I killed and gutted my first sheep when I was 12 years old.
This roll of film is the Last homekill I helped on before leaving home.

I want you to be brutally honest /p/
Will i ever be successful with a canon eos 1200d or will i need cameras that cost thousands upon thousands of euros?
>>3051323
cameras and gear are the least important part of photography
Just get a hasselblad medium format. You're never going to succeed with the garbage you're using. Minimum investment is around 25k.

How do i get successful
I manage to get sick shots, especially at night but have nowhere to promote them or something

Farthest corner of the world? Haha well let me just post my worksite! Hahaha
I'm going to kill myself.
I did a photoshoot for someone, which lasted about 5 hours, ended up with over 400 RAW files, so that will be a few more hours spent editing.
I'm not a pro but have been shooting for close to 8 years now (as a hobby), so I know what I'm doing but I don't have the credentials to charge pro prices. Would $400 be a decent price or is that low?
Needed a second opinion from those who have experience getting paid for this.
>>3051009
You didn't give them a price upfront? I think it depends on the person you're dealing with. If they're expecting that you're going to do it for $100, they might not be too happy about it. I'd say next time make everything clear upfront
>>3051021
I've known the person for a while. They're pretty much an acquaintance/somewhat friend.
I wanted to discuss a price beforehand but the way this person does business is really all over the place, they wanted to have the shoot done and worry about pricing later. I'm covering my own ass by telling them the cost before they get their photos so in case there's any fuzz about the price, I won't be giving away photos for free.
>>3051022
I'd say charge whatever you want. But make sure you invoice them, and break down the cost bit by bit. Like if you want to charge them $30/hr show that you spent 5 hours shooting, and like 8 hours editing + travel expenses etc. Just so they understand. Because a lot of the times these people will see you snapping the photos for an hour, but don't understand that it takes even longer to edit the photos. That's the best advice I can give.
So there are new MF sensors released in 2018.
There will be a 100 MP, sensor size 44x33mm with BSI.
There will be a 150 MP, sensor size 51x44mm with BSI.

Nah, if anything right now full frame is going to become the base standard, rather than some prohibitively priced luxury like it was a few years ago.

Hello, i am trying to find some "cheap" camera with a CCD sensor, that is not too bulky and not CCTV.
Leica made a monochrome camera sometimes ago but for Christ sake, i will not pay 8 grand for such an object !
The main advantage of CCD of course being sensitivity in low light and the possibility of using narrowband filters without being biased by the inbuilt corrections/color bias of CMOS cameras in BW mode.
By the way, i was always interested of producing reconstructed color pictures with a BW camera.
Any smart ideas ?

OP here.
BTW Leica uses CMOS.
I think i may go for this : (debayering)

but i would have to "sacrifice" a camera for testing purposes since i have never done it.

youre an idiot
>>3049728
do not get me wrong, faggot, -historically- CCD sensors were more sensitive, and now CMOS are catching up.
and yes i am an idiot and will always be.
