Canon shooters are cancer and literally the worst people in photography.
>it's not professional if it's not a job shot with canon
>the logo makes up for the outdated technology and poor value for price point
>new technology is WORSE than old technology
>Fuji and Sony are toy cameras, despite having better sensors and more fully featured bodies
>Nikon is shit, even though it is almost the same as Canon, but at a better price point
>Shitting on other mount lens selection despite other mounts having offerings with better bokeh
>Shits on MILC lens selection even though it can cheaply adapt everything, native support is almost the same as canon on Fuji and Sony, and MILC lenses are generally better build quality
>Goes through exif data just to shit on other platform users
>never post photos
>never take photos
>literally numale redditors and women that just hang out in the instagram thread on their instagram full of cellphone pics
>never seen a user that wasn't a Kim kardashian worshipping teen girl or full blown aids city living homosexual
Canon shooters are behind every Fuji hate, Sony hate, Olympus hate, and Nikon is finished and bankrupt thread. Canon brings literally nothing to the photography world and just masturbates in the corner with its exclusive club of users that rely purely on brand recognition to make a fashion statement.
Every other platform brings something to the table, even sigma with foveon and Olympus with IS. Fuck canon and it's cunt fucking user base for ruining /p/ and every other gathering of photography enthusiasts.

Why is it that majority of Canon shooters edit the same way? They put this terrible filter on their shit to try and make their photos look like a movie still skin tones always look weird.

Probably their shit sensors. That or the fact that they took the picture with their iPhone.
Don't forget all the pictures of their EOD 60D and shit fucking quality 1.8 plastic primes on instagram taken with their iPhone.

What camera would you bring /p/? Something that's point and shoot would probably be preferable, right?
Nikon FM2T with a 180mmF2.8 ED and a 50mmF1.8E. Kodak Proimage 100 and Ilford 400.
for digital would be a single Fujifilm x100t
Whatever NPS/CPS have ready supply of as loaners.
And maybe a X100 like >>3056944 says because a small, discrete option is always nice.
If I was real ballsy, then I'd also go with the FM2, but with the 35/2 AIS and 105/2.5 AI.
C330 with grip, 135mm and 65mm.
Only provia. Hopefully don't get trumped in ktown.

Most important variable in this shot is shutter speed.
You don't know the basics, if you took up piano, you would learn scales before listening to mozart and demanding the sheet music.

buttshot, underprocessed, exposed for sky. 0/10
photographing skateboarders, theres one critical rule. No butt shots. this is a butt shot. and please expose for the skateboard, not the sky. also, pick a low apaerture or a higher one, the background trees are in this weird place of focus.
Sucks he didn't lock in the noseslide/you captured it to late when he's coming out.
As others said, no butt shots. Should take like ten steps to the left.
Background is kinda busy, which I'm assuming is why you made it black and white. Try to isolate him if you can in the sky or something.
I'd also say get lower if possible, as it makes the table look higher.
Check this Mike Blabac photo of a Stevie doing a proper noseslide and aspire to it.

How does /p/ balance between living in the moment and capturing it?
Let's say you're at a concert or a beautiful chapel. Do you soak it all in or do you pull out your DSLR and start framing shots for the whole event
Good quality compact and do both
I, like most beginners, bought a DSLR as my first serious camera because I thought it was the only option for "real" photography
But I quickly realized that for journalistic/artistic documentation of memories/day-to-day encounters, it wasn't the right kind of camera (the novelty of carrying that thing around everywhere got old quickly).
It's important to have a camera that can be taken everywhere, but can also be forgotten about when not in use. There's a reason the GR is so popular here.
I've got an old Leica for film stuff, and I use the 7 Plus for my digital snaps. The 28/56mm equiv is so convenient, and the simulated bokeh actually works pretty well. I think it's one of the best digital cameras you can buy.

One thing bothers me since i've started with photography
Why would dozens of people take pictures of the same goddamn building or the same scenery. Just to claim, that they have been there? You could download a better pic from the interwebz in no time.
When shooting something, i want it to be special. For me it is a horrible feeling to stand near 10 other people who take pics with the phone from the exact same object.
I normally like to enjoy things - and then i mostly start taking really weird pics that'll remind me of my experience at that place
This was the main reason why i took pics from wax statues while focusing under their noses
>>3056102
I'll never truly understand the concert photography genre. Photography must be the worst tool to approach non-visual subjects.

RICOH made it clear to reduce the consumer camera lineup AND expand the high-end lineup. Which mean more high-end lenses and high-end bodies coming out from Ricoh/Pentax, just like how Sony went. Which is good news for us photographers, but can be bad news for the low budget beginners who will be stuck with a very outdated entry level and a few (3-4) budget friendly lenses or even no entry level just the mid-high end APS-C which they will have to save up a lot of money for.
That also means the used market will bloom and used prices will rise as well with the rising demand.
Nothing to see here, just capitalism in the works.
Hey /p/. I recently took an interest in photography after shooting with my parent's camera during summer vacation (I'm still in high school). I recently bought an Olympus Trip 35 because I like film photography and want to start from basics.
What are your shooting tips? It's a pretty simple camera, so I was thinking of bringing with me wherever I go to snap cool shots as I see them. I was planning on making a little "High School" series of photographs sort of chronicling the experience before I graduate.
Also, I shot a few rolls, and although some were good, a lot of pictures were blurry, even though I checked the focus ring. Any suggestions for that?
Anyways, thanks for the help, any input is greatly appreciated?

Should I get a cheap point and shoot camera? Will it be better than a camera phone?
I've got a lg g2 and the camera is terrible.I think it's fucked up.
I need to take better photos and some video for some projects.
I was thinking about getting a cheapo used canon 400D and a cheap lens but I still need a solution for video...

Did sony just stop pumping out bodies? The full frame ones are taking their time to depreciate.

They had an earthquake and their high-end fabs got fucked.
It is part of why they dropped so high in sales, their high end bodies were flat out unavailable for months.
Rumor has it a7iii and a9 will be announced sometime this month though.
I recently took on disposable cameras and I love it. Please share your snapshits.
