Let's do something else for a change shall we?
Post your go-to affordable compact commuting cars starting from the early 1990's going all the way to the late 2010's.
My choices

I'm thinking of buying a first generation Mitsubishi Eclipse as a first car, thoughts?
>>17815259
for what purpose?
>>17815264
Pretty much everything, daily driving.
>>17815278
So you're getting like a 20-30 year old car that sucked to begin with as your first DD? I'm all about buying an old beaterbox and learning how to fix it, but are you sure you know what you're doing here?
So I sprayed a stripe on my Nissan Cube about 1 foot wide from the bottom of the front bumper to the bottom of the back along with hubcaps
>FF about 3 months
>Decide fuck it im gonna buy a different car
>got to stealership
>tells me my trade in will double almost triple if I take the stripe off
>figure okay it should just come off if I peel it like a sticker
>NOPE
It took me dousing the whole stripe in lighter fluid for an hour and a pressure washer to get it all off
Whoever said that plasti dip comes off easily is fucking retarded I tried peeling that shit off and it came off in tiny 1/4 inch chunks not like a sticker as they claim
>you didn't do enough coats
Yes I fucking did I did 8 coats across the entire car
Fuck plastidip
You did too many coats.
I HATE PLASTIDIP
>>17815173
8 light coats is equal to maybe 2 normal coats.
So your coat count doesn't mean anything.
Learn to paint.
Anyone thought of building a completely aftermarket 68 camaro?
>>17815157
What is VIN?
>>17815170
You don't need one in the US, register under special construction.
Either way, it's not worth the effort. Aftermarket parts, especially body parts, don't snap together like legos. It's not worth spending thousands of hours trying to get a body together and straight when there's shittons of the cars out there already.
why yes they have
look into promods
Is anything worth going over yaris if space is acceptable?
Mainly I am thinking about reliability of the engine and general quality
What would be its alternative, or paying bit more for something extra?
While I can afford 14k it would leave me extremely drained with no sudden emergency funds that I like to have.
>>17815084
Go sit in all of them first.
Reliability should be comparable.
>>17815109
planning on yaris and auris, depending on real life experience of their size and space in trunk
not sure if I should bother with honda, though apparently honda is somehow in my brain as reliable and better choice and I keep coming to it.
also have no idea what hidden cost will made apparent while I actually go and try to buy a car, and how long is waiting
Ehh normally when we badger people about car reliability its because they have shitty choices but these are Toyota's and a Honda. No need to worry there.
As a mk1 Jazz owner I would side with the Honda. They tend to lose on paper but win big in the real world. Toyota's just tend to feel disconnected and sloppy to me.
The Honda will blow your mind with the magic seats. It's possibly the most practical and spacious on the inside when you need it to be.
I have not quite had a kitchen sink in mine, but I did have a dishwasher and on a separate occasion a 180inch kitchen counter top (two pieces) mostly inside it.
In your opinion is the top dog when it comes to bone stock, lowest model, daily shitbox?
Civic, Focus, Mazda 3, Impreza, etc, which one is the ideal "my parents bought me a new car when I turned 16"?
You forgot
>Corolla
IMO the Corolla is the shittiest.
Mazda 3 is best shitbox.
Civic or Mazda 3 in manual is pretty much the best.
Ford and Subaru shitboxes are only worth it in their more expensive packages.
>>17814965
Nothing. New econoboxes are pointless.
Just get a civic for 3k
Can we have a perfect car?
>Electric engine
>Retractable headlights (Mazda MX-5)
>Sliding doors (BMW Z1)
>Coupe, Targa convertible and fully convertible roadster, all in one car.
>Cheap
>>17814906
>Electric engine
stopped reading there
>>17814906
Also elegant. I love the curved back of the F-Type.
>affordable version of McLaren F1
Done. Now what?
can any of y'all tell me what kind of car this is? at the very least the manufacturer
looks like some sort of batmobile, could just be a body kit though
fiero with a body kit
>>17814740
you certain?
>>17814751
it's a c5 corvette newfriend
>he doesn't drive a car made by the same brand that used to make jet fighters
tiptopkek
My car's manufacturer makes jet engines. Come at me.
In what way does building jet fighters make you a good car builder? Do you buy fridges from chainsaw manufacturers, too?
>dead planes
>dead cars
>dead company
>dying country
lol gj
Can somebody explain why I need to go through a dealership to buy a new car? It seems like a huge waste of money and resources to have commission-based salesman, multiple layers of management, and finance jews. On average this just makes my car purchase cost more money. Yeah, 1% of people who "haggle" can get a "good deal" but the rest of society who aren't lucky/don't get the right salesperson/manager or show up on the wrong day/just aren't good at haggling get screwed.
Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to do all financing through a credit union and have direct sales instead of adding tons of middlemen to the process?
Go around and get quotes quickly. Pit dealerships against each other.
>>17814755
How do you go about that?
>>17814736
Because otherwise the state can't get the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin and then the whole scam about needing a license and insurance falls apart.
*blocks your path*
>>17814405
Ayy you gut some cigarillos bruh?
What's it like, sharing the road with literal niggers?
>>17814405
:splits the gap
Colours you don't see often anymore.
Sepang Bronze.
Divine forest green paint jobs.
>>17814654
Probably because it's the most hideous color you can pick for a bmw. On my favorite car too feels fucking bad man.
Anyway to answer your request: Miami Blue
>>17814654
Black white grey silver master race check-in
Yo niggas, what is the safest way to get rid of pic related?
>>17814474
New bumper
A can of compressed aerosol and a lighter.
Blast it with piss.
What's your opinion on french car design?
I find the new megane quite appealing
Renault is trying to be VW with their "ONE FACE FOR ALL CARS (except the Twingo/Up!)" philosophy lately, Peugeot and Citroën seem to have gotten their shit back together in the design department and DS is quirky as fuck, like they should be (but their lineup could really use a refresh).
i have hated renault ever since they killed amc. that and the cars they sold in the usa were awful.
i only will like citroen
>renault megane
>doesn't wear glasses
It's time to post about the greatest car ever made
>>17814340
Ok, I'll start.
>>17814367
There goes any GM cars
>>17814367
>>17814340
that's not the EcoBoost™ Ford GT
