Would anyone mind helping me with general identification of this m1 carbine I inherited?
>>34781701
Is there anything stamped on the barrel? What is stamped on the receiver?
Can anyone recommend a good sig sauer to buy fairly new to the hobby

>$900 for a starter crossbow
Nah.
Also, what do you want your handgun for? If it's your first gun, I legit suggest getting a P320 subcompact, P938, etc. People usually suggest full sized handguns as a first, but I feel like if I could only own one gun, it should be something I can both use for home defense as well as cc.
P229 in 9mm.

Get a glock, spend the price difference on ammo.
/k/ why does it seem that non combat "vets" drink the muh military kool aid more than the guys that have seen combat. Just had a non combat vet tell me for 20 mins how they are so much better and different than civvies because they were in the military.
What gives.
>>34783019
They haven't seen combat.
We live in an era where social media makes it easier to believe that everyone is a special snowflake. Makes it easier to boost ones ego and hide insecurities behind "an achievement".

I see all these training videos and see fatal flaws everywhere and civilians eat that shit up thinking its the right way, where in reality is the right way to get yourself killed.

Is the one size fits all approach the military tries with its rifles really such a great idea ? If youre deployed to Afghanistan , wouldn't 7.62N rifles be better ? If you are deployed to thick Vietnam like jungles with relatively short engagement ranges wouldn't sub machine guns be better ? Guns aren't really expensive compared to all the other bullshit. I don't know what the maintenance cost of a division is per day, but an aircraft carrier cost 7 million a day by itself.
>>34782754
soon there will be a world without war then there won't be guns. that is as long as Drumpf gets impeached before he nukes us
We're still talking about buying ammo by the warehouse.
5.56 handles moderate distance, and is cheap to buy.
If you really need 7.62 they'll give you one.
Sub guns lack the versatility to provide them over a normal service size rifle.
>>34782792
I can not tell if you are joking or are a real leftist.
Anyone still watching the Tank Biathlon?
I'm looking for the Air Defense Competition but I can't find any video. China beat 2 Russian teams in the S-300PMU launcher loading competition by a large margin.
>>34782705
I don't watch that stuff but I might give the time. Have the Russians shown off the T-14 Armata yet or they still pulling bullshit out of their ass.

They should let China bring their Air Defense.
What exactly makes a trigger 1.5lb or 4.5 or 3 or whatever?
How does the trigger weight affect the reliability?
Will a 1.5lb trigger work well with trying to fire off as many rounds as possible? What about shooting 7.62x39 Russia steel cased? Or surplus ammo?
Does the hammer spring affect trigger weight?
Basically can I have a 1.5lb trigger in an ar15 using a wolf extra power hamming spring and have it be reliable and in fact 1.5 lb?
>>34782699
>Does the hammer spring affect trigger weight?
yes
>Basically can I have a 1.5lb trigger in an ar15 using a wolf extra power hamming spring and have it be reliable and in fact 1.5 lb?
no
>>34782699
Also reason being is that I want "full auto" but not spend 360$ on the binary trigger. Also this seems like it would more reliable and easier to do.
Also gives you better accuracy. Only concern is that it's a hair trigger and I might accidentally shoot when I don't want to.
I've fired a 1911 in 38 super(gun was like 4 grand) and it had a hair trigger.
Did a double tap but didn't mean to. Scared me a bit since I fired kinda high the second time.
Someone should make a trigger that goes from say 6.5 lb to 1.5 lb with the turn of the selector switch or even less.
So it's
Safe, 6.5 lb and then 1lb or even a bit lower(still needs to be reliable in rapid fire of hard primers though)
>>34782706
What would be the lowest trigger weight I could get using that wolf extra power hammer spring then?
What about if I were to use wolfs extended firing pin? Would that solve any issue with light primer strikes?

Hey /k/. Me and a friend saw this gun (white) in a model kit online, and we can't seem to figure out what it's called or what series it's from. We've been at this for about 40 minutes now And nothing has turned up. If you know what it is and the series it's from, I'd be greatly appreciated if you could tell us.

Shot Timers:
Any comp guys have some clear distinctions or differences worked out between the the three main models available? There is the CED7000, the Pocket Pro II, and the Pact Club.
Most of the reviews and descriptions I'm seeing are by normies and fudds so not that penetrative. I really can't tell which is better.
I'm not an old man so small screens and too many buttons simply aren't issues I'm concerned about. Loud beep, durability, and flexibility are my primary considerations. The more adjustability the better IMO.
Thanks for any input!
Also can anyone confirm functionality with suppressed stuff? Supersonic 5.56 mainly.
Don't see any info on that.
The Pocket Pro II seems like the best option in terms of adjustability, durability, battery life and things like that, but I'm afraid it won't work with suppressed supersonic 5.56
How fucking hard is it to make a larger spread of sensitivity?
All these timers seem to suck.

Whats a good fixed bladed knife?
My marine dad wants me to get a Ka Bar, but I think they're gayer than 8 guys blowing 9 guys.
I purchased a SOG knife months ago and regret the POS everyday.
Whats a good, cheap, fixed bladed knife for daily use /k/
>>34782501
Do you mean the KABAR brand itself is gay or the style/shape of knife is gay cause I have one of these and it's pretty good, filed down the serrations so it would saw better since the points on the serration would get caught
Pretty tough knife considering the abuse I put it through
Got it for pretty cheap too, only 40 aussie dollars
>>34782540
Got the same knife i like it
>>34782549
Nice, did you go for the black or the OD green
I was at a gun show and I saw a few things that I can't remember the name of, I was wondering if you guys could help me out, here is the list.
AR platform 12 gauge for a bit over eight hundred
Small 22 sniper, smaller than my forearm
720 dollar very lightweight ar15 that came in silver and FDE
Pic related, that's what the small sniper looked like. But smaller.
The small 22 was a little over two hundred, I believe
first one is shit and could be one of many shit.
second one is a ruger charger 22, fun but a meme
third is literally any AR that's likely shit

>sniper
>shut the fuck up
AI cricket stock iirc
You know how you need to be 21 to have a pistol transferred to you and how you need to have it shipped to an ffl in your state?
Well fuck that.
Buy a piece of pipe with the appropriate diameter for the pistol. Use a strong chemical adhesive to bind it to the barrel and also use a pice of wood with an u shaped cut. The barrel goes into this cut and then bind the wood to the frame.
The take two parallel wooden planks and put them around the grip. Use screws to tighten the wood planks to each other. These two Parallel wooden planks also need to be long enough to fit the requirements a of being more than 26 inches long and the pipe 16 inches long for the barrel. Then at the end of the wooden planks nail in another flat wooden plank in the opposite rotation as the two parred one to create a stock.
You have now converted your pistol into a rifle.
And there's no requires about the "permaninity" or effectiveness with this unlike with say deactivating a machine gun or any gun for that matter or attaching an integral suppressor to make an sbr not an sbr.
I also thought of having the buyer "forget" *wink wink* their gun when you go to "buy" a single round of 9mm for 400$ but that still might be a transfer, they can say you stole it and it might be considered to be a sale of a gun out of state either way because MUH intent.
However, the pistol to rifle thing is full proof.
I'd like some opinions on this.
>>34782451
Aww fuck
I just realized for this thing to not be an sbr you have to have the pipe barrel extension be more permanently affixed but then again ATF rulings aren't really law and it doesn't specify that in the nfa or GCA or fopa.
You could just completely replace the barrel with the pipe and just stick it into the frame(gently and with the right outside diameter of course) and then it would be all good. Also you'd have to add "rifling to the barrel" but a few scratches into the pipe shouldn't be too hard and they don't specify how much or what type or what quality the rifling needs to be nor do they specify if it needs to be safe to fire the gun or how functional it would be.
So yeah still works with This change.
Seriously, I'd like some opinions on this and not just "hurrrr deerp retarded" "hurrr atf honeypot" "hurrr ATF over fence meme" "Lolz ded doggo"
I want legalities.
From all my research it would be a rifle.
Has the 16 barrel and over 26 inches long and has a stock.
And actually for the rifling part, if you just make the Barrel 18 inches then that would also work since it would then be a shotgun. Since it was from a Virgin receiver or from a pistol reciever you can turn it back and forth.
Like an ar pistol
You can make it back into a non sbr rifle by adding the proper barrel length and then turn it back into a pistol and adding the 10.5 barrel and by getting rid of the stock.
>>34782451
>"forget" their gun
I don't know USC by heart, but I guarantee you that "Sale" or "Transfer" is defined broadly and would include such a thing, and beyond that, you wouldn't pass any reasonable man test if it went to court, since nobody would ever believe such a thing.
>>34782492
You'd need to pin and weld an extension up to legal length.
>>34782621
Per CFR
>Shotgun. A weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder, and designed or redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed shotgun shell to fire through a smooth bore either a number of ball shot or a single projectile for each single pull of the trigger.
Unless you're looking to rechamber it, no.
Just stop, OP.
Or spend a few hundred bucks on a lawyer and let them tell you to stop.

Hey lads, I'm wanting to do a few things to my CZ, but I'm going to upgrade the sights first. My eyes aren't great and the dots are a little too small for me. I was wondering if you guys could recommend any sights in particular. I'm torn between the Trijicon Night Sights, TruGlo Brite-Sites, and the MeproSites. Thanks! Pic related is the TruGlo's.
Here are the trijicons. Kinda leaning towards these. My CZ-75 Compact is my first handgun so I'm not too familiar with site brands.
