Explain this fuckery, you cast it from aluminum? I hope you don't have any pressure-bearing components in that design, or you'll be a glocknade victim.

Ready for what, six months max of fighting and nothing really happening outside of Korea, especially not to me because even if they somehow start handing out waivers for category 6 disqualifications I wouldn't even be out of BCT long enough, if at all, to go fight?

Tell me /k/, why do people get more than a gun or two?

When it comes to home defense, I honestly think that a pistol is enough, maybe a shotgun if you have space for it and aren't that good of a shot. I guess you can also excuse yourself to own a rifle as well if you regularly hunt during hunting season, assuming you have the gear and the license to do so.

Other than that, why are there people who get 20 guns and regularly carry it on them the whole time? We're not living in a dystopia, at least not yet.

Anyone in the Air Force? I'm really interested in joining the military and I've decided if I do join I'm going into the AF. It'll be at least a year or 2 before I decide on joining, trying to find out as much as I can.

I did 4 years as Security Forces active, still doing ANG for benefits. Don't do SF. It's dumb as shit, you're largely stuck with retards who think they're awesome cause they're "cops", and you're stuck dealing with dipshits at the gate or pissy dependas throwing fits on base housing. ANG SF is better than active because most people have professional jobs so we're not consumed by the I GOTTA BADGE mentality.

If you REALLY wanna run around in body armor with a gun as a job, get a TACP/CCT or even PJ slot.

If i had to do it again, I'd follow a good friend and do AFROTC to commission, get an Intel slot, finish my commitment, and use the sec clearances i got to get a really well paying private sector gig. Intel officers with high clearances are really highly sought after by consulting and policy groups. My buddy did 4 years as Intel, and used his clearance to basically walk on to a 130k a year consulting job.

Current state: morale is shit. Politics are shit. Admin are losing their shit over the trans awareness and diversity crap. You'll get fucked over for "unprofessional" behavior like sharing personal opinion by officers that got their tenure under Obama. They're hemmoraging good NCOs, leaving only the burned out or dead weight behind. Prepare to carry the extra share for lazy airmen who are women and/or minorities, they are (for now) damn near untouchable. Our last go around to Afghanistan, we got word 4 months in advance, with a month to go 7 of 8 women in my squadron were "accidently" pregnant, leaving us effectively down most of a squad. Prepare to see women and minorities shit all over AFIs, and lower and higher ranks, because they know any criticism they can scream "racism" or "sexism". I've seen it more times than I can count.

Tl;Dr, get an enlisted job as TACP/CCT/PJ, or use USAF to pay for college and commission in to a career field that will get you a swanky private sector job.

Last thread reached limit. The chickens are really coming home to roost on the P320:

Sig will still be a respected brand just like Glock. Both had teething issues so eventually this will pass just like Ford Explorers trying to kill their drivers, particularly cops, via carbon monoxide poisoning.

>SPECIAL FORCES TRY OUT 'BOBA FETT' BULLETPROOF HELMETS

>The helmet - similar to the one worn by bounty hunter Boba Fett - can withstand an AK47 bullet and will allow elite Special Air Service troops to detect the enemy in any terrain

>A Star Wars-style helmet that detects enemies and repels flames and bullets is being used by theSASin the war against terror.

>Elite troops have dubbed the futuristic piece of kit the “Boba Fett helmet” after theStar Warsbounty hunter, who wore a very similar-looking one.

>But the real thing is even stranger than science fiction, air-conditioned to protect against heat and gases, and with a “friend or foe” device that picks up signals from other wearers.

>And if conditions are on the dark side, there is an “infra-red” setting using heat-seeking technology to help the crack troops pinpoint enemies.

>The helmet is equipped with a GPS system that can bring maps up on to the visor to help troops check positions.

Sticking your finger in the chamber of a gun is a bad idea for two reasons:

1. Your fingers are probably dirty, and the oils in your skin can cause metal to rust.

2. Your finger can be injured. If you are leaving the range, your gun may burn your finger. If you get your finger pinched in the slide, it will bleed.

I propose a simple solution. Get a small piece of copper wire to stick in the chamber.

Speaking of safety equipment. Dry firing in your house is a bad idea. If you have an unintentional discharge, your bullet will go through the wall and injure people on the other side. You should have a safe backstop for dry firing. A tub of sand works well for this.
